  1. I use CS's SS Cake in 464 and its lovely. Smells just like it tastes and get an excellent throw. Its light but not a huge room filler though. I sell a ton of it but its more for small rooms or kitchens.
  2. I use a kitchen scale to weigh the wax and my oils. I discovered a HUGE difference in say NG's oils. Some of theirs is thicker I noticed. I have several measuring tumblers for oils, but I still weight them all.
  3. hehehee...I named one of mine "One Night in Bangkok", yes like the song...and it sold like crazy. LOL Cranberry Marmalade I sold as "Night Before Christmas" but having a hard time renaming it as something else. However, just as the original name its still selling, especially for those who have already previously bought it. Its got a wonderful throw.
  4. I just got this in along with tiger lily and cantaloupe (which ROCKS), pillowfight and serendipity. I have to admit Lyschel is very awesome at customer service. I did wonder the same thing about strength as I like mine pretty smelly and the .5-.6 ounce per pound.
  5. Must get the BB Cake, Carrot Cake, and Summer Breeze...they are AWESOME and really anything Vicki has is good I found. I have been looking at the country gift shop but not sure on soy throw and what that smells like.
  6. I got their newsletter and they got some new oils, but some of them don't have descriptions. Makes me curious although I have a hard time with their stuff and getting it to throw in my soy. I must be picking the wrong ones. Also, man they have some really neat colored 8 ounce candle tins. I am definitely ordering some of those!
  7. Hmmm...I would think summer splash either a very bright blue, like maybe royal blue color? Yellow would work too, sunshine yellow. Flipflops just screams purple to me, like a light purple. Don't know why, but thats what I would do.
  8. Found another while ordering something new, ugh. Millcreek's Cinnamon Vanilla and CS Strudel and Spice are very very alike. OOB MC is a little stronger, but after putting it in wax, can't tell the difference between the two scented candles.
  9. Do you have the description? I sell Mrs. Claus Cookies all year long. During non-holiday times, its Warm Kisses. Sells like crazy. Made me think of how my mom used to smell when I kissed her and she had been baking cookies all day. Sometimes you just need to smell it after its in wax and think of what it reminds you of. Then you can draw a name from that reminder.
  10. I love love love Apple Butter from KY. BIG seller for me. Its really spicey and tons of apple in it...smells so good and fantastic throw. Not sure which type of spicey apple you are looking for but worth the sample bottle.
  11. yes...all I can say is BARF. This one ranked right up there with ginger snap cookies. I ordered samples of both and so glad I did....ginger snap cookies smelled like some type of ginger but lacked any cookie or anything described. lol The Cucumber one just didn't burn right to me and actually gave me a headache. My house smelled horrible for two days on that one little bottle. You aren't the only one.
  12. I recently got a bottle of cinnamon and vanilla from Millcreek. Lovely and strong, however smells exactly like Strudel and Spice from CS. I am upset over this as its a scent I already carry, and now have duplicates. I can use this in exchange for the strudel one, but now am in need of cinnamon and vanilla for orders already placed. Does anyone know of a good one that does not smell like a bakery/danish but smells like cinnamon and vanilla combined? I am not too good at mixing my own creations and would like to find a good mixed one already. TIA-
  13. I too have both CS C marm and Cozy home...first sniff, I was thinking man, its the same thing..but I think there is more of an apple scent to cozy where cranberry is in the marmalade...
  14. Mimosa and Mandarin CS and BC's Citrus Splash Millcreek Soy Candle Cozy Home smells similar to me like CS's Cranberry Marmalade.
  15. All their florals I am having total success with....just awesome and smell like really true flowers. Another good one is the strudel and spice. AWESOME and awesome throw. Someone mentioned Chocolate Fudge. It smells good OOB but hard to get it to throw even in a small bathroom. I tried every kind of wick under the sun and finally gave up. Didn't sell a one anyway and ended up selling it. The white tea and berries and white tea are awesome ones as well even though they only got a two leaf rating, I had wonderful success with the throw. The white tea smells almost identical to the green tea perfume by E. Arden? The white tea and berries is just a nice soothing and almost revitalizing scent..not sure how to describe it.
  16. I picked up a mulled cider from Mill Creek Soy Candle supply and although smells good OOB...it kinda has that alcoholic cough syrup smell to it like some of the apple pie FOs. It has the same spices, but no apple in it. I am gonna make it up today and see how it is in wax as you know it changes once in.
  17. I ordered a one ounce bottle from there and testing, it had a slight bitter chemical smell to it with 464 soy. Maybe just me don't know. I do believe I have tried everything they have now!! I just got rice krispy treats though and its really nice. Haven't burned it as its curing, but smells just like it! The fruit loops one is a huge seller for me. HTH
  18. Well as someone mentioned earlier, pollution is natural. But these are brand new boxes sealed with the brown tape. The wax looks clean and no problems there...just till you melt it. CS always is nice and a great way to get my wax being they are just over the mountain from me so the s/h is not bad at all on it. I was just surprised at the response and "well its not our fault-crap happens" excuse. My feeling is that if they sell it, they need to take some responsibility to at least perhaps calling the company and letting them know they have problems. Its not all the cases, just here and there. I just ended up with five total that had problems. Coloring in the candles can mask most of it, but where its very very noticeable is in the clam shell tarts. On the bottom portion of the squares you can really tell the junk in there. I have tried cheesecloth and a strainer, but that did not help much except removed most of the larger pieces of debris in there. The paint chips and black stuff you can get out, but the finer stuff is just about impossible.
  19. I was just wondering if anyone else is finding lots of crap in their wax from CS? I just recently bought a 100 pounds and it has all this black speck stuff, along with what looks like white paint chips and bits of tiny slivers of cardboard. When I pour it, I am trying to scoop out the little pieces but often miss it. When your candle is cool, in the glass you can see these pieces and they look horrible. This is the third batch from CS (btw am using 464 GW Soy) that has this stuff in it. When you look at the flakes though in the box you can't see this stuff. I am having to wipe down my melter pot after each pour where the stuff is settling on the bottom. I contacted Candle Science once before on this problem when I was using Ecosoya CB advanced and they just said basically it wasn't their problem. It was "the other company's fault" so therefore they are not liable for whatever is in the wax. Well this is really upsetting me because I should not have to be combing through my wax or trying to use cheesecloth, which by the way is a mess, to strain my wax. IN my opinion, if they sold it they should stand by it...but what do I know. Just wondered if I am the only one with bad luck?
  20. I would be interested in this too if you ever find one that smells like it. I get asked for this all the time, but so far I have tested mulled cider from NG-smells like bubble gum with some type of spices in it...and one other place and I can't remember where, but it was more like mac apple with cinnamon in it.
  21. Sigh....its a dud. I am so ticked off too. That was like 30.00 and not even for 16 ounces. Smells just like febreeze but in the candles you can't smell it. It didn't even get stronger with a 24 hr cure. I did make tarts same time as candle and the tarts I could definitely smell but only near the warmer. After two days of testing tarts, scent is completely out of it. What a crock...I ordered from WSP where I should have ordered to begin with.
  22. The white tea leaves and white tea and berries is awesome from Candle Science. I keep the white tea and berries all year and its just yummy. It only got a two leaf rating, but it does have a wonderful throw in 464.
  23. Hey girls...and guys if any! I ordered Febreze dupe on Save on Scents...never ordered from them before and knew I had seen it somewhere else. This fragrance has been a super seller for me...I am hoping or praying you will tell me SOS is a good company and this will hopefully have a nice throw in soy. It smells absolutely wonderful and strong OOB but just wanted opinions before I go messing with it. I bought the standard grade not knowing what the difference is and it had excellent reviews. Just wondered what ya'lls opinions were....Thanks in advance.
  24. Do you mind sharing where you get your jars/lids? Those are beautiful and i have been looking everywhere for those types of lids.... I saw these yanks as well and really was surprised...sad thing is, you have people that look at your own products and say, sheesh thats high. I got a yank candle for Christmas that I have been burning. (it was a gag gift) The thing has no scent what's so ever past 1/4 way down. It had severe wet spots and the wick is crooked in the jar. I would not give them 2.00 for this large candle. Its a shame really because they "used" to be halfway decent candles...wonder what happened?
  25. I just got flowering dogwood in from NG...its wonderful. I haven't put it in the wax yet but it got really good reviews. I also picked up Magnolia, hydrangea and some other florals for the spring. Daffodils is also out there and I also picked up tulips from NG...smells like tulips.
