  1. Thank you all so much this is really going to help narrow things down some in placing an order. My funds are limited yet I want I want I want lol!! Thanks again...and have a great day!!
  2. Has anyone purchased oils from Just Scent? It looks like they have so many interesting scents to try but the prices for the 1 oz & 4 oz samples and shipping are really high.
  3. I am looking for just a good straight lime fo... without coconut, margarita, sugar just like a true lime. I got the one from Peaks and something about it makes me sick. It doesn't have the sharp tart real notes to it. Does anyone here know of one? Thanks
  4. Hi there, Where do you find the best quality CD wicks. I used to get them from Tennessee candle supplies but they have stopped carrying them. Thanks so much
  5. I love CS peppermint bark. I love mint oils though and love chocolate and that is what I smell. I didn't care for Cypress & Berries it didn't smell of anything distinct to me, it just smelt perfume-y and I don't care for the perfume type scents. Harvest Berry is smelling nice I need to put it in the wax. I find their new Mistletoe to be better than their last. I smell more of the fir needle. It just goes to show that scent is such a personal thing. What smells great to one doesn't always smell good to the other.
  6. Sorry, but it seems that Stella has won the argument here... just scroll down where it talks about (jars) these baby (jars) and you will see for yourself. I think it is fine to make these for a baby shower for friends or just immediate friends but to sell at stores you might want to be a little careful! http://www.canning-food-recipes.com/canning.htm
  7. I really appreciate Stella's helpful guidance. She is a wonderful asset to this forum. She is always going out of her way to be super helpful. And when dealing with FIRE it is always best to play safe.
  8. Did you find the Premier wicks to have more mushrooms then the CDN's?
  9. I have to mention one very positive about these Premier 700 wicks. The flame is very steady there is no flickering or dancing.
  10. No I didn't use much fragrance only 4 grams per 4 ounce cup. I probably could wick up to see if that would make a difference when I'm not so burnt out (no pun intended) the next set up would be the 740 and 745 but am afraid that it might produce a giant flame but who knows it just might not? I have to play around later after Christmas but for now I'm sticking to my oldies but goodies.
  11. Hi there, I thought this was going to be the miracle wick but for me it isn't. I am sticking with the CD's and CDN's. I guess I could further test but with the two tests that I did one of them mushroomed quite a bit and the other one barely burned. I don't have time to go through these wicks and for me it still seems that the CD family works best in Ecosoya 135.
  12. Yes this oil is super hard to wick but after millions of tests I found that in my 4 oz -2.7 diameter cup using Ecosoya 135 with only 3 grams of fragrance and a Eco 4 wick this burns nice and the scent comes through even with this little amount of FO. This took me at least 8 candle tests to get this right. I have found this oil to be a love or a hate with the customers. I usually don't like sweet scents but I like this one so does my mom and my nieces.
  13. Hi there, I did my first burn test using the Premier 700 series using the 730 and the 735 with the Ecosoya 135 in a 2.70 diameter container. Well the interesting thing is the 730 is burning hotter with a larger flame and more of the diameter than the 735. So it looks like it doesn't mean that the higher number is the larger wick. I will burn these again later today and see what happens. I will keep you all posted. Happy Holidays!
  14. Hi... I wonder if anyone knows which Premier 700 wick is equal to cd 8 and also one that is equal to the cd 7? Thanks much, ellen:smiley2:
  15. That's awesome mine are too yay!!! Best of luck to you with the sales $$$:smiley2:
  16. Hi there, I recieved my new batch of CB-135 yesterday lot #1164189000 04023 from Peaks.. now this is the stuff I'm used to... it seems very good it's not oily and is pouring like a dream no sink holes... i'm curing some testers and will test the burn in a couple of days...so far so good...
  17. Thanks so much for your time and your suggestions Stella... there sure are so many things to learn in life the hard way it seems. This has taught me more about recored keeping and testing for sure. That is a good idea sending them a sample and also one of the defective candles from a bad lot. I really hope that I don't have to do it with this new batch that is coming... and I sure am going to test it well before filling orders.
  18. I called Peaks where I got my wax from and they don't keep record of the lots # and unfortunately I didn't write it down, lesson learned on that one...I called NGI and he said that nothing has changed in the formula for CB-135 but said with any organic sort of product the oil and other componets in the soy can vary... he said that he hasn't had any recent complaints. He wanted the lot # which I didn't have. I am drying out this wax on boards since it is so oily and after it dries out more it is not making the sink holes as much. I'm still afraid of it though and am waiting for another shipment to arrive today and hoping that it is the stuff that I'm used to...I will write down the lot # on this one... keeping fingers crossed it is a good bunch... best to all
  19. Interesting.. I guess that means that the CD 14 would burn out to the edges faster... hum.. I guess it would be best to test all 3 of these...
  20. Thanks Stella...I didn't know that:smiley2:. So for the size that she is using that square what size wick would you recommend for a starting point using 1 CD wick? Would you use a CD 12? Thanks much, Ellen
  21. I wicked a square container like this before... it may have been the next size up though of this square... i used ecosoya 135, peaks amber vanilla 2 CD-7's and it worked perfect... I was told by one of the wick companies that soy doesn't really burn well past a 3" diameter.
  22. I have always loved this wax too. This is awfully frustrating :angry2:Trying something new is a bad thought right now especially before Christmas . I am going to contact NGI tomorrow Monday and will let you know..usually companies don't want to take blame for their products and skirt around the issues trying to make it as we are doing something wrong but if we are doing the exact same thing and the wax is behaving differently it is no doubt the wax.. i will keep you posted...
  23. also i have a candle that i made from the previous lot that i used all of the same ingredients, fragrance, wick and it burned fine, as usual... so as far as the process of elimation... i feel that has been pretty much covered..
