  1. Bahaha I will totally do that, on all accounts! 🤪
  2. I’ve never let her pick any out but she always tells me what types of scents she wants. I’ll have to let her pick a couple. She is the first one to open the boxes when they come. She smells the oils before I do. 😂
  3. If I remember correctly from years ago polypropylene #5 on the bottom in the recycle
  4. This is so sad 😩 so much has changed the last 5-8 years.
  5. OMG these are absolutely adorable and creative. I would think they’d totally sell good! My only fear would be the companies coming after me for using their bottles/cans. I’m totally going to be buying some of these for Christmas gifts. Screw my own 😂 now I gotta figure out how to save you on amazon 🤔
  6. And my 11 year old daughter is helping. I think I might be creating a monster with her lol we’re currently making all from NG sweet orange and chili pepper candy cane bluberry muffins eucalyptus spearmint apple crisp i think shes gonna take over 😂
  7. Well from what I’ve been reading the last couple days about a year or two ago, soy changed and not for the good. 🤷🏼‍♀️ The 415 I had was ordered September 2017. But I’m only making melts this time around so I can’t help much with candles but my first pour of 415 for melts was Monday. Gonna let them cure a couple more days before I test them and have my couple testers do so as well. From everything I gathered so far ky parasoy tart/votive wax is the same as the flaming candles problend 650. I keep wanting to say you used to use the ky parasoy for melts? And yes this forum definitely doesn’t move as much as it did. And I’m not having good luck using the search bar.
  8. I bought some 1oz samples to test in 415 and problend 650. Tobacco caramel pumpkin pecan waffles bourbon butterscotch asain sandalwood rosemary mint smoked vanilla piped tobacco gold rum these are way different than the typical scents I would’ve ordered 5-8 years ago. My nose and taste apparently has changed that much lol if anyone has any reviews on these or suggestions on others to try from here or better oils in these scents elsewhere please chime in. 😊
  9. I ended up buying 10# from FC to test. 🤞🏼
  10. This is what I ended up getting. All 1 oz. monkey mouth - was one of my favs back in the day toasted marshmallow apple pumpkin strudel barbershop bonfire bliss bora bora butterscotch marshmallow coffee house cuban tobacco French vanilla and oak maple glazed bacon pipe smoke rustic lodge
  11. Heyyyyy!! You were here years ago when I was here. I just came back as well. I’m still hanging onto my GW 415 but just ordered some problend 650 that I’ve NEVER heard of to try. Forewarning you, EVERYTHING has changed in 5 years for me. 😱
  12. I need to order from here to get a couple of my old KY favorites. But hate to order just a couple. What are some of your favorites from here?
  13. I have but when I click a thread to read then hit the back button to go back to search results it tells me I have to wait 18 seconds to search again. Then I have to research and it does it again. 😩
  14. Does anyone use these? Can you tell me how you like them? Pros/cons? Also if anyone has tried them but didn’t care did them. Thinking about testing this wax but I’m not 100% sure yet.
  15. Hey everyone. It’s been a LONG time. I stopped making candles for about 5 years. I wanna start making my own melts again. For me and close friends and family. I always used GF 415, but curious on ky 133. I was reading soy has changed in the last couple years. Has anyone who used 415 changed to a parasoy blend and feels it’s better than 415? Any suggestions on a really good blend or is anyone still super impressed with 415? I have 20# of 415 I ordered a year ago to start making my own again that I used last night to make a few different scents in. Just waiting for them to cure a bit before I burn them.

    M&P Recipes

Okay loving this thread.. AGAIN lol Looking at C&S at MP soap bases and they have TONS compared to 6 years ago when I was buying them lol. Wondering which goats milk is better, theirs or Stephensons? (keeping this bumped to re read tomorrow when kids are in school, I know I missed a lot with my 9 year old talking my ear off lol)

    Best base?

So I'm an old member but I am wanting to get back into soap making after 5-6 years off. So wondering how much has changed when it comes to MP bases, is SFIC still the better/best or did another supplier come up with something newer and better? I want something with good lather, good moisturizing and isn't soft. It's just going to be a hobby ( my stress reliever ) But I have sensitive skin as well as my kids. I always used goats milk in the past, but whatever base will give the the best combination of those I will use. And after all this time please tell me someone now sells CP bases?? LOVED doing CP but I just dont have the time these days to dedicate to making it from scratch anymore. I've done numerous searches but I'm not having much success yet because I'm not used to this new format for the site. Thanks in advance!
  18. instead of using the full water amount I used half water and half milk. but added the lye to the water first until it cooled enough to add the milk without scorching it. the full amount of water is 17.24 i believe (id have to look downstairs) I use 8.24 water and 9 oz goats milk. it only happens when I add the lye to the 8.24 oz water but as soon as i stir it goes away but will come back until I add the goats milk to it then its fine
  19. Thanks! I was hoping someone would understand my ramblings lol. My lye is from essential depot. Maybe it is the container, it's used strictly for my lye solution but I usually just rinse it out not fully wash it. My water is 8.24 oz and my lye is 6.7 oz. I'll wash out my container real good and try it again and see. It's only like a thin like crusty layer that goes away after stirring. Almost like tiny flakes coming together to make a thin film. If it does it again I'll snap a pic. I really want to add my milks like you do so they don't overheat but was worried about doing that until I figured out what was going on with the lye water.
  20. Okay so my last few batches I have been using 50% water and 50% goats milk. I mix the lye in with the water first to get it dissolved and I try to wait till the solution has cooled to add the goats milk and by then the lye water has a thin whitish coating like the lye isnt fully dissolved. I stick blend the heck out of it and it it goes clear again like its dissolved and after sitting it gets that thin coat again. I would like to start adding the goats milk/coconut milk directly to the melted oils at a thin trace but I am worried that this thin coating is because there isn't enough liquid with just the water to fully dissolve the lye. I hope I am making sense lol Has anyone ever had this issue? It's fine when I add the milk, it's just when the full liquid amount isn't added in the beginning.
  21. Well if thats a "oops" I would love to have the same lol Very pretty!
  22. maybe parchment? I've never seen butchers.
  23. almost looks like wax or freezer paper
  24. Yeah the bottles were little samples and I had to use 1/2-3/4 for some colors for 3-4 pound batches. Which is probably average usage for liquid samples? Not sure I've always used Micas before but even those I've noticed I've been adding more than I used to to get bold/ vibrant colors
  25. Eco electronics from nurture soaps. That's what I used for the blue and white bars. 24.95 for. 1 oz samples of like 5-6 colors
