Ok , Im sure none of you really care, lol. but as many of you know ive posted about not finding lard so I decided to not be a guy and I would try asking in the grocery store if they could get it.. (I was in the meat department) I said "do you carry lard? She said its right there. I looked andthere it was above the meat!!!?? Ive been looking in the oil isle. So those who cant find it .. try the meat department.WHOOHOOOO:yay: Oh evidently its NOT illegal to sell.lol (per my post on my prior experiece) Now off to find a good recipe with lard!

Thanks I couldnt believe I finally got a good blue..I think the thing is not to let it gell (at least this is how I fianlly got my blue to stay). On the Lard there is a small grocer who is locating me some soon. Supposed to call me if the can get it early next week.. crossing fingers

i have tried a varity of wicks and mostley use cd 12-16's on my soy jars depending on how strong of a Fragrance. With those jars it looks as the opening is a bit smaller than the middle , thus it will create more heat in the jar so you may be able to go with w smaller wick like a cd-10-12 if its the diamater im thinking of from the pics or even. 51c ) are good start with the lower wick and wick up as you need.You may want to get a sample pack or I could send you a few to test. pm me with your addy if you want to try a few. But again when you try a fragrance and awx. Write down , how much wax, fragrance and color you used and what size wick and track resultsm, that way you know if it burnt to hot , just right or needs a bigger wick, also put where you got fo.Those are erally cute and your top of the waxlooks creamy for soy, so you did a great job for starting out:) try this it has info on the cottens.. http://www.kycandlewaxsupply.com/wick.htm

Thanks, I was thinking about beeswax and would love to know the ppo. Its funny actually from the blue bacth thicken on me some of the bars have Polka dots..lol I mean round polka dots couldnt do it again if I tried!!LOL

Last night I decided to try some of the olive/castor only recipes.. I did very small 1lb bacthes with a water discount, but the blue one still was very slippary /soft ..anyway here they are Blue/white swirl sweetcakes..vera wang (I must say I wear the real pefrume and this is dead on, soaped beautiful the wahite thickened up but on me making the outcome a little bumpy but that was my fault) Super strong!! Jamica me crazy swirled.Light green, yellow and lavneder (even tho it dosent show in the pics).. I really hope the scent comes back when I put it to bed it was nice and strong, then its morphed and smells like herb soap, nothing like it did oob????!! Black Canyon.(my first time to do this and in soap I like it better than oob.. I swirled this Black, grey and brown , wish you could see this in real life, it looks dark green in the pics put it really blakc born and there are grey and black lines going thru. another batch of Rootbeer Float The last is a champagne color scented Strawberries & Champagne.. I added kokum butter to the recipe on this and got soap on a stick so my would be pink and gold soap is infact now a light ivory champagne color!Oh well LOL these are just test batches , and are not cleaned and shaved up yet, but it was an eventful night.HA

Usually if a scent dosent work, I up it to 1.4oz pp and that will do it, as soy sometimes needs a stronger mount. Also make sure you take notes and especially on the wicks its important to know what kind it is so you can recreate the same effect again and not have to retest (keep a journal on everything, youll thank your self in the long run) It may be the wick I have some fo's that even tho the melt pool is complete the wick is wrong and I get it to throw super buy changing the wick type.hth

Hey Cp makers, Ive made many,many batches but usually bigger ones. I recently got some samples of peaks (particurally Jamaica Me Crazy) 1oz I Know its only an ounce but I have seen pics and heard it does very well in Cp. Any idea what size batch I can make with this FO and still have a strong smell? (i like a really fragrant bar).I would even welcome your recipes.. thanks guys I have been wanting to soap this.. WEll off to cut some soap..:smiley2: Marisa

Hey Steph, That is awesome!! Congrats to you hey by the way,heads up, makesure you make bigger batches (when you know it will work) that way you want have to make it all the time,thus saving family time cause your gonna get business from that soap!

Robin, thanks for the mexican store idea.. actually we are surrounded by a ton (i mean a ton) od ethinc grocer's Im talking Indian,ASian, Arabic, lebanese, chinese, We have mexican town.. So aill go check tham im sure Ill come up with something and some nice peep offered to send me some. Anyway, I thought I had missesd something but if walmart sells lard, than maybe THEY are missing something . (like a grasp on the law..lol) Thanks guys marisa
