  1. I agree with Scented that the only way you will know if it is good is to try it. You could also compare it to other recipes that you find. Most companies usually test their products many times to see what works best for them. You could also do a test market with your perfected Bath Bombs and see which packaging works better foil or plastic or something else. Test, test, test & more testing is the success of most businesses. Good Luck!
  2. That should not have ruined your lotions.
  3. Rae were you on the TOG forum also?? Did you hear anything about the liners leaking & turning yellow after a few uses??
  4. Point Verda Soap website. What a great link thanks!!
  5. Congratulations!! You will enjoy even more as you make different soaps.
  6. The palm or lard is there to get a harder bar. If you don't want to use these just increase your Olive oil to cover the difference, it will take longer for the bars to harden, but they will be very hard after they cure. Why are you opposed to the palm? There was a very lively debate about this on another forum and it turns out that most of the negative info floating around is false and misleading.
  7. Oh my so sorry to hear about you losing your daughter!! http://www.tlcsoaps.com/oilshelf.htm http://www.fromnaturewithlove.com/resources/shelflife.asp check these to see about shelf life of oils
  8. It could also be a food allergy especially preservatives. It could also signal a thyroid problem or a kidney issue, But more than likely it is an allergic reaction.
  9. Oh OK I missed that . Sorry. Well now I guess I would try and rinse and save it if possible.
  10. I agree with scented about the insulation as it is glass and if you have ever had insulation on you it makes you itch like crazy. I sure would not want to wash my body with a possibility of spreading it in sensitive places . Believe me you itch and itch. I am however sorry to hear you lost your house and I'm sure more than just some soap & FO's. It is great you are OK though!
  11. Columbus Foods www.soaperschoice.com great for oils & butters. Great place and not to far from you.
  12. misty, there is a limit for paypal refunds. I was just going to say that. She better hurry up, if it is not to late already. Carol
  13. Great Idea!!Printing on the inside of the label!
  14. What does MP mean? Melt & Pour is all I can think of.
  15. Ok Now I "see" it. All I could see before was a small tin like you get lip balm in. Now I understand yours is more like a bar of soap & stored in a tin between uses. Nice I like that idea also, but if I'm going to sell these in Fla it will be in the winter only, which is the only time anyone would probably want them anyway. Unless they use them for massage.
  16. I live in South Florida so it is pretty hot here also, I was just curious how much HS increased her BW cause we both live in hotter climates. When you use tins for a molds are you selling them in the tin also? Do they then just pop them out to use or are they putting their finger inside to get it out? Sorry but I'm a visual person and for some reason I see a tin as being hard to use for a lotion bar unless you just use it as a mold & then pop it out to apply.
  17. Did you look at container & packaging company? Why not google double walled blue jars ??oz fill in the oz you want.
  18. Where can I buy Kokum butter? How much do you adjust BW for summer? And why would you want to put it in a tin over a twist up tube? I just bought some twist up tubes to try this lotion bar in.
  19. Just an idea ,but if I didn't have a handy guy around , I'd take the drawer to a local Home Depot or Lowes and have them measure a piece of 1/2 to 3/4 in thick piece of wood cut to fit inside the drawer then I'd put a drawer knob on top. If you wanted it more finished you could get some sand paper and sand the sides and top.
  20. Who was selling those molds?? I never saw them. Too bad I would have just made them for my kids.
  21. Wouldn't it be good to make a votive sample of the scents to see how they smell in the finished product? Sometimes FO's change and are not always pleasant or what you imagined OOB.
  22. I haven't tried making my own Laundry soap but I have tried many different commercial brands and have to agree strongly with the above statement. Tide cleans best. In fact I hesitate to make my own because I'm afraid it won't clean as well. I have 5 boys and I don't live on a farm so I can only imagine the dirt from the farm. We do spend our summers on our 92 acre home , not farm life but MUCH more grim/dirt. I pretreat with Shout, but have wanted to try oxiclean with Tide to see how that would work. Carol
  23. Looks like a nice place but there oils are quite expensive compared to Columbus Foods, not sure about the rest of her stuff. Do you all buy something special from here or just whatever??
