  1. That's beautiful and very cool! I would buy one
  2. Take what Genwax says, as well as their recommendations with a grain of salt. FYI I am in So Cali..just drove there for the second time on Saturday, and English isn't their primary language..they are mostly factory worker types. They were in the middle of teaching a "class" of candle beginners, aka a 9AM-2PM candle course (all first timers), covering hurricanes, containers, ice candles, soy, etc..and class ended with sending these people shopping in their store for supplies to make a double wicked 4+ wide mold.. It was really bizzare..The people were walking around pretty lost/confused and overwhelmed. LOL I think that was in no way smart teaching, but that's just my opinion. Simply, Genwax doesn't have the smartest employees, or the best advice.
  3. I would personally send them cease and desist letters! That's awful. I'm sorry you're dealing with this. I am someone who also branded myself, and I take pride in my logo, name, etc. as it was all my original vision and design.
  4. My first instinct would be to wick down to a 73 or 83..!
  5. Ok, so I'm burning a 6oz tin GB464 with a HTP 105.. and within 30 minutes the whole lower office at my work was filled with this aroma! lmao I had someone ask..what is that scent! Smells so good..just like my grandfathers pipe he used to smoke, and someone else said cotton candy and burnt sugar! haha I'm just not sure what to make of these comments, I just am laughing to myself, because it does remind me of an old fashioned pipe smell. It seems as though the longer it burned, the more it was smelling this way. Anyway, what gives! Has anyone else experienced this? This candle was burning for about 2 hours~
  6. I do 1 container at the moment, votives, tea lights and pillars. Both soy & paraffin. I started with votives.
  7. To the OP- I don't think this label of yours is appropriate, considering it's not your original work, thought, source, etc. I am immediately turned off by it. Haycreek~This sounds like a nightmare!! I would be LIVID! This just makes me want to gin up some non-interference, and do not compete forms for the future of my own business. I'll make them all sign! That's just madness~
  8. Shipping has gone up an astronomical amount just within the past 2 years! It's crazy!
  9. LoL! Well I don't buy my FOs from them! I honestly have never tried them out..
  10. Driving over to Genwax tomorrow after my daughters volleyball game! Super excited~ it's been awhile since I've been there, and they are only 25 minutes from me. I will also be making more pillars ! but I'm dying for more moulds, so that's #1 on my list!
  11. thanks so much! having fun with these lately..!
  12. I love taking these out of the moulds This is amish harvest by Peak
  13. Ksranch~ I've been trying to locate poly 150 for too long, and I've almost given up, until I saw your post! Can you share with me where you purchase yours from, please? Thanks in advance!
  14. I've also never had a problem with my suppliers..I'm usually happy to receive an email from them. This means they are probably having a sale, or have new items in stock, etc . Also, I have a couple email addresses. A personal email, which I have folders set up for: Personal, Online Bills, Candles, etc. I will never use my candle business email address for purchasing supplies, ever. Only to interact with customers. I also like having my order history saved with my supplier incase I don't have my data near me when placing an order.
  15. I finally finished creating a spreadsheet that I will use to track my testing. I initially began with test sheets on paper. Each batch was assigned it's own product code # and then I'd file the sheet away after making the batch and it keeps the detailed information nice.. I wasn't happy with using this process alone. I would be at work, or just needed to check my progress in a consolidated format instead of searching through a few pages of paper to find the sheet in my files. I am so excited to use this spreadsheet, alongside the 'detailed paper sheet' in my files. So now when I just want to know the bill of materials for x item, it takes seconds! Perfectly organized in excel. It took some hours inputting all the products from the my vendors, but wow it was worth it. ) Now never again will I have to write materials over and over, I just pick them from the drop down list! I couldn't imagine the paper load I would have had, after I've tested a couple thousand variations of product, without having some sort of database with all the data compiled within it. I was curious to see how all the veterans here keep track of their data? I'm sure you all have tested thousands of scents, etc. This was driving me insane, big relief here!!
  16. This is so upsetting!! Genwax is so close to me, so I wanted to drive there and pick up some glassware over the weekend to save on shipping. I checked their stock and they were out of all 3 types I was on the way to pick up! :x So now Im a little uneasy about even ordering them. I really want to be able to always find my containers in stock, and having to worry about them being discontinued or out of stock all the time is stressful! sighhhh
  17. Candybee - I agree with your method 100% - from a business owner point of view, on both ends..
  18. I leave my tops off for the first 48 hours, too.
  19. Using the wick pins almost made votives too easy! Since this picture above I've switched to the igi 1274 mottled votives, personal preference Sorry I offended you, Crazzie...I don't go around bashing anyone. Communication via the internet can sometimes be mistranslated into seeming rude, or 'rash'...although it wasn't intentional....I don't expect people to agree with things I say, and I don't agree with everything I read either. I'm not out here trying to cause problems, sorry you feel that way. In any case, good luck with your candle making. I'm not an ego maniac, or arrogant, as I've been called from people on this board..Sad! that I'm being accused of bashing newbs, when it seems that every time I post, someone has a problem with MY opinion. When you are actively involved in a public forum, you should expect and respect the views of other people, we all have different opinions. If you don't like my response, ignore it! But I can tell you right now that I don't go bashing people intentionally on this board. I may disagree with things, but what would this board be like if we were all conforming zombies?? I definitely wouldn't be on here. People have a hard time believing I have 'perfected' a soy container candle. I assure you, this container above ^ I have. Obviously, I have a few other container styles to get to the same level of amazingness, but damn I'm proud of what I've done!!!! If that's a problem with some of you, I AM SORRY! Let me apologize to everyone who has been offended by my words on this board....like I said, it wasn't my intention. Now I need a glass of wine! sheesh
