  1. Thanks everybody for your help. I feel like my recipe is balanced as far as cleansing vs. conditioning. BUT.... I have never tried the calendula. What does calendula actually do to help the soap to be more conditioning?? ...and how do you infuse it into Olive oil? Thanks, Vanessa
  2. I have 5 kids & 2 of them seem to have a sensitivity ( itching) to my soap. Following is a list of my ingredient - tell me what you think the culprit is: Olive oil - 32% Lard -28% Coconut oil - 15% Palm kernel flakes - 15% Castor oil - 5% Shea butter -4% Bees wax - 1% Really like the recipe, thinking it's the coconut that's the problem. If my own kids have trouble with coconut - how many others have trouble with it???
  3. Moonshine, I like BCN's cool water. Even the name fits for what you want. Vanessa
  4. PEAK BRV here also. Hot throw is great in 415. But...cp soap in peaks BRV I cannot keep in stock, always have to keep making that one - a top seller! Vanessa
  5. 1. PEAK 2. BITTERCREEK N. 3. tie between BRAMBLEBEERY & OT Vanessa
  6. Thanks all, Maybe I will try a other batch & up the FO to .08. If I still don't like will use for melts. Vanessa
  7. Anyone have any experience with this?
  8. Hi all, Heard ALL the great reviews on OT's chai tea. I soaped this x2 @ .6 oz/pound first batch - 1 month old smells like chai BUT is so weak!! 2nd batch - 2 weeks old is stronger at this time BUT smells like pumpkin right now. I tested both in the shower. Lol. MY QUESTION - I know this is an FO That I should not go higher on because of the cinnamon - I don't want anyone to have skin issues using my soap!! How is this such a big seller for you chai people if it cannot be smelled at .5 or .6 oz/ lb? WILL it get stronger as time goes? Not likely? TIA - Vanessa
  9. Where to begin... Many of their FO's r wonderful. The following I use in cp soap: Cedar & saffron Cranberry fig Santas spruce Oatmeal, milk & honey Sensuous sandalwood Smokey patchouli Yuzu Sea moss Lavender, lemongrass, peppermint, patch & orange eo That should give you a good start, vanessa
  10. Part of picking your staple scent could have to do with where you live. Live by the ocean , make sea moss, or ocean your stores scent, live north, make north woods your scent. Vanessa
  11. I wick that wax in square masons with either an Eco 12 or cd 12 or 14. The Eco seems to burn hotter and is used with my stronger FO's
  12. Thanks Jenn, I will try lowering the FO amount & see what I get.
  13. Thanks all, After trying a few pumpkins I also have found cs soufflé to work the best for melts - lasting for a couple days! Vanessa
  14. Hi all, My family is starting to complain about all the scents lingering in the house. I wish I could work in a separate building, but who can afford that! Anyone else have family complaints?
  15. Jenn, you use it at 6% for tarts? How long will your tart last?
  16. Hi all, I really love hansel & gretels House CS! BUT....not getting great length with this for melts. 10% FO. Anyone tell me their experience with this OR is there a gingerbread type FO that will give me a longer throw in melts? Tia, vanessa
  17. Chris, How long will that pumpkin last in a burner?
  18. Have you tried it in melts? Does it hold up long?
  19. Hi all, Looking for a pumpkin for melts that will throw for at least 12 hours. So far I have tried Peaks spiced pumpkin, bcn's perfect pumpkin & CS soufflé. CS is the best so far, but still not as good as id like. P.S. im using 4794 70% and 4630 30% TIA - Vanessa
  20. Bittercreek north - their creme brûlée I'd the best!
  21. Hi there, I use that combo. 70%4794 and 30%4627. I have not tried a lot of other waxes for clams, but I do know that my testers and those that have purchased tell me that they get a good amount of time out of them. Some scents lasting for a good week or more. Repeat customers telling me they last longer than s****sy, which I myself have never tried. There have been some complaints about 4794 - maybe my good results have to do with the addition of 4627. HTH Vanessa
  22. Thanks blacktie, Actually, I use parrafin for tarts. A blend of 4794(70%) & 4627(30%) nice creamy tarts. I ask this question because I find that an FO that may work for me in a parrafin candle - an example would be BC's buttered rum, will not last long for me in a tart. SO - wondering if there is a thread specific to FO's that work great(long lasting) for tarts/melts. So far I have found that bcn's cedar & saffron and vanilla bean are wonderful in melts. Peaks pink sugar also is strong with lasting power. Any others? Vanessa
  23. Hi all, Wondered if there has been a post concerning the best fragrances that people have Found works for melts/tarts. Tried the search, but didn't come up With anything. TIA Vanessa
  24. Wow! Thanks. I definitely understand what you are saying. I won't be selling this! I am going to make it for myself & family though - I hate deet! Vanessa
  25. So can I label it differently to be able to sell it? It seems like some on here sell something of the sort. All natural product to ward off bugs. Vanessa
