  1. It smells so much like fruit loops it isn't funny. It is VERY strong.... I might even cut down to less that an oz. pp. As I type this I have a tester on the wall behind me.... the CT is also strong. IT smells like there is a bowl of cereal by me. HTH
  2. If you decide to get rid of it, instead of messing with it. I read some place about selling it on E-bay for others to use for fire starters. Or maybe post it on Craigs list. When I am done with a tester, I cut the wax out and throw it in a big bad. Some smells I keep together some I just toss in. Good Luck
  3. Dirtybird... I do agree with you. When I wrote that, I was comparing OOB on all products.... yesterday I was doing laundry and the OOD (out of dryer LOL) smells just like the NG. I do love it!! That is my favorite smell....
  4. Hey Dee..... I just picked up the Hawaiian Suntan yesterday.... it smells exactly like hawaiian tropics thick suntan oil. Not in wax yet. I also have their Downy Vanilla Lavender.... it smells wonderful but not exactly like the laundry soap or fabric softener. Smells wonderful in M&P soap. HTH
  5. You can also set the jar on a candle warmer. It melts all the wax and while it is melting you can wick another jar. When it is ready.... pour from one jar to another. I do this when I only have one or two to do. If I have more I do the oven method. You can get candle warmers for $5 at Walmart. HTH
  6. Nanny, Your post makes it sound like you are testing the USA. If this is the case you might want to add it to the wax as you use it till you decide if you are going to continue. If you add it to the batch and then don't like it.... you have a bunch of "junk" wax to deal with. If you have your formula all settled, I'm with Stella.... dump it in, one less thing to mess with later!! Have fun with that turkey fryer!!
  7. So far 24 -48 max.... if I make some tonight....I will fire them up saturday when I get up. The mix really does cure fast. Now it does get even stronger... but after the short cure it is great!! HTH I am also going to try some J223 with 415 to see if I can get rid of this vaseline residue. I am going to WSP tomorrow so I can play over the weekend!!
  8. I posted this in the fragrance section... but I used 1oz pp of Fruity Loops from NG in this mix.... it is so strong! I am using a CDN20 in my 3.5 inch diameter apothecary. Except for the shrooms, which seem to get less as it burns down in the jar, and the vaseline.... it is great!! I am getting wonderful results with it. I also made Strawberry Margarita from Backwoods.... also great!! I did double wick with CD 6's and that worked well also.... I need to make a template for that though as i suck at getting them centered!! I think I like the 2 wick results better at this point. I wonder if I mix with a paraffin CB if it would be different. I am really not liking the vaseline look. Maybe some J223, or maybe try a little USA to firm things up a bit. I will try a bit to tweak this formula. Happy Testing Danielle
  9. Michelle, I get pure soy from NG, the box says "Plain 415" on it. Actually is doesn't have much more than that on it!! I hope that helps. 415 can be purchased from many different places.
  10. Judi.... have you found this blend to leave a kinda greasy looking residue on the sides of the jars? It is very thin, but noticable. It doesn't feel greasy but looks like it. Kinda like vasaline is on everything. I would love for the glass to be cleaner looking. TIA Danielle
  11. Where do you get Performas?? I don't think I have seen them in my travels around the different sites I frequent. Thank You for the replies!
  12. I put this in my soy/paraffin blend, 1ozpp, and it throws like crazy!! The blend is almost 80% 415!! I recommend this scent for use in soy!! Just wanted to share Have a great one Danielle
  13. I have been testing a 415/6006 blend. It ends up being close to a 80 soy/20 paraffin blend. I have been testing the CD/CDN wicks with more shrooms than I like. I read over the soy recommendations sticky and found a majority of people use HTP in pure soy with CD/CDN next in line. My question for the HTP and CD/CDN users is.... do you have a shroom problem. I love the CT/HT with this blend. It is wonderful!! I love everything except the shrooms. Any and all help would be greatly appreciated!! TIA Danielle
  14. Those are perfect.... your colors really fit that FO.
  15. It is done all the time! I blend 415 with 6006! Works great to kill the frost fairy!! I think it would be hard to search for on this site without knowing what people mix... but it does happen. Here are a few threads about it.... http://www.craftserver.com/forums/showthread.php?t=70141 http://www.craftserver.com/forums/showthread.php?t=70614 http://www.craftserver.com/forums/showthread.php?t=70381 http://www.craftserver.com/forums/showthread.php?t=68683 HTH Danielle
  16. Sad thing is.... you will LOVE the end result and not be able to duplicate it!! LMAO That would be my luck. I got my order today and just sniffed all 19 samples and like them all... some more than others. Tomorrow they will start hittin' the wax!
  17. Wonderful.... I will have to figure out what else I need from them now. Thank You Danielle
  18. I was outside today and for some reason our apple tree smells exceptionally good this year. I did a search but didn't find any recommendations. Does anyone know of a true apple blossom FO??? I am not the floral person, but man that tree smells really good. Between that and my lilac bush, my yard smells wonderful!! I love spring! TIA Danielle
  19. That is a great idea! If it turns out I don't like one or both, a blend is a great option!! Maybe even throw a little coconut in the mix! Oh my mind is running away with ideas now.....
  20. When in doubt.... buy them all!! LOL Testing both is better anyway.... one may throw better than the other. Off to place my order!!
  21. Darbla, How did you like it OOB?? I am still holding on to my CS order trying to decide between the 2 ocean scents. I guess I will just get both. Better safe than sorry. Danielle
  22. Has anyone tried this yet? Any opinions? I don't have an ocean type scent and thought I might give this one a try. I didn't find anything when doing a search!! TIA Danielle
  23. The only time I used a premier it was a 785 in a 3.5 inch apothecary jar. It burned OK. I probibly could have wicked down a bit. I was comparing a bunch of wicks side by side. I never retested smaller. This test was done with CBA. I think I'd try smaller than a 770 since you have paraffin in the mix. HTH Danielle
  24. Can someone post a pic of this jar. I am having a hard time picturing it. I bought some wide mouth 16oz and some of the newer "Elite Collection" 16oz jars. Reg 16oz WM were 8.58/12 and the Elite were 4.67/4. The elite remind me of an over sized 8oz sq mason but with writing on only 1 side. Makes it nice to label!! I picked them up at Wallyworld last night. I was doing the Happy Dance in the isle when I saw they finally had their canning stuff for the season.
  25. Thanks Vio... that worked. Now I have another question... why does it put 38 in the "water as % of oils" area? I played with some numbers and to get what I think her recipe was.... it came out to 31% = water as % of oils 15% superfat now I have no idea what any of it means..... I was just messing around.
