  1. I think instead of enabling YOU..I am being enabled. I haven't tried some of these suppliers even though they are on my list! I also agree with KY Candle. I have quite a few of their oils as well and like a lot of what they offer. Probably better for candles though than b&b so might not fit your requirement.
  2. So many fun options. Looks like I am going to have fun playing. The strawberry embeds sounds cute candlebuddy. I looked at a couple of molds last week and the seemed like they were big strawberries so I might look some more for some smaller ones. Scented this thread is making me crave a nice strawberry shortcake myself. I should have made one today!
  3. It would be hard for me to suggest one place as I like too many. I only do candles right now but would love to play with soap and lotion some more. So not sure if I could tell you who has the best body safe oils as well. I have heard BCN has a nice sandlewood vanilla if you haven't tried that. I am not a huge patch lover but I really like patchoulli honey from elements. Brambleberry has nice oils but I have read they are better for b&b. I do like and use their relaxing(think this is good for guys too) and energy in candles though. Their OMH smells good OOB but I haven't actually tested that one. I have been getting a lot of stuff from AH/RE lately and have been liking them. I agree with celtic moonspice and their amish quilt is nice too. I like their angel food cake and badedas (more of a clean scent). I just got a sample of their vanilla crunch and it smells good oob but haven't had a chance to pour it, Not much help since i like too manuy suppliers.
  4. My post probably wasn't entirely clear. These are my tester jars. The ones I played with for scent and wicking. These aren't the ones I would show anyone. Most have been burned already and tested. Just hate to throw them all out and want to store them away for a rainy day to play with. I totally agree. My samples are kept inside.
  5. I think you are right. The more I thought about shortcake I felt like it needed to have something else in there!
  6. Clever idea and well executed.Love it. Way to go!
  7. I'd probably go with 5 pounds as well. I feel like that's enough to keep me personally stocked on the fragrance for a long time. I know you don't sell yet so that's probably not as bif of an issue. I probably wouldn't pour it all in candles. You may change your wax, container and many other things and wish you didn't have all your oil "tied up" so to speak.
  8. My first inclination was to make this candle red which I did. However the more I thought about it I wonder if it would look better pink or layered with red and white or some time of swirl. Anyone make this one and have some suggestions on what you do?
  9. True I would be scared at what I would find under there. Especially trying to stay cool in the summertime!
  10. Okay thanks. I knew it was a stupid question but I started worrying about it. And good point about the gas candybee. I have melted down a lot of the stuff I don't want to keep and gotten rifd of it but there are a few that I want to hang on ot smell later and see what I think. I know it will melt but that's okay. Thank you for putting my mind at rest.
  11. I know that living in Texas and especially in the summer I would never want to store any candles I would plan to sell in the garage due to melt issues. However I am trying to organize and get my tons of testers out of the house. I am not ready to melt down or part with them all yet in case I want to re-viist the container/ secent and so forth. I was thinking of storing them in some boxes in the garage but obviuosly it will be hot in the summer. I am not worried about a little melting as they are just testers. My big question is would it be dangerous in terms of flashpoint and fire? Maybe that sounds stupid and I doubt it would get that hot out there. I do know some oils have a lower flashpoint though so I started worrying about this. Probably stupid question but I would welcome thoughts!:tiptoe:
  12. I don't make soap so I am not sure how things soap but I think Relaxing by Brambleberry might make a nice male scent.
  13. I like their lemon bundt cake closeout. Did you like it. Thanks to you I am wanting to place an order to get the pineapple cilantro. I had a tester from a while ago and poured it after you were talking about it and really do like it. Probably order over the weekend. I agree on the Spiced Cranberry. Really like that one for fall! Oh I also want to try the sandalwood vanilla.
  14. Hmm. I just ordered a few of these to try out and just got them yesterday. That's discouraging.
  15. Well now I am excited because I have an order coming from AH tomorrow and I have a sample of this. Trying to find something in this category so I am encouraged!
  16. Okay this just goes to show you how tired I am tonight. I was thinking of socialite. Yes paparazzi would not be clean and upscale!
  17. Good suggestion. I would think of something like this too or something less "traditional". More clean and upscale sounds like a good fit. Cute name idea. I have been doing that lately too. I some up with a name I like and want to find a fragrance to match!
  18. There are a lot of good suppliers out there with good scents. I think like everyplace some are better than other. If you can tell us what type of scents you are looking for in terms of category-bakery, floral and so forth it might help a bit. I tend to buy from a few different places because I like different things at these places. I like Nature's Garden, Kentucky Candle, Aroma Haven, Peaks, Elements and there are other fragrances I like to get from other places too. For Monkey Farts I have Nature's Garden version and like it. I have heard good things about Bert's but they just recently got it back in stock after being out for awhile so I haven't tried that one yet.
  19. Sounds yummy. Can't wait to hear. I love all kinds of cake...bithday cake, angel food cake, you get the idea. I LOVE cake candles.
  20. Good to know. It must just be a very heavy oil. I am hoping that when I make a larger batch it will blend a little better. So weird as I have never had an oil do it to this extent.
  21. So I really like this now that I finally tested it out. One question though...for those that use this do you have a hard time incorporating it into your wax? I was working off my 2 oz sample and just ordered a larger bottle. I found that with the sample the oil totally seperated from my wax both times. I have never had this happen like it did with this fo. I even stirred it really well the second time. Just wondering if it's because I made a small batch and didn't have enough to really incorporate it.
  22. I find that a lot of them smell similar oob and in wax. However there are a few that definitely smell yucky oob but nice in wax. Off the top of my head I know frosted lime cupcake from NG is that way.
  23. I use this and don't need to wick up. What kind of dye are you using? I have found that fluorescent dyes clog the wicks so if you are using a bright pink it could be causing your problem.
