  1. Hi WnW, This is a complete pillar with a hole in the top for a glass tea light holder instead of a wick. HTH. Mozzie
  2. Your orb is just beautiful, thanks for showing the between step too. Also lots of thanks to Donita for her generosity with her time and sharing of information.
  3. It certainly is, Juggy. LOL. But so rewarding when it turns out right. Thanks for the positive feedback everyone.
  4. I just had to post this pic because I'm so pleased with how this candle turned out after spending ages selecting a font, colour, image etc. I hope that Fiona likes it too. LOL.
  5. Sabrina, they all look wonderful. You truly are a whizz kid when it comes to palm wax. Your neighbour is sure to love her candles. Mozzie
  6. Sabrina, That looks gorgeous, so fresh and elegant. I love the roses around the base, they really set the whole piece off. Mozzie
  7. WOW!!! Super impressive, I like your style.
  8. Hi Sabrina, They look sensational - what a super star you are. BTW, "stuffed" means "filled with". Love, Mozzie
  9. Hi Kris, That looks really interesting, I bet your Mum will love it. Just wondering what kind of surface finish and colour it has - it doesn't look like the usual white shiny 'canes? I also like the rough top.
  10. Jo, I love them all - I love all your stuff - but the waves are super fantastic. Great stuff!
  11. Welcome Jen to a great new addiction and a wealth of information and helpful advice. I agree that a starter kit may be a good investment so that you have everything you need to get going. The hardest thing, I've found, is to stay focused on mastering one skill at a time. I tend to try something and then see something else and want to try that out too. If you're able, decide on whether you want to do pillars or containers then what type of wax to work with: paraffin, soy, palm, etc and limit your fo collection (talk about the pot calling the kettle black) to a few to start with and then just let loose and have fun. Remember to test and document everything so that you can duplicate your successes. Enjoy. Mozz
  12. They look fabulous, really fresh and eye catching. Sure to be big winners. Love how you've arranged your chunks and swirls. What did you do (if it's not a trade secret) to get the finish so shiny - heat gun?
  13. Not sure about Crayola in particular but I'm sure that I've read somewhere not to use wax crayons as they clog up the wick. I know that this doesn't help answer your original question but thought I'd better put in my two bob's worth.
  14. Your bf did a great job - hope he's inspired to do more. Love your purple - very groovy - time to lay back in the beanbag and put some old 60's records on the player. LOL.
  15. Love those colours. Who needs black anyway? LOL. Great looking pillar.
  16. Your set up looks really appealing and very professional. Well done!
  17. They all look good but my fave is the Buffalo Sabre - very striking.
  18. Hard, no. Messy, yes. I followed the instructions under Techniques and Ideas but as I don't have liquid dye simply melted some dye chips in a small pot. My challenge is to spoon the "mashed potato" mixture into the mould without dribbling it all down the side, all over the table, etc, etc. And yes, Donita, I did give the moulds a good bang - very therapeutic. LOL. Thanks for your kind words everyone.
  19. I finally got brave enough to make marbled pillars. Talk about a lot of fun. Making this pair was a real hoot and I'm looking forward to making more. Scented coconut lime with lime dye for the colouring.
  20. Sabrina, that is a really cute pillar. Your bride will love it.
  21. Isn't there always testing - laughter and groaning!!! I look forward to seeing your final creations.
  22. Your pillar is a real work of art so scent is superfluous. Amazing result - very impressive.
