  1. I would even mix Pumpkin Pie and Lavender together? Never before have I ever heard of this, but a customer is wanting these two scents together. I have only used NG's Pumpkin Pie, should I go with something a little sweeter? I think NG's would be too dense for such a combo. Some pumpkin pies I have smelled seem really unsweet to me, and think it would not go well. Any ideas or suggestions besides saying yuck as I have? LOL Thanks!
  2. Count me in on bad experiences. The oil was so thin and no scent at all. The bottle looked like it had been through a dumpster before packaging. Won't order again.
  3. I ordered all the new ones...the watermelon kicks butt. Someone gave a bad review but to me it smells like real melon with the rind and all. Kinda like when you cut one open and the scent just sorta hangs in the air for that split second? I also got Choc Chip Cookie and holy moly, I must have sniffed this bottle 30 times...its amaaaaaazing. Hoping it will smell like this in wax or better. Its the closest I have ever seen to the real thing. Kiwi is so fresh and clean and is strong, Fig tree is really fig like and very earthy...I really like this one. I also got some i haven't tried like the Sweet Pea and Vanilla, wonderful! Got the Amber Asian, and really really like it too. I have to say though, I am impressed on the watermelon..lets hope in testing it holds up to the 3 leaf rating it had!!
  4. I use CS Gardenia and wow a strong fragrance. Also another seller for me. This is the first year I have been doing florals and CS gardenia, honeysuckle and jasmine, sweet pea and vanilla, have all been great sellers.
  5. me too. I use about 1 ounce per pound and it seems to me that it does get stronger in cure time than when you pour it. This has been a great seller for me with constant repeat buys....I have some who would def let me know if it had a fuel like smell to it.
  6. I like CS's...its really nice w/o having that candy smell to it.
  7. Eeeks! Good think you corrected me Barbara!! Sorry about that OP. I call mine a similar name and well, musta had a brain lapse on this thread. LOL It was summer breeze. I will have to try that Clothesline Fresh then next order.
  8. I haven't used MC's but KY's is exactly like Gain/laundry detergent scent. Its really strong and wonderful. If its a gain scent, then perhaps they are the same.
  9. I still have the ones you asked me to hold for you set aside from candle science. Was not sure if you still wanted them or not.
  10. I have had this issue but on only some of my oils....I noticed too the faster (like too cool in the building) it seems like the center is not setting up and gets somewhat sloshy but still wet looking even though the rest is ok. Once dried, it is smooth except the center where it looks mottled. I think its the FO's and I noticed on some that I have recently ordered, they have been doing this....even though never had issues with those exact oils before in the past. I heat mine to 185 and pour at 120 as supplier directed, because cooling/pouring milky and sloshy wasn't setting up nicely...my candles come out nice and creamy smooth tops...its just recent. Don't know if its the wax or the oils these days.
  11. Thanks all! I just know occasionally Priority even though you pay for three day service, it can take up to five business days depending on state according to USPS. Just seemed like mail was taking longer and the hotter states had big melted messes. I don't mind shutting down the summer months as it gives me time for my family and a much needed break before the candle season really begins for fall and Christmas but I have some who wish I could stay open and still ship. Other than overnight which no one will pay, wasn't sure how everyone was doing it with any candles and just curious. I guess some could have them shipped to offices but I think what is getting us is transporting to and from. Like it could stay in the back of an 18 wheeler for two days where it gets really hot. See what I am saying? Some even though they are stalking the mailman and waiting to grab the box as delivered, are still melted. Not as bad as some like hot states, but still melted. I switched from CB advanced to 464 so wasn't sure if this would make a difference or not.
  12. Its actually nice to have one I think because most of my money is in PP and now i can access when purchasing candle stuff w/o waiting on transfers. Mine looks like a credit card too and never had to use it as debit unless in a store store. It just accepts it as a MC or whatnot. Plus I like getting the cash back bonus on it especially when using it for shipping items, and large candle supply orders....2 or 3.00 here and there can add up!
  13. Thanks Ladies...I make candles with 464 and have had some in states like TX and AZ that say during the hotter months, the candles get really melted. Now some of my customers will stalk the mailman as I only use priority for them, but others may work and leave their stuff out in the open all day until they return. Its just those hotter states that get me, but yet have a ton of people I sell to out that way. Just wondered what I was doing wrong.
  14. Summer Breeze is a HUGE seller for me. To me it smells sorta like Gain but wowzers on a throw in soy! You can smell it all over the house. Birthday cake is a huge seller for me and the Apple butter I can't make enough of. Their home made apple pie is the bomb in soy and throws like crazy too. I only order these from there. I just tried the peach pie filling OOB its great, but haven't gotten it into wax yet. I haven't tried much else but these four are must haves I won't go anywhere else for.
  15. Hi, I usually shut down for the summer months due to heat. I noticed though some places online are open all year long. I do all my business online and ship all over the U.S. Unfortunately, some states like TX, AZ, NM I can't ship to until almost end of Oct and have to stop around next month if it has not gotten hot by then. I don't know any other way to keep it running. Any suggestions or ideas? I checked into UPS but they are still the same as priority mail with two three day deliveries and longer. Thought ya'll might know....Thanks for any ideas or help!
  16. Hey I just got my order in from Backwoods, and WOW! I am impressed. Can't wait to see the results in my soy...but so far OOB they are strong and fantastic! I ordered: Brambleberry Thumbprint Cookie Tin Roof Sundae (OMG lovely) Buttery Croissant Lilac and Linen (love love love this one) Breeze in the Keys Amazing Grace Dupe Pumpkin Cornbread I am really impressed so far..have to wait to see how they do in the wax. The tin roof one though smells just like the real thing and you can really pick up on the peanuts, but not that fakey peanut smell. Reminds me how a sundae cone from Mayfield's smells like.
  17. Its really nice....I sell quite a bit of these. It smells just like SSC would taste. Nothing fakey about it.
  18. I have come across this too. I have been using the same companies now for three years straight, so I know their oils like the back of my hand. I have started noticing some of my "top sellers" not being up to parr like in the past and where some oils are thicker, now are thinner and not so smelly OOB as they were knock your socks off. I have called before, and somehow they spin this as my fault too. I keep thinking, what the heck am I doing wrong here? I also noticed I am having oils that are not mixing into the wax or burning like they used to, but have never had any issues at all with any of them before. I know the economy is bad, but jeez people....ya think if you mess around with this stuff, people like us are gonna notice and then just simply go somewhere else. So while saving a little bit here and there by cutting corners, you are more than likely gonna lose a whole lot of long time customers who KNOWS when something is not right....not to mention getting the blame for it too.
  19. I did a search on here so I would not bring up another "been there five million times" thread, but am looking for an Amazing Grace dupe that throws great in soy. I use 464 GW and have WSP version now. I sell it like crazy in soap and now have a lady who wants to buy 2 cases of candles if I can find it for candles. I tried WSP's in soy but just could not get a throw for anything. It's very light. I know some of you mentioned Backwoods, Sweet Cakes in the past. Anyone know if these do well in soy wax? TIA
  20. Ky has one too. I haven't smelled it but always curious about it.
  21. I have one called Under the Sheets and it sells outrageously crazy! Mostly people buy it due to name. I would totally buy a candle called Foreplay.
  22. I use NGs in m&P soap and its great. Customers love it and it lasts. Not a good throw in candles though...very very light. I wear this perfume and it smells exactly like the perfume....
  23. I sell a TON of pineapple passion from KY and Caribbean Craze and Butt Naked from NG. All these are killer throws in my soy and can't keep them made. Sex on the beach I just have a hard time selling and I don't know why....I am also seeing a big pick up in bubblegum as well for some reason.
  24. on the mix ratio, I don't know yet as I was making two pots. I know one I used .08 ounces in the caramelized pralines and then mac apple was doing two pounds, so one ounce. I would think a 50/50 would be a good start.
  25. So freaking awesome. I was making caramelized pralines from CS the other day and had that pot sitting to cool down. I then needed to make BC's mac apple and poured my oil in tumbler for measurement and proceeded to dump it in my already ready carm pralines. I was so upset. I only made a small batch of the other as it was just two candles needed, but still. With the added mistake, I could not use it for candles so made tarts from it. AWESOME It smells like the richest caramel apple rolled in nuts you will ever get. During the Fall, caramel apple is a big hit for me..but nothing I have purchased FO wise compares to this. Its devine. Thought I would share my screwup made fabulous with you.
