So I started test burning peppermint and love spell and couldn't get a ht from them either. I put a black raspberry vanilla melt in the warmer and it covered my downstairs and upstairs within an hour. 2300 sq ft. I could smell it coming up the basement stairs as well. I finally got my cd wicks in so I pulled the htp from the candles and put the cds in. Will start test burning with those today to see if that helps. I am also getting my 6006 in today too.

Put some peg board on one of the walls so you can hang stuff. I put pics of my workshop on the business side of things forum last week. Pretty sure it was that forum if u want to take a peek. I was just starting the set up, I'll update the pics tomorrow

Hmmm I wonder how much it would cost to have it shipped to me compared to candle science. I live in Erie so it's only a couple hours.

Where would this be? I am only a couple hours north of pittsburgh.

oh one more question. Are you guys heating your jars? I am not. wondering if that could be causing the difference, although 65-70% of mine still come out with smooth tops.

maybe I got a bad batch then. I am having one heck of a time with sink holes near the wick and the cinnamon candle when I first lit it ( top looked awesome ) once it started burning you could see an air bubble.sink hole under the top coat. It's driving me nuts lol. I made the cinnamon Tuesday evening and started testing today. Since I am leaving for the weekend I will wait until monday to do another burn on it. that'll make 5 full days and a half day to cure enough I would think. It very well could be the htp wicks too. I remember hating them in the 415 which is why i went to cds. And is why I have them left and no cds lol. I will get my cds monday i believe. I will give it the benefit of the doubt monday if i'm still not happy and test that FO again with CDs. Just so I know in my heart i didn't give up too soon lol

lol yeah, I am trying to talk myself into continuing to test it. That I can not make up my mind already with only half a candle tested that only had a 2 day cure. But remembering how good the 415 was to me, I expect more from 464 already lol. I will be ordering the 415 real soon. I got 6006 coming to test with and 3022. Have you ever used either of them? It was suggested to add 15% 415 with the 6006 to make one awesome candle. Worth a shot I figure. I guess I am just biased knowing how my candles used to throw lol It made me really picky! lol

When it starts getting a slushy appearance. If I remember right it was right around 100-110

When I pour any hotter than 120 I get decent sink holes by the wick and have to use the heat gun. I still get some dips by the wick probably every 3rd candle. I am really not testing for hot throw, just for the wicj but couldn't help noticing the wax smell. Even my husband commented on it. but like I said above I cant really judge it yet cuz it has only been 2 day cure. Right now I am testin with htp 104. Waiting for my cd's to be delivered. that's all I ever used in my 415 but I didn't have any left. I heat to 185, add FO around 175. I know the cinnamon always took a longer cure time even in the 415 but when testing wicks in that in a few days I still had some ht. I am not 100% giving up, I have a LOT of candles still to test. I am going away until late sunday night so I will wait until then to light it back up. Could be NG changed the FO too, might not be as strong as it was a couple years ago. So many factors it could be lol Which is why I am not giving up, but I am just not liking it at the moment lol

I did only let the candle cure for 2 days, testing the wick not the scent throw. but I can barely smell the scent at all more of a warm slightly scented wax lol If I let it cure more and wick up it might be okay but I dont have high hopes. And the 415 for me kicked butt! I hardly ever found a FO that didnt throw in it. CT and HT were amazing with it!

Ugh, I should have just ordered the 415 that I used to use. But thought Hey, I'll try something new! I have poured several candles and some of them have a little dip near the wick and ones that turn out beautifully when I test burn them after they're lit for a small amount of time you can see an air bubble near the wick. Then you have the wet spots lol I guess I was spoiled with the 415 even though I had to wait till slushy stage to pour. I figured 464 would be a lot easier due to be able to pour hotter. Oh and I am test burning cinnamon from NG which was a best seller for me in 415. In the 464 there is barely a scent throw. CT was even less than I remember. But in all fairness I think I need to wick up, looks like the flame is about to drown out. So might just be that. Can not wait for my 6006 and 3022 to get in and I will def be ordering my 415 back. Sorry, just felt like venting. Will be taking a candle with me to test at the hotel tomorrow night lol

Thanks Chuck. Do you add any extra soy to this at all? I ordered a sample, hope to get it soon! Also I will be wicking 8 oz jj and I have cd wicks, where do you suggest starting with wick size? I have never worked with paraffin so am a little more lost than usual, haha

I'm going to order rustic escentuals soon. Their description sounds more sweet than all the others and berts was really sweet all the others have been more tart like more pineapple etc. hard to explain but RE says theirs has bubblegum in it so might make it sweeter. Worth a try anyway, I do not care for ICS and I had NG before and it didn't compare either. KY the description doesn't sound anything like it.

Loving this new house and the full basement! One side is my candle shop, middle is hubby's man cave including the pool table, air hockey, fridge, tv with surround sound and xbox. One side is the home gym room. So excited to get back to work now that I have room!

I did a search on here but because not many ppl use it, it only brought up a few pages of posts. So I wanted to ask those who do use it what you think? How does it compare to 6006? Do you feel the HT is better with 3022 verses 6006 or 415? I figured starting up my business again I would go back to the 415, so far I haven't even ordered that. lol I did order a sample of the 3022 to test but wanted to see what you all thought of it. I have htp 104 and cd wicks to test with, will be pouring in 8 ounce JJ. Now up to 4 waxes to test lol Not sure If I love or hate the researching/testing stage again lol

Thanks I do remember seeing something about heating pads and towels. Whew makes me feel a lot better, especially knowing I don't have to spend a bunch of extra $$ to get the stove hooked up.

I was just curious, we set up my workshop in the basement which does not have a 220 outlet for my stove. So I was wanting to know if you have to do that step for cp or not. Also has anyone used toaster ovens instead? Although not sure I will find a big enough one for some molds.

I always took warmers and did a package deal for the warmer and 3 clamshells or 6 shooters. When I did soaps I had bath poufs. Trying to think of anything else.

oh and what type of wicks do you use with the 464 if you dont mind me asking? I always used CD for the 415 but thought I would try the htp 104 for the first testers. But I hate the wicks I get from this company so I'll have to order more from somewhere else.

Sorry, I will be making mostly 8 oz and 16 oz jelly jars and melts. I have always used the 415 and it worked really well for me. I did buy 464 and made some test candles tonight with it, but I am worried because everything I read says you dont get the ht with 464 like you do the 415. So that made me start thinking about trying 6006 lol. Some say you get a better ht with the 6006 but it likes to get sink holes and you need to repour even though it's a one pour wax. I've never ever worked with paraffin so I'm a little afraid lol I guess now I remember why my hair was turning grey lol

Shar have you tried ICS? I just have that funny feeling I will be dissapointed and will never find one even close to berts

I am debating on whether to start back with the gb 415 or try the 6006 or maybe even blend the two together. I am having a hard time deciding based on the searches i've done on here. So I thought I would ask all of you here that may have switched to 6006 from the 415 or experienced with the 6006 etc. What is your opinion on the two waxes? ct/ht? And in my research i've seen even though 6006 is a one pour wax a lot of people have to do repours do to sink holes. lol now I remember all the sleepless nights up researching before I started making candles years ago.

I am saddened to hear berts has closed. I always got her monkey farts and creme brulee. So now i need to find a different supplier. I have tried a couple other monkey farts in the past and did not like them. Has anyone gotten ICS and has used berts in the past? I have a bottle coming, hoping it's close to berts.
