  1. Glad your supplies finally arrived. The weather is out of anyone's control.. I know Lonestar and other suppliers affected by the weather DID post some sort of banner on their sites informing their customers of the delays, it happened to me with CandleWic, but I received my colors and all is well
  2. I read that thread a few weeks ago after your recommendation, Stella. It definitely makes sense, and I temper my wax without even thinking about it too much, it's just the way I do things, and one of the steps I take to produce a candle. It's natural. I guarantee you the anti tempering folks on this board probably also do it without realizing it
  3. All of the above sound amazing! I love getting tempted to place a FO order...lmao
  4. Be aware that if you don't let your soy harden completely, it will tunnel and put itself out! 18 hours wasn't enough time for me in a mild climate lol
  5. I disagree, too. I've burned too many candles for the love of natural light, before I started making my own. I could assure you that short term burns do not have any impact on the quality and/or burn.. and I've never experienced tunneling when doing so.
  6. High post counts mean nothing...especially when the majority spend their time in the "off topic" section of these forums...
  7. I've noted smoother tops on my paraffin votives using the method I mentioned.
  8. Interesting response to a very legit question. To the original poster, I am not sure exactly, although I have personal 'tempered' using the first method you mentioned.
  9. I agree...A cat would not stop at a flame for their love and need of catnip!! I foresee singed cat fur in this man's future if he goes on with this one! Definitely not a good idea!
  10. Sorry Pam, I never said I didn't like it here...it was just an observation. The crowd here should seriously lighten up.
  11. This happens when you don't pour enough Happened to me a couple times when I've run low on repours lol
  12. I think they both have their advantages. I like the fact that the tins can be taken on travel. Glass at home is my personal preference. I would offer both.
  13. I use liquid dye and have had great results everytime using Peaks
  14. hahaha wow...that statement was made after over a couple weeks of observing and reading the boards! Sorry, didn't mean to offend anyone here but they really are not active boards..lol chillax!! candle making is supposed to be therapeudic I guess you haven't had your dose today, have you ladies!
  15. Good Luck.. From what I've seen these boards aren't very active Being new myself I can't help you here, I just researched and read read read....if you read enough you will know what's out there, and of course we need to test them all ! Everyone's house conditions (climate) are different and from what I've gathered that affects the results. So what's good for some, may not be good for others. Someone please correct me if I'm wrong. lol
  16. Thanks for the reply. I will test tonight and let you know....Regarding the prices, I thought this site had reasonable prices..I actually seen a few others that were WAY higher after the purchase, which was making me worry about the quality of their 'pure essential oils'.
  17. http://100pureessentialoils.com/ Has anyone ordered from this company before? If so, how are their "pure essential oils"? Thanks Bella Rose
  18. Interesting!! i'd suggest to do the opposite of everything you do now.. but I wouldn't take my advice just yet, lol
