  1. I finally received my new molds the other day and put my lady into one of them. The pic is not the best quality, it was taken with available lite so you could see it burning.
  2. Greetings from the old feller up north. Happy birthday Tucker (#75 today)
  3. I don't know where in the world you I, but, The next time you're in Ontario Canada be sure to drop by and help me build some displays exactly the same as yours and we'll probably both get rich. Your displays are nothing short of FANTASTIC.
  4. You get first prize today for that beauty. All you have to do to get your prize is...send me the candle and I'll forward your prize. It's awsome.
  5. Well gang. I learned something yesterday. THANKS TO CORENCE. I've been printing my pix on HP heavy matte premium photo paper at $1.50 a sheet. Corence suggested she used BRITE WHITE paper. I tried it today and it's fantastic, every thing else is the same. Glue stick the Krylar and the best part is the candle will glow thru, whereas with the photo paper, forget it. Good luck to all that try it.
  6. Many thanks to all that responded. "it's as clear as mud now". You know what! I really don't give a damn at this point in time. I get them, winter, summer, spring and fall in all of my pre blends (I don't add anything to them). So far every thing burns well and looks almost good so to heck with it, to be honest, "I think a few fingernails look sorta kool"
  7. Very interesting. I like them all, and, if this is your first attempts, you are well on your way to making some fantastic 'canes. Keep the pix comming, but I would suggest you post them in the pic section, you'll get more response there.
  8. I've got a GREAT idea Satin. Don't HUG the candle, "hug me", then we'll all feel better. (smile)
  9. Hey Ducky, I agree 100%. The black candle I showed last week with the spiffy lady on it was wickless HURRICANE wax (unscented) It was fine for a few days and today it started to show fnails. I've also had the odd pillar showing slightly. Personally I think it's pretty spiffy (but definitely not rite)
  10. Way to go CORENCE, looks good to me. Fun isn't it? Darlatoms...I just use regular stick glue. I've had a couple here for a couple months and they seem to be holding up OK. Cheers, and thanks for the mention.
  11. Looks good so far. Like Cranberry girl said "dump the melted wax out of the burn, pop in a votive or tea lite (my favorite thing) and voila "a keepsake candle"
  12. I know it's been discussed before but I can't find it. I made a pic candle with hurricane wax (a pillar with pic glued on) it's now starting to fingernail. Altho it looks kinda purty, WHY ????????
  13. Accidents do happen, lets hope they keep happening for you, they look great. What a way to end 2005, more accidents in 2006.
  14. To all that have posted their thoughts "I thank you", it makes a guy feel good to get a response from his peers. The black dye is liquid and I loaded it because it will never be burned so it won't plug the wick. I have a hole in the top to accomodate a tea light. Did I ever mention, " I LOVE MAKING TEA LITES" (smile)
  15. What every one else says AND DOUBLE IT. They are great, I hope you keep notes so ya can keep 'em comming, post more pix, we all love 'em.
  16. I gave up on the hurricane. Here's the swell pic on a black pillar.
  17. YEAH. The family one is great, but, I would raise it (centre it) a little more, would look a lot better. The first one, (well you already know about that one). All in all, I think you are doing very well, congrats on them both.
  18. Thank you all for the support. I'm gonna put it on a BLACK pillar tomorrow. The pic was found while browsing the web, I really don't remember where it came from.
  19. Well gang, ya'll came thru again. Off to Michaels tomorrow to get my some matte Krylon spray and have a go at some paintin'. Damn, there's just no end to the fun things ya can do with this hobby. Thanks all,
  20. Recently I saw some candles with a scene painted on them. WHAT KIND OF PAINT WAS USED??????
  21. Absolutely beautiful, great candle and a great thought. Sorry for your loss.
  22. Hi gang.Sorry Mozzie, have no idea what they're called. The ones I've seen on the net were something like the lids from a PRINGLES Chip can only they looked like black plastic, they fit snugly on the bottom of a three inch pillar. MARY, I'd be delighted if you could find them, I'll gladly pay you whatever, I'll take 2 or 3 dozen if that's the price. Thanks all. Tucker
  23. Anyone know where I might find something like this. I've seen smaller ones that look like plastic that fit a 3 inch pillar perfectly and they looked reasonably cheap.
  24. I got a real bright idea today. Why not make a black hurricane white a mainly whit pic. Well, to show you how really dumb I am "I tried it". Stupid or what? I put lots of black dye in my wax mix, poured the wax into the mold, added the pic, and the damn thing disappeared. When I unmolded, you guessed, the pic was on the bottom of the mold. Back to the drawing board on that one. Here's the pic...... http://img410.imageshack.us/my.php?image=darkqueen3kp.jpg
  25. Are we talkin Coca Cola or the other "COKE"?
