  1. Do you have a web address for cajun?
  2. Are the beads a good quality there Grama? I have heard that some places sell bad ones.
  3. Hi All, I have been using the Aroma Beads from BCN and was wondering if anyone else could suggest another supplier. I like their beads but the price is a little high after shipping. I was wanting to buy them in bigger bulk and was hoping that someone might know of a supplier or a manufacturer of these where I could get them at a lower price. Thanks, Michelle
  4. I would test both. You will have a different range of scent throw with each of the sizes and while you may be happy with the scent throw of the 2 oz you may find the 8 oz does not give you what you desire....or visa versa. JMO Michelle
  5. Ok, just thought of another question. I have read where people are using preservatives in some B&B items to avoid the ickies. Where do you get this and when should it be used? Thanks Again for all you help!! Michelle
  6. Hello, This questions seems like it should be so easy, but I am so clueless and was hoping that some of you more seasoned B&B people could help answer them. I have been looking at the various butters....shea, mango, cocoa, etc.... and noticed there are several different types. What are the differences in naturals, refined, deodorized. Thanks in advance for the help!! Michelle PS: I also read that you can purchase citric acid in the stores, but I have looked at about a dozen and no one has it. Does it go by a different name?? Thanks!
  7. Hi, I was looking at expanding my tarts a little more and trying butters. I figure my daughter can help me do the measuring and I can whip one handed. They are located about an hour from me, but I figure the gas up and back would still be cheaper than the shipping from elsewhere. I also found a supplier about an hour in the opposite direction that I may try as well. But their prices are a little higher so I still need to do some calculations to see if paying the shipping might still be cheaper. ALSO, if anyone has any ideas of what I can do with mainly one hand and some basic help from a teen-ager (measuring, lifting, etc) I would appreciate them. The doctor says 4-6 months before I can start to use my arm, but they think the anchors they used to attach the muscles might have come out on the one side so it may be longer. I am going nuts not doing anything and I have got to start something to alleviate the insanity. I was also thinking of trying the bath melt recipe of Bunnies too. Thanks again and any other ideas would be so much greatly appreciated. Michelle
  8. Thanks for the replies guys. I am in Utah so they would be an easy supplier for me since I can skip the shipping and pick up from them. I had just never heard of them before.
  9. How do you use this? Sounds like something my stinky sink could use!!
  10. Hi, For those of you that use KY wax for melts and votives, how do you price them? That wax is high in price so I was curious how you price them to make a profit. I am going to be starting votives and with such rave reviews of that wax, I would like to try it, but it just seems a little steep. I currently use 415 so maybe I could add something to that for the votives instead. Any suggestions? Thanks!!
  11. Hello, I am by no means an expert....still haven't "perfected" my label yet, however, I definately like the second label much better. I thought the first one was very plain and looked like something you had to put on because you had nothing better. As for the jar, I think that to each his own. If you are going for a more primitive looking style, then add the items needed like the raffia or a more rustic looking lid to help achieve it. Now with all that said and out of the way, your final decision maker should be your customer base. If your customers start making comments like "WHAT did you do?" or "What happened?" then I would re-think things. But if your customers are happy with the look and more importantly the quality, then do what makes them happy. HTH Michelle
  12. Hello All, I have been pouring (no pun intended) over threads on here about bath and body products. Specifically ones that can be easily accomplished with one arm since my shoulder surgery. I have run across the name of a company called MMS aka Majestic Mountain Sage and was wondering if anyone who has used them could tell me a little about them. Some of the things I was hoping you could help with it their quality, customer service, pricing....you know the usual stuff. I am going absolutley not being able to make candles and I cannot do nothing for the next six months so I was hoping to try some other areas that might be easier with one arm and the help of my teen-age daughter. Any and all help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in Advance. Michelle
  13. Hi All, I was doing some searching and came across a recipe from Bunny for bath melts. They look so easy to try and so I figured why not. Question is where do you get cocoa butter, both the regular and deoderized? I am on the west coast so any suggestions for a supplier with great prices would be appreciated. Thanks, Michelle
  14. The wax is GB 415. The FO varies. I have 20-30 scents that will be going into these jars. I just need a starting point and then I will wick up on scents that I have needed to wick up on in the past. I have a customer that is wanting to carry the candles, but this is the jar she wants. I usually use the Emma Jars. So this jar is a new one for me. Thanks in advance for the help!! Michelle
  15. Hi, The diameter is 2 5/8 side to side and 3" from corner to corner. I have tried HTP 104 and 105 and there is hardly any scent throw and took forever 4+ hours for a melt pool. I have also tried a CD 14 with the same results. Not sure if going higher would help. Seems like anything higher would be too hot, but not sure. Thanks, Michelle
  16. Hi All, I am trying to wick a 12 oz Hex (Classic) Jar and was looking for a starting point on wicks. I have CD and HTP wicks only. Also I use Soy wax with 1 oz/lb fo and no color. Thanks in advance for your help. Michelle
  17. Someone had told me once that after a while, the wax gets old and will not perform as well. They said that deterioration starts after about a year maybe a year and a half. I had some wax going on three years and got to my last case. This case did go bad on me. Not like what you would think though. The cold throw was still awesome and so was the hot. The frosting was no more than usual, but it would not burn after the first burn. I would light the candle and get a great melt pool and the burning was fantastic. But after that, the wicks would never stay lit again and it was basically a useless candle. I ordered new wax and have not had that problem since. But I did not throw my old wax away. Since everything worked great with it but the burn, I now use them for melts. HTH Michelle
  18. The jar is 3 5/8" side to side and 4.5" corner to corner. The CD 14's and 16's are not working. Any other suggestions? Michelle
  19. Hi, I am trying to wick Vanilla Bliss by Snowtop. I use a 20 oz Emma jar with a ratio of 1 oz fo/lb. I currently use 2 CD 12 for most of my fragrances but have tried CD14 and CD16 with no luck. Can anyone give me another CD suggestion or suggest a HTP wick that I might be able to use. Thanks in advance for your help. Michelle
  20. Hi, I add my UV Stabilizer in my presto pot when I measure my wax. Dump it in and melt all at once. Eliminates the possibility of me forgetting later. I have not used the USA so I can't help with that. I was told that I really didn't need to use it so I have not bothered. Am I missing something? Hope this helps. Michelle
  21. Thanks Scents, I am actually on the West coast, but there are not too many suppliers over here. I will check out the links you posted and see what I can find out. Thanks for your help. Michelle
  22. Hey Sharon, Thank you so much. I was wondering if it was the same, but was not sure. I am glad it is. Now I will just find that wax, like you said, closer for the cheaper shipping. Thanks again for responding. Michelle
  23. Thanks so much Chip. I sent them an e-mail and hopefully they will respond back. I appreciate your help. I also like the Bluegrass and really hate to have to re-test if I can still get it. Have you purchased any of the wax from this new company? Kinda curious as to whether or not they have altered it any. Thanks again. Michelle:yay:
  24. Hey Awick... what is the company selling their wax? I have tried to contact Bluegrass but have not had any luck getting them to respond. Michelle
  25. Ok. Just found my old notes and the wax box had Plain 415 on it. Maybe this will help with the suggestions. Thanks!! Michelle
