  1. I have been eyeballing the chocolate covered strawberries now for awhile...does anyone know who's is the best and which throws best in soy 464 nicely? I was thinking this might make a nice VD one.
  2. thanks ladies....I have several NG, BC, and KY scents...I just needed to weigh whats left but hate to short someone due to the bottle. Thanks again!!
  3. BUT does anyone know how much the plastic bottles that FOs come in weigh? I want to weigh some I have put up for sale or for trade and don't know how much to deduct for the bottle. Its the standard plastic bottles in 8 ounce and 16 ounce sizes with the white lids/pouring flip up top. Oddly, one supplier didn't know and the other never answered my question. TIA!!
  4. You know I keep looking at that dragon's blood...but the name I am afraid would turn people away and if its incense like, definitely a no.
  5. http://www.vanyulay.com/ this is her. I know at one time she has some really pretty flower shaped ones with tons of details in them. I actually considered getting one for soaps.
  6. wow....that sure was a lot of "something or anothers" in one little paragraph! Sorry...too early for me and not enough coffee yet!!
  7. I looked at doing those, but I just don't have time! Some really spiffy ones are on ebay but $$ for the silicone molds. They have a wide selection. I did buy one from the Soap mold guy...or was it mold guy? LOL Its a silicone apple with the little seeds showing. It was like 9.00 for that one with six cavities and so easy to use...but the more detailed, the more expensive. I really haven't looked much outside of Ebay but thought I might pass that on. I think I just typed in silicone molds or something along those lines. I know one lady and you will see her a lot on there, Van something or another has beeeee-uuutiful tart molds in the shapes of flowers. HTH.
  8. You can ship from Oct-April which begins the rainy/Winter seasons in Iraq and Afghanistan w/o melting. Anything before or after that they will melt.
  9. What are your top fives and from who? I am tired of the same old and looking into new stuff. My faves so far: CS cotton candy KY Birthday Cake CS Strudel and spice NG Magnolia KY Homemade Apple Pie I could go on but think those are my fave. I do have a lot of bakery scents and trying to branch out more. I did order a ton of florals from CS and very very happy with them...anything else I should look into that are good sellers for you?:rolleyes2
  10. I belong to an army community that can definitely use these candles. Believe it or not, the guys and gals stationed overseas love candles. Soldier's Angels might be an option for you, or I can give you about 50 women's names and addies that are in desperate need of a "pick me up" while their husbands are deployed. Just another idea to toss out there.
  11. I tried the banana pudding from NG and just could not get a throw at all in 464 wax. I don't know if it was me, but it smelled more like banana laffy taffy. I have tried NGs cinnamon buns but the one I like and sells faster than I can make it, is CS Cinnamon Buns. Everyone always comments how good the cold throw is and how awesome it is lit. Hope that helps.
  12. I ordered Amazing Grace from WSP and its wonderful in soaps but not too good in soy candles. Can't get a throw out of it and thats weird because I have never had any issues with their stuff, but do know they have that.
  13. I think a good smoke and odor would be nice as well. Especially when your disposal is not so fresh. Also I read this is safe for disposals, septic systems and pipes.
  14. NG has a cinnamon stick that says you can use it in lotions, soaps etc. I would be leary though just because the oil eats my hands up making candles because of sensitive skin. Can't imagine a cinnamon stick lotion.
  15. Hmmm...I will have to check that out. I have been using NG's Mrs. Claus Cookies now for two years and its supposed to be "like" vanilla bean noel but to me it smells nothing like it. However, that is one of the bigger Christmas sellers I have. TNC has quite a few I am looking at but will definitely go on over and do some sniffing. Thanks ladies!!
  16. Thanks Ladies! I have been wondering about them for two years now and actually looked online at their site several times before realizing they were in my area. I just wondered how the quality of their stuff was. They have a nice oil selection just wondered how the throw was. I hate to buy stuff and no throw. The dried apple wreath, thats more of a fall item right?
  17. I sell tons of this stuff...and I can't stand to make it either. It always gives me a headache but for some reason, I sell a ton of candles all year long and most of the time, it sells faster than I can make them. Blue sugar on the other can't pay someone to take it.
  18. I can't sell anything with pear in it and I really do like it...the only luck I have had is with NG's Pearberry and mostly in soaps. I know it throws very nicely in 464 GW and the soap is pretty amazing with the scent in it.
  19. I have been reading most of ya'lls threads and it seems you are dead on with some that I already have....so am asking for some advice/opinions on some fragrances I am looking at. I have never ordered from TN candle Supply and some of you keep mentioning it. Its in the same town as I am and just curious on how the throw is and quality of their oils. I can go pick it up rather than pay for shipping.... OR if you have a suggestion on other companies you like better? I am using Golden Wax 464 Soy and most of my oils are from NG. I am just finding after two years, that some of the oils just don't do as well as they used to. Also, looking to change a few things up this year. Any help with this is greatly appreciated. Here are the ones I am looking at: Cinnamon Sugar Midsummer's Night Dream Gee Your Hair smells terrific Honeydew and summer berries Lemon Cheesecake Spicey Apple and Peaches White Cake Yummy Chocolate I am in search of a good cake scent too. I have Birthday cake from KY which everyone adores and throws so well for me....but am looking for a good plain cake like yellow. So many choices out there. Also, in need of suggestions for Valentines Fo's and am in need of a "Hooah" candle for some of my fellow army wife candle lovers! Any manly man scent comes to mind for this one? Come on ladies with your expert noses, I need some ideas!!!
  20. Monthly Craving Calmer? How bout just "The PMS Candle"? Sometimes simply naming it is the way to go. Number one, you are gonna have people drawn to it just because of the name...they are gonna have to pick it up and smell it. I did a special order recently for a teacher and named it "Gum Under the Desk"...in Bazooka Bubble Gum from NG. It truly has been a huge seller for me. "Gum on the Bed Post" as well. "Aunt Flo's Candle" is cute too. LOL
  21. I have had several and did get a hold of one lady there not too long ago. She was not only hateful but got rude with me! I was really upset over that. I ordered the Apple Dumpling in smaller bottles. Got it, made it...really awesome. I sold every single one I had and went back to order more in the 16 ounce size. I got it in, and it smelled exactly like their cinnamon stick. I thought, maybe its just me...but sure enough, my husband came home and noticed right off the bat. He said thats not the dumpling one. I called and she got mad and said that I was mistaken and that there was no swap or mixup. I told her it had absolutely no apple or crust smell to it like before and she said, "well we can't have it all" then hung up on me. I was really mad because I spend quite a bit of money with them and noticed on several occasions that stuff has been changed or did not smell like before. My customers have also noticed the difference and will not buy the "swapped" scent ones.
  22. Finally got access here!! Whoohooo! I'm kat and was told about this place from a friend. Excited to be a part of this site! I found one but you can only talk about their products, and well they don't have it all! lol I use the 8 ounce tins, which are great. I ordered from Candle Science and this was before I knew about rusting issues with certain FO's. I can use most of them with no problems, but some are severely rusting out not only the tins but the lids as well. It just looks ugly. I need a place that sells the tins that won't rust. One place I have been buying here in TN sells tins that are specially designed to not rust...however, with taxes and shipping which is really high although in state...its making these babies about 1.50 each and getting too expensive. Just wondered if there is something I can do or if you know of other places where the tins don't rust? Aztech is the place I have been getting them and so far, no discoloration at all or rusting. Thanks all and Nice to meet ya!
  23. hi...new here! It's a scam. I have gotten about six from several people including the Amato lady doing "baskets" and wants to make sure my stuff is good quality. http://en.kioskea.net/faq/sujet-273-scam-business-emails
