  2. did it today.. wasnt real pleased with it... it was plenty fluffy enough, just too greasy for me.. felt like crisco IMO... I saw someone metion that you could do a 60/40-50/50 split with VCO?? is this true.. how does it affect the texture as far as oiliness??.. the recipes i have only called for 2-3 TBS of oil... I did add some cornstarch... still very greasy..
  3. the hardest part for me was creating a logo... which I finally did in the plain ole paint program... I downloaded a cool font.. I designed my label in paint first.. then i used the shipping label templates in my works program.. I recently downloaded the avery design pro... which is great now I can make round labels as well...
  4. don't know how to make them.. if it were me I would be scouring my house for something to use for a mold:laugh2: , I do know creative illuminations sells them premade, and also sells a mold for them.
  5. it was cheaper to make my own that have someone make me customs ones.. from places i checked... and i dont over use color..I try and keep my labels simple..
  6. I meant for the sealing only(not for vaccum sealing)...I have never used shrink wrap tubes.. so i didnt know they needed to be sealed.. then shrunk... just filing away for future info as I allready own a foodsaver ..
  7. I have been asked this too? whats the deal with parties?? people just want an excuse to have a party??
  8. everyone will have their favs.. and for different reasons, some for price, some for quality and some for convenience... I order from peaks, WSP, carolina candle, and brambleberry.. I have tried others and will sometimes to get a great deal.. but the bulk of what I buy comes from the first 3..
  9. could you use a foodsaver to seal or do they get too hot? just curious
  10. I think its more of a technique.. looks sorta like this one
  11. all those who store in their garages? are you in places where it doesnt get very hot or humid.. if i stored in my garage.. I would have a huge mess.. or a fire...
  12. see I thought of the outer package labelling too.. but I have a bottle of baby shampoo not sold on box.. no labeling, I also have a burts bees gift set...body oil, cremes and lotions.. all labelled.. soap is not.. and no special insert for the soap.. and a few other things that arent labled at all.. this is all so very confusing..
  13. you cannot use a liquid firestarter in a wood stove(gas, kerosene, lighter fluid, petroleum based products.. I actually found a blurb reccomending fire starters Start a Fire with Fire Starter: Independent research indicates that using a fire starter to start a fire in a wood stove can cut particulate emissions by more than 69 percent. things made with wax and saw dust etc.. are approved for woodstove usage
  14. yes.. i get raffia at walmart its pretty cheap, sometimes i even find it at dollar tree if you have one of those, in many colors besides brown.. there are tons of plaes to order other packaging items from.. what specific kinda rae you looking for? jars, bags, shrinkwraps ??
  15. very nice.. i am gonna do this for my DD 13th birthday and let the girls take them home as party favors...
  16. is there a plain language, readers digest condensed version of whats required.. are there nation or state wide regulations? I have been labelling everything...but since I have been making my own B&B stuff i take notice now of ingrediant labels on my own purchased items... and now have noticed i have MANY MANY things in my home.. that have no ingrediant labels, cosmetics, soaps, shampoos tec.. things from nationwide chains... why is this??
  17. I do my own on works taskmaster and using the plain ole paint program...! I just found a font I liked and color scheme and kept it simple.. I did just download design pro from avery.. its a bit more user friendly that what i was doing..
  18. glad you sorted it out.. around here that offense would have been punishable by death:laugh2: by husband is in plumbing and struct engineering.
  19. one really cheap item is pencils from oriental trading company... about 1.50 a dozen sadly they are usually one liner and no logo this place has a lot of stuff http://www.apromotionaloutlet.com/topten/new.html tjhis place lets you upload your logo and preveiw items https://www.branders.com/
  20. I am allready working on the fig one:laugh2:
  21. if i get what you are asking.. you want to know if your blended Fo should be equal to 1/2 oz -1 oz FO... yes.. try your wax.. see how much FO your wax can/will handle.. then adjust your FOs to equal that amount.. some waxes hold more Fo than others... I can use 10% or 1.5 oz in the one I use for containers.
  22. why dont you test the single scents before you start blending.. you can guage how each indivual Fo behaves and throws before you test the blends.. and dont go overboard with too many at first... a lot of product in a few choices is better than fewer amounts in many many choices..it will be very difficult to keep up with and test soo many in the short time period you have.. test in the containers you intend to sell them in..
  23. recipe and/or instructions.. your own or a website... I want ones that look like natural stones.. not gems
  24. my biggest dilemma is i live in base housing, so I cannot do any additions or permanent modifications...I am gonna have to think a lot on this one..
  25. I use all of the above.. I do use food coloring.. and i am a cake decorator and have used paste food coloring(mostly in a pinch).. the only thing about using the paste is that its expensive.. more expense that regualr food coloring or B&B colorants. AND... they contain additives that reg old FD&C colors do not like Propylene Glycol, Hydrated Silica, Sorbitol, Glycerine, Methylcellulose, Gum, Vegetable Gum, and Sodium Bicarbonate which can affect your soap, some yellows even contain alcohol..
