  1. Sounds like I need to learn to live with it. I've also been trying CB Advanced and can't seem to get a decent hot throw. It do get smooth tops and is smooth when it cools after burning. I may make the decision to go back to GB464 and get good hot throw and live with it.
  2. Do GB444 & GB415 behave the same? I've tried GB464 and get smooth tops when I pour. What I wasn't crazy about was after burning and the wax hardened, it looks like cottage cheese. I'm wondering if the other two do the same thing. Thanks. Luanne
  3. I just talked to someone at Bittercreek. Only Bittercreek South (Texas) has closed. Bittercreek North (Wisconsin) is staying open.
  4. If airfare wasn't almost $500 from NJ, I would be there in a heartbeat. I would love to go. Luanne
  5. Thank you everybody. I'm going to try cutting the beeswax in half, and if that doesn't produce what I'm looking for, I will probably just continue with the 464 alone, or try CB-Excel. Luanne
  6. Thanks Old Glory. I may give up on adding the beeswax. I'm trying to get smooth tops after burning, but no luck so far. I'll burn again tomorrow and see how it goes. The jar is a 3" diameter, 12 oz. status jar. Luanne
  7. This is my first 3 hour burn. 1 oz of Peaks Birthday Cake (smells great), per lb of 464 & 2tbls. beeswax. CD 18 wick, 12 oz status jar. I didn't get a full meltpool. Is this typical of a first burn? Also, as soon as I lit the wick, it curled (of course the side the wick curled towards has a full meltpool). Is that a trait of CD wicks? I'm also thinking of trying a RRD wick. Hope the picture attached. Thanks. Luanne
  8. My brother is testing my wax melts for me. I gave him a 6 pack clamshell of Candle Science Pumpkin Souffle to test. He keeps his warmer on 24/7. 1 square lasted exactly one week (168 hours). Does that sound like a long lasting melt?
  9. I took all 3 batches out of the molds Tuesday night. Cut them last night. The Coconut Milk (from Peak) and the Blueberry Cobbler (Aztec) were good. I should have waited until today to cut the Energy (Brambleberry). It was still a little soft, but it was a learning experience. The swirls came out good though.
  10. I finally bit the bullet and made my first batch of CP soap on Sunday. How long should it stay in the mold and when should I cut it? I've been told after it comes out of the mold to wait another couple of days before cutting, but from what I've read, it looks like I could do it right away. Now I'm confused.
  11. I agree with Old Crab. The East Coast would be great. If Candles & Supplies has there's, that could be doable for me. They are about 2 hours from me.
  12. Teresa - They look great. How did you get such a great red color for your Apple Harvest?
  13. Candybee - Silly question, but does the blue Chamomile give the soap a blue color/tinge?
  14. TallTayl - I'm new to soapmaking. Can you tell me how to do the Camomile infusion and where I would get Chamomile flowers? Also, which ouil would I use with this, or is that personal preference? Feel free to PM me. Thanks. Hope this doesn't sound too stupid.
