  1. I went to our hardware store today and they didn't have the Diamond Solar Salts, but they had the Diamond Super Soft crystals. I bought them, do you think they will work the same?
  2. This is awesome, I have been looking for an alternative to the soy drops. Because I read that they do not hold very much fragrance oil and that they can take up to 2 weeks to absorb it
  3. I do not know why I never saw these replies! I have my notifications on I am so happy to have checked in and see these! Thank you Moonstar for the link, that looks just like what i need, something I can adjust. Thank you so very much everyone!
  4. Now that I've finally found my wicks that are going to work for my Country Comfort jars, I was wondering, how do those that double wick get their wicks centered? I am hesitant to buy a double wick setter because it looks like it places the wicks rather far apart, from the look of the device. Is this correct? Placing them by hand is ok but I have had a few off center and that affected one of the sides not burning well. Thank you in advance!
  5. I tried the CD 5s and they were doing great until about the fourth burn, as the candles getting further down it seems to be that the Wicks are sort of drowning as well. Also, no FMP. I'm so baffled and I need to get these done I have 4 dozen for an order. I tried CD7 ( because that's what I had, I have some cd6 on order ) and those are burning well but I have a nearly full melt pool in a little over 2 hours. I'm hoping that the cd6 will be the answer!
  6. Hi there. I have been burning the one candle with the CD4 for 4 hours at a time. I have burned it now, I think 5 times and still no full melt pull and the wicks are curling down and drowning out I bought some 5's that should arrive today and I will test those as well as space them properly as well.
  7. I don't know why I wasn't getting notifications for more replies but thank you all so much for the suggestions. I am testing 2 CD 4's today. I think I may need to wick up to a 5, maybe 6. The hot throw is decent but nowhere near as strong as my other tests (but of course those were burning too hot) Before deciding to try a double wick, I had tried a CD 16 and CD 20 with no success, even after several burns, low hot throw and lots of wax on the sides I also tried 2 ECO 2's and those were still burning a bit hot for my preference as well. I am determined to find that sweet spot. Maybe if I move the wicks further apart like TallTayl, and that may change things with the CD 4's ??
  8. Thank you Trappeur, I have some CD7 but l order some 4 for testing. Moonshine, uggghhh. I've been testing with the last of last year's box, just ordered 4 new 2017 boxes. I better test with that wax for sure. What issues are you having?
  9. for years I'd been using a mason style jar and perfected the wicking. I recently decided to try the Country Comfort jar and have tried every wick under the sun it seems with no single wick giving throw or making a significant melt pool. I've received the best hot throw by double wicking, however, it's still not quite right. The candle I made was using 2 ECO 10 wicks, per Candle Science's wick guide and I had nearly a 1" melt pool in under 2 hours. The throw was amazing but that's just too much/too hot. The only other ECO's I had were ECO 2 so I did that and the pics below are those wicks. This was the melt pool after 4 hours, as you can see, the left wick had some mushrooming as well. I think ECO 1 is the smallest I can go. Should I try CD wicks? I really loved the throw of the ECO 2 but I'm concerned with this large of a melt pool at 4 hours, it may burn too hot as it burns down. Ideas? Thank you so much! Stats: Country Comfort 16 oz GB 415 Soy Wax CS Cranberry Marmalade Double Wicked with ECO 2
  10. I was searching the net for the same answer and I found this lady http://www.shoprachelrene.com/discontinued-sale-bourbon-vanilla-bubble-bars-vegan/ She sells hers (well it looks like she is discontinuing ALL of her bubble bars not just this one), anyhow, she sells her with photos showing that her vanilla scents turn brown. As a customer, if I saw that and liked the scent and new AHEAD of time, I don't think it would bother me. Thoughts? I have a delicious scent in all my other products that turns my bars brown but it's always requested. The few people I have sold it to don't mind, and I had put a sticker on the back of the packaging that said "Why is my Bubble Bar Brown?" with an explanation about vanillin. Not sure what ya'll think about that but I'd LOVE a stabilizer that works in the bars too!
  11. Karen I do the same with my candles for the very reason says you've mentioned. I actually offer two versions of my candles, a very rustic style with bakers twine and kraft tags. I additionally offer a very sleek and modern line of which I also do not use dye in the candles. Not one time has anyone asked me why I didn't color my candles and most people think it's because my candles are 100% soy so I'm being green all around. I have also found, especially with the deep colored candles, as I used to previously color my candles that it can cause clogging up the wick. However I can see that people are drawn to color, I am very much someone who loves color, but for some reason the undyed I candles really appeal to me because, no matter what time of year or what color room that they're going to go into, and they always fit.
  12. I second the 7up pound cake, though I have never mixed it I love it just like it is. Steve, what have you successfully mixed it with?
  13. Christmas Memories is amazing! I get requests for it each year!
  14. Is there a thread for company abbreviatons? LOL ... I think I know who ICS but not sure and THANK YOU!!!
  15. UGH.. I have the Caramel Cinnamon Latte from JS and it is really yummy BUT the last batch of tarts I made only threw for about 3 hours! I added more oil in and still only about 3 hours and you have to get up close to it... sigh. This scent use to throw really strong and well I just got a 108 candle order with quite a few being Caramel Cinnamon Latte ... I need a STRONG throwing replacement that is great in 415! Anyone?
  16. I've priced them and it's pretty expensive, well atleast for me. Let me know if you find it's cheaper for just the caps!
  17. Thank you for your tips, I am still on the fence -- I am not sure I can get enough product done for the event as you said, for impulse shopping. I should probably just GO to it this year as a consumer and check it out then decide if I want to do the February show or not.
  18. This one is less than the one they have in February by about $200. The one I am wanting to go to is the Holiday Extravaganza and I live in Fort Wayne so for me no hotels only about a 10 min trip to the coliseum. I just have never done ANY show before to know how much of each product to take. I would be doing my perfume line --- I keep my candles separate from the perfume/body even with different names. So I was sitting here going ok .. how many perfumes, lotions, shower gels, soaps, body butters, all of those for each scent? or take orders and ship? it's very overwhelming!! Thanks for the Candle Cauldron tip though!
  19. oh I agree it's expensive but if there is a return then it would be worth it!
  20. I looked at the form too and I understood it to say it was included in the Exhibit Booth price. I will have to email them. I am hoping someone on here has actually done one of these or a similar show that may have some tips or can say if it's worth it. Where are you at in IN Beth?
  21. Hello! I have never been in a craft show for my products and am considering being a part of the Women's Expo event. They are in OH, Chicago, and Fort Wayne IN and are indoor events with all Women schtuffs. They say they include table, tablecloth, sign, etc. Has anyone done one of these or do you have ANY show tips at all for a newbie? What to take etc?
