  1. I'm on the verge of an order too!!! Have you tested these yet classic? Thanks in advance!
  2. If you can't find her and need another artist, I design my own labels as well as other graphics for logos, digital scrapbooking industry etc. You can send me a PM if you can't find whom you are looking for.
  3. I allow mine to set up in a bowl and whip it when it starts to solidify. However, it is VERY labor intensive and I wanted the crumbles SO bad when I started and wish I had went with brittle so I could pour and just break up. I may slowly gravitate towards that.
  4. I hate when I make a batch at 6% and it's a dud but then of course you never wanna start out too high. Frustrating LOL. Thanks for the update!
  5. oh Aimee... how is peaks working in your 100% ?
  6. ummm... you have called her how many times since November and I am sure left messages. But suddenly a cop calls and she realizes "the husband" forgot the mail the check? Sure.
  7. I never tried Just Scents, do use 100% soy for your melts? I found a really cute vintage pic of tea towels and aprons on a clothesline for my labels, so I'm renaming it to afternoon clothesline. If it doesn't move I might switch it to actual Gain
  8. Aimee, I have 2 styles of warmers in my home. The BH&G from Walmart and then some of the ones from Just Scent that are a much larger bowl, and I personally think they burn pretty hot and my melts do not last as long in those, however I get scent almost instantly. I am my own worst "tester" because I have such candle nose! I will smell when I first put it in the warmer, which is usually the weekends (I work full time). The weekends happen to be when I am making more stuff, especially lately because I just got a new retail account and I "open" on 2/18. Anyhow, so I have all these smells going! AND I am notorious for never shutting the melters off (bad bad bad LOL) Now during the week, if I turn on the melter when I leave home in the morning, I can smell it as soon as I walk in the front door. (I love that!) When you are saying your testers are getting 7 days, how many hours? Like I said I am notorious for turning on the melter Friday at 7 am and forgetting I never shut it off Sunday night LOL. So I have fired myself. sigh.
  9. good point, on the temperature. I do clamshells but I also do crumble style, so I will do it that way. Thanks for the tips. Now I need to play around with making a form!
  10. That makes complete sense. If I may, on your form, do you ask them scent throw in general or compared to anything else they have used? Do you give them a scale of 1-10? I personally would like to know the temperature of their melter as the hotter ones burn out scent sooner. How much do you give them of a scent? Thanks!!
  11. Hi there, I want to take on some independent testers for my melts only. When I say independent, I mean those who are not family and won't care if they hurt my feelings LOL. However, since I am giving them free product I wanted to know what others used as a standard for their testing. Here are a few of my questions: How much of each scent do you give them? Do you require they use the same melter? Do you have them check temp of their melter? (as in the same one u would use/have) Do you require a specific amount of time they must let melter "run"? Do you make them fill out a form on each scent? Anything else? Thank you all so much I love this place!
  12. I have a slightly off topic question about this. Do any of you rename Gain? I JUST broke down and got Gain from Millcreek, but I don't want to call it that. Any suggestions?
  13. OH what about Penny Candy, Playroom, Kids Club, Sweet Tooth, for Blonde Moment? I haven't smelled the other two but some suggestions. Wipeout: Relaxation, Pure Relaxation, Clean Retreat, Zen Moment Morning Buzz: Cinnamon Sugar, Sweet Cinnamon, Sweet Morning Spice, Sugar High ???? That's all I got for now
  14. I started the end of last summer trying Millcreek. I spoke to the owner, and they do strenuous testing in 100% soy before they will sell an oil so though they don't have hundreds upon hundreds of scents, they are reliable. I do very much wish they had a "best sellers" category and the ability to write reviews on their site. The ones I have tried and love are: Lilac Breeze Stormwatch Berry Creme Brulee (LOVE) Gourmet Sugar Cookie Mango Papaya Chestnuts and Brown Sugar Ylang Ylang Ginger Christmas Eve Ones I am undecided on but customers like (throw fine, I'm just not sure if I want to carry them) Bergamot and Coriander - just not sure yet. Freesia and Musk - I guess I was hoping for more Freesia, if you like musk this is very pretty Extreme Vanilla - it is extreme and it is vanilla I just wanted something sweeter, this is more vanilla bean to me High Cotton - I expected a fresh clean linen smell but this has a bit of sweetness to it that I'm not sure I love yet. Musk - I did sell out of this during my Christmas orders, I just personally don't love it. It smells just like Yankees though Monkey Farts - I have smelled others of this and this one smells mostly like pineapple, I was expecting for banana and bubble gummy like layer to it Mulberry Wine: I sold so many bars of soap in this, again this is personal preference that I don't care for it. But customers do. It is VERY VERY strong. Red Currant: Smells JUST LIKE Candlscience Pomegranate & Sage and I don't like that one. Garden dirt. Did not like at all: Magenta Nectar Monkey Farts (see above) Lick Me All Over (I couldn't bring myself to pour it) I plan to order some new ones today actually!!
  15. I love that one and Cashmere Woods, I keep hoping these 2 will be duped VERY soon!
  16. anyone have success with using their oils in 415?
  17. I meant to also ask you if you tested the BB Buttercream and if it was near as amazing as VBC?
  18. I would be very interested in hearing more about your testing with other companies. I currently use straight 415 for my melts, in the form of crumbles. Maybe that is why it is so hard for me to gauge my time LOL (just clicked!!) sometimes I put in just a little chunk or 2, other times a large scoop. I need to start testing by probably 1-2 scoops which probably equate to a tart size. Are you making the little 'hockey puck' ones?
  19. Aimee what kind of wax are you using for your melts? I LOVE VBC and need to reorder, but have been wondering how the BBs would do in GB415. I make my melts out of that. Love to here that you are getting that many hours Yay!
  20. I was going to recommend the same, and it is very STRONG.
  21. I would be interested as well in your final results too!
  22. I love the smell of Opium, it is very exotic and yummy. You could call it many things like: Exotica Shanghai Nights Beijing Bliss Exotic Spice Orient Spice Exotic Orient Mysterious Mandarin just a few I could think of quick
  23. I agree, I just call my stuff butter, maybe I should switch back to brittle sigh... I just like the chunks lol... the brittle didn't give me the "butter" look is why I switched but you are right, it does take more time!
  24. That is exactly how I sell my melts. I make my tart wax and let it set up until it's "whippable" then I sell it in chunks by the pound, they can mix scents for their pound. I mix them too, as one scent starts to fade, I pop in a little of this or that in my melter
  25. one of my best seller's is NG's Downy Clean Breeze... sells out everytime.
