  1. I only checked a couple of the scents but they seem to match so I am guessing that's where they came from although their name is on my sample bottles I have from them.
  2. Got mine and have been taking a break this week from pouring So I plan to test it out tomorrow to give it a fair opinion! It was pretty melty when I got it (I am in TX though and it's been hot) but it hardened up once it was in the ac so i should be able to peel it from the plastic to melt it.
  3. I have had a few issues too with companies but as long as they make things right I am happy. CS is good about customer service. KY is really good too. Had an issue, they sent me the wrong item by mistake and repalced it and I have the replacement 3 days later. Had another issue with another company about a week ago. I ordred 2-16 oz bottles of something-they sent me one. They circled the multiple quantities on the other items but not this so I know they missed it. When I called about it they told me that they ran out which is why they didn't include it. Really you send one but not the other with no mention on my order. They said they sold out over the memorial day weekend. I ordered the Monday before Memorial day. I believe they are out now but not then. They did refund my money but I wanted them to just ship it to me when it was in stock because now I have to order that again and pay a lot for shipping. Ugh.
  4. I like CS Clean cotton. I actually ordered sun wahed linen from there but it spilled in my box and was so strong that I still haven't tested it!
  5. Thanks for the tip on the performas. I will definitely try those. I can't seem to find the black lids for the 11 oz. I can find them for all sizes except the 11 oz unless you know something I don't know!
  6. I found the zincs worked pretty well in the 11 oz tureen. Seems like you could wick it right without the bigger mushrooms I tendd to get with some of the wicking in the 20 oz tureen to make it work. I too have a lot of tureen jars sitting around. I would like to re-visit the 11 oz size. The only thing I am not crazy about is the gold lid. Picky right! They were a nice size though and burned well. I thought about triple wicking the 20 oz so I could use smaller zincs but like you I don't think I want to go there! I have tried about every wick except the performas. I'll have to check those out and order some samples and see what I think of those. Why stop now when I have every other wick made!
  7. You may be right. I guess I figured it would be easier than those tall 16 and 28 oz ones. I started out using the 11 oz and 20 oz tureens but I used zinc wicks with them. I know they are different as they have a fully open mouth as opposed to the tapered one. Always tricky with the wicky.
  8. I'd be interested to hear if you are successful! I have been testing the 12 oz apothocary jars myself. I use a different wax so I am probably no help. I use a blend of 6006 and soy. The htp's work but put too much soot on the jar towards the end. The zincs work but then I have the mushroom that I don't like. I like zinc other than this problem. I can trim the wick and not have issues but I can't trust that my customers are going to do this and when you re-light with the mushroom it seems to pop a little and I DO NOT like that! I am actually having pretty good success with the lx so far. I am testing heavier oils right now- cinnamon roll, sugar cookie and a hot apple pie. The lx 10's and 12's die out. So far the lx 14's are working and the jar hasn't gotten too hot yet although I am not halfway down yet which is where the problems usually is! I am keeping my fingers crossed that this might work. I have a whole arsenal of wicks though so I can keep testing! I really hope these lx's work though because I really like the flame, the lack of soot so far and the burn characteristic. Plus I could finally be done testing these jars!
  9. I emailed them to let them know about the leakage problem I experienced and they are sending me a couple of ounces as a replacement. I told them I really just wanted to tell them so they can fix the problem. However they do have great customer service!
  10. I live at sea level and still have leakage issues so while I think altitude can play a factor it's not the only factor!
  11. Yes I am having the same problem and need to contact them myself. When I have ordered samples in the past almost every order had a sample bottle that leaked. I received an order last week and one of my 16 oz bottles leaked. I could smell it from the box so I figured as much. Probably only lost an ounce but it's frustrating. I think I have only had One order out of about 10 NOT leak.
  12. Definitely give you honest feedback because this is what I look for two when I give samples out. Looking forward to testing for you!
  13. I like and use their lavender body wrap, patchouli honey, olive blossom, tuscan lace. I like a lot of what they have. Those are the few I can think of off the top of my head that I like and use.
  14. I use their Cactus & Sea Salt and like that. I have samples of pumpkin brulee, pumpkin spice latte and caramel cinnamon latte. OOB they smell good. I haven't gotten around to pouring these though. I also have a couple more samples coming from them. If I get around to doing somethign with them this week I'll let you know.
  15. After making candles for a few years and seriously testing and getting after it this last year I am just now ready to sell. So I am not going to be able to give you great advice as far as what sells but I can share what I like and what I am looking at doing. I want some type of pumpkin for sure and I have a lot to test because I love pumpkin candles! While I am not necessarily a lover of pine type scents you might want to consider it. I really like Holly Berry from CS OOB but haven't poured that one yet. To me it's not as much of a in your face pine. Elements and Berts both have a scent that is similar. Elements has Balsam and Citrus and Berts has Aspen Forest which is about half the price. I really like Spiced Cranberry from Bitter Creek. Super thrower. Very strong and good. I am also thinking maybe a gingerbread scent. I think BW has a honey gingerbread (Drawing a blank on that one right now) that is supposed to be good. I also am trying to find a good Orange Spice type of scent. I think the cookie and eggnog ones sound good too. Miami Erie has two samples that I ordered recently that actually smell really good OOB but I haven't poured them yet. Mrs. Claus Cookies which actually has a mint note to it and a peppermint cocoa that smells yummy too! I am actually pretty excited to test this one out.
  16. I agree. Keep burning. I usually have some wax hang up until the third or 4th burn. If it cleans the jar on the first bun a lot of times that means my jar gets very hot at the end. You can always go up a size on the wick and see what you think of that if you need to reassure yourself. I do that sometimes. I'll test two side by side so that I know for sure I have the wick I am happy with.
  17. I'll second the KD 7000. It has a plug in adapter and I love it. It was also around $35 dollars which was even better!
  18. Love to hear your feedback. They only one I use right now is the High maintenance but wouldn't mind trying a few of the others!
  19. I have to agree that I really like Peaks BOP and it's the one I prefer. I think it smells strong and true to the description so hopefully you can figrue out what happened with your oil.
  20. Haven't tried that one. Will add it to my list. Mz. Picles if you order you might as well add a sample of the cucumber mint.
  21. I pretty much do the same thing. I find that for a particular container I use 2 wick sizes for most FO's. Occasionally I'll have one that is really hard to wick and go up a couple sizes higher or one that's really light. I usually do what deb said. I start with my smallest and go from there unless I am pretty sure it's going to be a heavy oil I may step it up one. The problem is I always want to use the smallest wick possible so I'll still try a size smaller if I don't start with the smallest. Typically my florals are a smaller wick with some citrus and bakery scents the heaviest. I always have some surprise me and either take a lot bigger wick than I thought or a smaller wick than I thought.
  22. So you guys just buy the embeds already made? Do you just buy them unscented? I was thinking of making them myself but I guess this would probably be easier. Thanks for the links!
