  1. I contacted BCN Tech support and was told that adding fo would not change its meeting FDA regulations unless it was used in food prep. So if you are selling to some type of food establishment, then you would need to sell it unscented. But for home use like most of us sell it for, you would be ok. HTH
  2. That's what I thought too. But I am new to lip balms and was not sure if that would be a factor. Thank you!!
  3. Hello All, I am going to try to sweeten some lip balms and wanted some opinions. I have had several people tell me that Stevia will work, however, I cannot find any locally in a liquid form. I found a liquid sweetener made by Royal Cup Inc called 'Sweet-n-Ez' that is a sweetener used for brewed iced tea according to the bottle. It is made from "High Fructose Corn Sweetener, Purified Filtered Water and Sucralose." Does this sound like something you could use without any problems. It comes out to less than .10 cents an oz so if it would work, that would be great. Any help/suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!!
  4. Oh Leisa, I love that mold!! I just sent him an e-mail and hopefully will here back. Makes me want to pour some just thinking of the ease!! Thanks for the information. I will let you know if I have any problems.
  5. I use the GB 415. I wash all jars in warm soaping water and the only frosting I get is on the top. Someone told me that I could add paraffin, but I don't have any. I do have some of the Luan CO and never considered trying that. Maybe I will have to give it a try and see how it works. Question though.......does it change the burning qualities so that I would have to re-test wicks?? Thanks for the help!
  6. I will be watching this thread with interest. I am still in the contemplation stage with these but it will be fun to see how they turn out!!
  7. I concure. This is a wonderfully, strong scent in soy. Also, BCN has a good cinnamon stick as well. I think it depends on if you want a straight cinnamon, candy type or bakery type. HTH
  8. Ok, I officially dis-like anyone that posts new ideas now!! I have so many addictions now that I can't keep up. I have tried the BCN base and wanted so bad to get a recipe so I could play and now that I have the recipe, I cannot wait to get my supplies from the co-op so I can play!! Thanks for sharing this recipe. Don't have beeswax so I might try it with soy to see what happens. I LOVE ADDICTIONS!!!
  9. Hi, I stumbled over this web-site some time ago about making deodorant. It has several different recipes that you could tinker with. I have not tried any of these, but kept the link just in case. Make sure you read the links inside this thread as it has some interesting information as well. http://www.thegreenestdollar.com/2009/04/how-to-make-your-own-deodorant/ Another is: http://1greengeneration.elementsintime.com/?p=596 This next link is one that I have made for my husband. He is sensitive and allergic to about everything and it works really well for him. The tea tree oil works great for him. http://www.recipezaar.com/stick-deodorant-aluminum-free-361814 Also, if you homemade deodorant, you will get a ton of links. I think I spent about 4 hours one day reading and looking at stuff from ingredients to all sorts of comments. I am determined to try some of the others this winter now that kids are all back to school so if I get them tested, I will let you know how they turn out. Hope this helps!!
  10. I was told that bakery scents and heavier scents will clog the reeds. Has anyone experienced this? Thanks!
  11. I thought that cyclo dissipated so there was no oily residue? I have also thought about doing these but just didn't know so never tried. I would think that the FO's would have to be skin safe though since they can come in contact with your skin.
  12. You can also go into your e-mail settings in the meanwhile and put them on your block/junk list. That should help to ensure that they go straight to your junk mail box. But keep an eye on the e-mail they are coming from. I noticed that they will change the e-mail with one letter or number so you keep getting them. I just keep adding them to my block and delete them with the rest of my junk.
  13. Hi All, I have been reading a ton about b&b products, lip balms and the like. There has been a lot of reference to soft butters and hard butters. How do I know which is which? Can someone help me please!!!! Also, what is considered a light oil vs a heavy oil?? Thanks for any help that is given.
  14. What is the difference between the 444 and the 415?
  15. I know this thread is older, but do you have any problem with tubes twisting while in pockets or purses? Thanks
  16. Are you willing to share your formula?
  17. That is one of the reasons I do not purchase from suppliers with pay-pal. I use a debit credit card, so basically I use cash. I have read and heard so many horror stories about people filing disputes and then the one they are filing against closes up shop and no more money. I do not put anything on a regular CC but at least with a CC you can file a dispute. I would not shut off the option of pay-pal for your customers. Buyers protection should mean that the buyer is completely protected regardless of what the seller does. Sadly it does not happen that way. As for the company that screwed you, I guess you could always look at filing against her in small claims court. In my state, I can sue anyone in the US as long as I did the business in my state. You might want to check into that. At least that way you might be able to get a judgement against her for what she owes plus interest and court fees. Michelle
  18. I would think that you might be able to get them from a supplier, but not sure who. I get mine from Freecycle. I also let people in my church know that I use them. You would not believe how quick word spreads and then you have a ton lying around. I have never had to buy any even when I have orders for 100+. I always decorate the tops with fabric and batting. Kinda the quilt looking top. The fabric just depends on what the occassion is. HTH Michelle
  19. Do you make these and sell them individually? If so, I would sell them at like a "pack" price. So if you sell them for $0.75 a piece then sell the pack for $4.00. Hope that makes sense. They are great though. Absolutely love them!! I especially like the little shapes on the top. What kind of wax are you using for them? also, are they regular muffin size or mini muffin size? And where in the world did you get the pans?
  20. Thanks Karen. I am going to order some in the next week or so and I will have to give it a try. Just another thing I need (want).
