  1. To be honest I can't hardly give the combo plate/dish away. The plug ins sell like crazy as do the full size melters. I will say that every time get the little skillets they sell out immediately but mostly for decorative use.
  2. Butt Naked sells year round for us. We do sell cracklin birch like crazy in the fall and winter, along with Mrs. Claus cookies. If anyone needs Pumpkin Crunch Cake I have close to 12 pounds left over of the 50 I ordered last year for a fundraiser. Cheaper to order that way but I know I will not use that much.
  3. I only do paraffin. I have given thought to adding a soy line, but like you mentioned, the cost and time of testing soy and determining which of my FOs would work and which wouldn't could add up to thousands of dollars and hours so have just decided to stay with what I know. I would really worry about contamination, in my shop at least. We use the glass pyrex 32 ounce measuring cups to mix our wax and scent in. Between batches I put them in a toaster over on the counter thatI keep set on warm so all the residue melts completely and then wipe it out really well. You could almost use it to mix food in I get it so clean.
  4. Don't know about Asian but I get the Persian Pear from Elements and it is really good as well.
  5. I got 4 of the quart size in a couple of weeks ago mostly because I wanted to see what they were like in person. They are wonderful. I kept one for me, posted a picture on Facebook and I had people fighting over them. Needless to say I am ordering more in a next week. If you want I can order some pint size ones for you if you will take the 4 minimum order.
  6. The Caramel Pecan from Aroma Haven is really good. Strong throw in 4630.
  7. Use a few beads of vbar, add the FO at 185 and stir like crazy with a wire whisk. Let the bubbles dissapate after whisking and then pour.
  8. wicking, and stirring those really heavy scents.
  9. I use 4630 and have many scents in each category that throw extremely well. The scents that don't throw well in this wax, and they come from each category, I chalk up to not being suited for us and move on to another sample from a different supplier. For about every 10 samples I try I might only decide to add 1 to our line. But at last count we have 112 different scents. I use one wax, 1 size wick and 1 type container. That is so much easier than trying to have multiple waxes, containers, wicks etc.
  10. Happy, Happy, Happy!! Good to know there is hope for us!!
  11. Wonderful!! That makes it all worth while. I still try to find enough deductions to keep from having a profit. 50% of my vehicle, my cell phone bill, and some other things but I have to admit, it would be great to have enough income to still show a profit after all that. If I show a profit going into December and I know there is some equipment I need the upcoming year I will go ahead and by it so I can expense it. Spent all my profits on a 200 pound wax melter this year but it will sure help this fall when things get crazy. I am an accountant by trade so I tend to be way to analytical in the candle business. Drives my partner/sister nuts since she is the artsy crafty person in the business. But she has learned to by more like me and I have actually learned to have fun and relax.
  12. I saw some popcorn molds on www.flexiblemolds.com Not sure if there are any boxes however.
  13. We use the one from NG at it is strong. I actually renamed it though to Cinnamon Suprise. Lots of Cinnamon in it but can't definately pick up the dough part.
  14. Depends on what time of year it is tbh. Now through summer NG Lonestar Aroma Haven Fall/Winter BCS Aroma Haven can't pick a third because I have to have them all.
  15. Double wick the 11oz and triple with the 20 oz
  16. We use Lonestar but yuck I can't stand it but I am not a coconut person. I always make sure my sister is doing the pouring on that one.
  17. We use 4630 and use the 11oz and 20 oz tureen jars.
  18. We use the multi colored sugar sprinkles on our birthday cake tarts, use the red white and green ones at Christmas for Mrs. Claus Cookies
  19. I don't order alot from them but any really would like to do more business with them. Excellent customer service. Ann has always been very helpful and returns emails and phone calls very promptly. I think they work another job during the day so most of my communciation has been in the evening.
  20. I use their A grade Pomegranate and Blueberry Pomegranate. Knock you socks off and strong enough that I don't have to use as much oil as I do with the other oils from other places. I have used their Lovespell in a pinch when Tennessee is out of stock and even though oob is smelled different one I put in wax neither I or my customers noticed any difference.
  21. I always try to order jars and wax at the same time and being that I am here in Texas I get those from Lonestar. I will order a full pallet of jars, enough lids for those jars and 5 boxes of wax so I get that price break. I have them put it on a pallet, shrink wrap it and send it LTL. Sometimes I actually set up my own LTL carrier since we get huge discounts with UPS LTL shipments. This discount comes associated with my day job which now that my candle shop is at them same location is wonderful. However even when I did it at home I would have them ship on a truck with a liftgate and had a pallet jack in the garage to pull the pallet in the garage. ALWAYS make sure if there are any oils or other items I might need from them in the next 2 months I go ahead and get those at the same time because basically they ship for free on that pallet. For roughly $125 I get all that delivered which really keeps overall costs down as low as possible. I do have to admit it breaks the bank for a bit. Now in the summer I can't always do those quantities but even half a pallet of jars and a couple cases of wax are still usually cheaper to ship on a pallet.
  22. I am ashamed to admit I just updated my list of fragrances that we offer and it is 112. This does include ones that I just do in the fall which is about 20 but dang that's alot. However I do offer any and all of them to my wholesale accounts but if they pick 1 that we don't sell much of otherwise I request they take 3 candles, our batch size, or 10 melts of that scent. It seems like everytime I delete 1 scent I and 2 more.
  23. If not for people with Scentsy warmers I wouldn't sell any wax melts. I get asked this all the time and tell them 90% of my customers have Scentsy warmers. The only time I really sell my own warmers are when I order them in the fall for the 1 week show I do.
