  1. It really isn't a problem. I can put a few in an envelope and send them on their merry way!! I have gotten so much from this board, I would love to give back a bit! ETA: I tried the premier and superior, didn't care for them. I didn't give them much of a chance, but what I did test....I put them in the bottom drawer. LOL
  2. The first wick I tried was a C80 from Peaks. It did not perform well at all. Mine did the same thing. They drowned themselves out. I used straight CBA at the time in a 3.5in diameter apothecary jar. I did get the candle wicked with CD's. Most Fo's so far take a CD18 or 20. Now I am using a 50/50 mix of CBA and 415. I am till using the same wicks with good results. Do you have any other wicks to try?? If not I can drop a few in the mail for you. Let me know if you need any. HTH Danielle
  3. Any more progress on this Judi?? I was also thinking of mixing 6006 with another soy. I pm'd ya.
  4. I did send an e-mail. Here is the reply.... ****Hi there; I am currently out because they have having raw ingredient issues. I have a few like this. I do have a little if you need it. Sales @ Indiana Candle Supplies Osceola IN 46561 http://candlesupplys.us/ ****** HTH Danielle I just found a straight boysenberry at The Candlemakers Store.
  5. Thanks Sharon.... I guess the FOF is a bit slow if they are just adding it and it is already discontinued! LOL I will e-mail them now. Danielle
  6. HELP..... I was on the fragrance oil finder under the "new" section and there are a bunch from ICS. I absolutely love boysenberry, they have a vanilla bean & boysenberry listed. I went to the site and can NOT find it. I can't find a "new" section either. Am I missing something totally obvious or do they take a while to get it on there site?? I have never ordered from them before so I am not familiar with their procedures. Thank you Danielle
  7. It might help if you state what type of wax you'd like to try. Paraffin, soy or a blend. Your question is a bit too open. What do the suppliers that are near you carry?? Maybe you can get feedback on what is readily available to you. I personally haven't made pillars or votives, but love Ecosoya PB for my tarts. HTH
  8. Soy can have paraffin mixed with it, yours does not. Stella was saying soy WAX does not occcur naturally. It, if I am not mistaken, is chemically extruded. I mix CBA with 415. I tried it with the Ecosoya Pure, but the 415 plays better with the CBA. You keep the beauty of the CBA and get the throw of the 415. HTH
  9. YA.... what Susan said. It was such a small amount I just added it!! I don't recall seeing anything in the other CO thread about how to calculate the addition of CO. Just how much people were adding and if they noticed any good/bad results!! ETA: I used 1/2 TB PP, but then I got some USA and stayed with that instead!!
  10. I just added it when I was testing.... HTH Danielle
  11. Donna, I am actually glad they are not here yet... I have no self control when it comes to new things... I would have never been able to test them for a few days, one at a time. I am sure they will be here very soon.... I sent something to Michigan and it took 9 or 10 days..... the return shipment took I think 2!! The mail is all messed up. I will let you know when I get them. Hey do you make lavender or lavender/vanilla soap?? That is the scent I have in my bathroom. I love it. Have a great night Danielle
  12. Ok, update.... I got a bar of maple syrup soap. It has coconut oil in it.... I have used it for 3 days now and NO welts. I did have a little itching... but then I realized my humidifier had stopped working! Which also explained the headaches and sore nose. LOL So I have had absolutely no reaction to the soap. :highfive: Here is a funny for you... I was so out of the practice of using bar soap I had a hard time holding on to that slippery little sucker. So it now looks a bit beat up from plopping to the floor a few times!! I am bar soap challenged! LOL So I am VERY happy! The world of bar soap has been opened up to me again!! I have a few more bars on the way... I can't wait to try them!!! Thank You all VERY much for all your help and support!! I really appreciate it. Danielle
  13. SouthernSoyGirl..... I finally got a Presto Pot after some gentle nudging by a friend. I am so glad I did. When I used double boiler method, it did take a while and you had to watch it like a hawk. With the Presto... I turn it on and I can go about other business in my kitchen while it is heating up. If you get one, you really will love it. Nudge Nudge LOL Welcome!! Danielle
  14. Thanks Sharon.... I had never been to their site... there are a few I want now. I will be placing an order. The Fruit Loops they have on special..... I smelled it an NG... smells just like a bowl of the cereal!! Have a great day!! Danielle
  15. I have found with CBA... the longer the cure the better. I have some I made in December and they rock. Now I know you don't want to have to wait forever for a great HT, but it does seem to be a wax that does "best" with a longer cure time. Next time you make a tester, make an extra to set aside. Give it a week then pull it out and fire that baby up! I bet you will smell a noticable difference. I agree with Stella... if you need over an ounce pp... it really isn't worth it. What wicks are you using with the CBA?
  16. I think this board needs a section titled.... "dumb things people do with products" I am always game for a good daily laugh. We all have stories to share!!
  17. Sadly to say I am not kidding. I guess they figured it was a good heat source. Just proves no matter how safe you make your product..... someone can still do something stupid with it!!
  18. Crafty1 AJ I totally agree with that... I had a person set one on top of their woodburner.... the smell was gone in no time. Cooked the smell right out of it! LOL
  19. Thanks everyone... mine seem to be following the norm then. I really like when people are so happy because something lasts longer then they expected. I have some great and supportive testers.
  20. I get used to the scent in a few hours..... I would have to keep going in and out of my house to get a true time. I have had testers say anywhere from 20hours to a 60+. One person left for the weekend and forgot to turn her wamer off. She could still smell it when they got home days later. ETA: I like how when I search I can't find what I want. But that "similar threads" thing at the bottom is always got what I want!!
  21. I did a search but couldn't find what I was looking for. Can anyone tell me the expected life of a tart (1.25oz) in use. I have tested them, but after a while I can't smell them so I have no clue how long they really last. (I seem to get used to a smell very quickly) TIA
  22. WSP has one I think I might pick up monday. I am running through the site making my list. I am trying to get non fruity/bakery smells. Even though it has lemon in it, with the lavender I think it would still be different. If I get it, I'll let you know how it smells.
  23. http://www.fragranceoilfinder.com/catalog/advanced_search_result.php?keywords=sherbet&osCsid=b598abbdb3df2054f1e2421899523659&x=5&y=6 HTH
  24. I got a sample of this and really liked it. I'd rather not order from TX due to shipping time and costs. Can anyone recommend a honeydew that smells similar?? If not similar, very good. When I searched CS came up a lot, are there any others? NG's isn't as strong as JBN's and I haven't smelled WSP's yet. Maybe monday. TIA
