  1. I know this is not your mix, but 6006 plays very well with 415!! I would bet the 464 will play very nicely as well. The 6006 seems to kill the frost fairy!! I did 50/50 so far, but want to increase the soy even more! I say Go For It!! Good Luck
  2. Welcome!! IMO, Ecosoya CBA makes a beautiful candle, but seems to be the one with the most difficulty in achieving a great hot throw! I started with that wax and ended up switching. Each wax has it's own issues. You will find a lot of info in the sticky threads like Stella said. Also, location plays a part in how a wax will perform. When you search, pay attention to where the person is located. I did an identical test with the exact same wax, literally same batch, with someone a little farther north than I. She made a great candle, I got a frosty mess!! Good Luck with the wax hunt!!
  3. Congrats!!!! Are you going to post a pic in the gallery? I'd love to see it!!
  4. The only thing I have to offer is.... pay attention to how much wax the dye will color. Some will color 125lbs to a medium color, others way less. I have used dyes from Peak, NG, JBN and Candle Science. Candle Science's dyes only 40lbs to a medium shade. I didn't notice that when I ordered. Though I do like the dye. HTH
  5. I just got back from Home Depot, got all the parts for my DH to put the spigot on mine. Can't wait to try it out. My parts were just under $10.
  6. I cheated a little and started with a parasoy and added more soy. I wanted it more soy heavy but wanted the paraffin to hopefully keep the soy beautiful. It worked... I mix 6006 and 415. 50/50 works great, but I am heading down to try a few different ones a little more soy heavy. HTH Danielle OH... I did find with a totally different mix that ecosoya pure doesn't play as nice as 415. HTH
  7. I bought mine from Walmart, thought about putting a spigot in but tried first without. I think I am going to have my DH put a spigot in one of mine to try it. I think for me it will work out better. I wouldn't buy one predone as I have a very capable DH and would trust his installation quicker than a strangers. I couldn't justify the added expense when I really don't need it. If you don't have anyone to do it for you there is a place on E-bay that guarantees it won't leak. Either way you decide.... you will love the ease of the presto. Have a great day Danielle
  8. Dee you need to get OFF the pewter. Back away from the keyboard!! LOL You are gonna have a wish list that contains every item they make!! Kentucky Candle looks like a great place to start for us. Shipping shouldn't be too bad since it is in our zone! Are you going to the Soaper event in Strongsville??
  9. OK I did the math.... at the soap guy you can get the cocoa butter soap for $3.15 pp. At SFIC it is $2 pp. I think a Co-op is NEEDED! LOL If no one will do a co-op we will wait till june. I also joined in Dec.
  10. Dee, I would be game for that. I have not been on the board 6 months yet to host myself. I did a google search and gouldn't find the manufacturer, only other places that carry it. Does anyone have a link ot them??
  11. another question... is SFIC a brand or a type? I am guessing a brand if I can find it at other places. TIA ETA: I found it!!
  12. question...... is the SFIC also melt & pour?? The ingredients looks so much more natural and fun compared to reg M&P. TIA
  13. Thank you, I did get a hold of Kim, I am registered and ready to go!! Danielle
  14. Dee, I use the Ecosoya PB for my tarts and it is wonderful! They pop right out of the clamshells and molds when needed. They also smell wonderful!! It is so easy I don't think I will ever use a container blend for tarts. HTH Danielle
  15. Thank you all!! I am so excited!! I just registered for the Ohio Soapers event in Strongsville. I hope to learn a lot and be able to venture into other soaping methods. YIPPY
  16. Ok, I have been to the site but can not find any info on registering. I did send an e-mail to Kim a few minutes ago. Hopefully I will hear from her quickly. I would think you would have to give them specific info for the registration and not just mail a check. If anyone has more specific info to share that would be great! Thanks Danielle
  17. remarkable! I am still in awwwwwww at the beauty of that soap!!
  18. Dee OK, last night I couldn't wait any longer to try it so I washed my hands. It was very nice, left my hands feeling soft and silky. It did lather quite well. I used it in the shower today and I feel GREAT. It lathered well, even better with a bath puff. I feel like I put lotion all over my body. For me this will be a keeper. I wonder if it might be your water or FO. I know you said your tester has the same water, but might they have a softener or filter? Also the pipes it goes through can affect water. Our water is not super soft, but it is not hard either. I used NG's vanilla lavender downy type. I LOVE it!! Hopefully you get it to work for you because it is WONDERFUL!! Have a great one Danielle
  19. My daughter already used her strawberry GM and loved it. She got out of the shower and insisted I feel her leg. "It is so soft mom, feel it! It smells so good, everything smells like strawberry now!" I am thinking the GM base is the one to go with. I might try NG's Cocoa Butter or Shea butter MP. They both sound good. I will give you an update tomorrow about the WSP silk & shea.
  20. That Green Irish Tweed is beyond perfect!! That is the most beautiful swirl soap I have ever seen!! I am in awwwwww
  21. Not so much "dry" feeling but more like squeeky clean feeling but not in a good way. I also cleaned up the goats milk pretty soon after. I will use the silk & shea in the morning and let you know. If it is drying to me at all I will itch really bad and probably end up in the shower again!! LOL
  22. I got it from WSP, it is their "Old Fashion Soap" mold http://www.wholesalesuppliesplus.com/ProductDetail.aspx?CatalogID=1&GroupID=261&CategoryID=492&ProductID=5842&ProductName=Old+Fashion+Soap+Mold+(PC+27) Thanks for the compliments! I can see getting addicted to soaping very very quickly. I so want to try other methods. I am going to sign up for the Ohio soapers event in strongsville. Get some info, tips, techniques and go from there!! YIPPY Mystical angel they are M&P
  23. Here are pics of my first ever soap. It is M&P the first is vanilla lavender, faintly purple and natural swirl. The "shadows" in the pic are the purple. The second is strawberry. The color is actually a very pretty pink and white stripe.
  24. OK I made the vanilla lavender for me, and strawberry for my daughter. The strawberry I made with WSP's goats milk base. Even as I was cleaning up I got more lather from the GM. I am posting pics in the gallery.
  25. This is my first soap ever. I gather I can use it as soon as I unmold it correct? If that is the case I will use it in the morning. I made vanilla lavender, colored 1/2 of it with a few drops of purple and then kinda marble/swirled it. I will let you know what I think.
