  1. I don't know if I am putting this in the right section. I want to buy a bottle of lotion or body butter for a gift. I have to bring a gift to my December bunco party. There will be a group of twelve women with a very good sense of humor (especially adult humor). I am looking to purchase a bottle with a funny name on it and funny directions. Does anybody sell anything like that or know where I can purchase it? If I posted this in the wrong spot please let me know. Thanks
  2. Hi everybody, I am looking for some really good oils. All the oils have to smell great right out of the bottle because I make reed diffusers so the bottle smell is what I get. I am looking for the following. Mulled Cider - I would like one that is exactly like Gold Canyon's. I read on another post that Alabaster is exactly like it however they are out of stock so I was hoping there might be another one that is really close. Creme Brulee - MillCreek or Lonestar or ? Mistletoe - MillCreek or CandleScience or ?. Looking for a nice clean, crisp winter pine smell that is not that nasty pine smell that you get sometimes in a bathroom spray. You guys are awesome! Thanks in advance!
  3. I went to Lowe's today and purchased "French Scents" Whole Home Air Fresheners and I love them so far. I don't know how long they last but it got me thinking that I'm sure there is a way I can make these. They are a square piece of cardboard with gel like fragrance rubbed on them in a zig zag. Then the space between the zig zags tear out for air to go through. You sit them on your air filters for your air conditioner. It smells up every room in the house. Here is a link to something similiar. http://www.everythingsmells.com/fiairfr.html Here is what I bought but in the Tropical Bay scent (not that that matters) http://www.bonanzle.com/booths/momspennies/items/Home_Air_Fresheners___Lot_of_2_French_Scents___Marine Has anybody made something like this and if so how do you make it?
  4. I want to try a 50/50 mixture of FO and Olive Oil (since I don't have DPG) so I can make some simmering oils. I want to put it on my combo candle/warmer burner. I have read some threads about being careful regarding the flashpoint of the oil. I can't seem to find how hot my candle warmer gets. Does anybody know how hot these things get? Mine is electric not the tealight kind. It is a regular candle warmer with a bowl that sits on top for the melts or oils. From what I read the tealight ones get hotter.
  5. It was getting pretty expensive to test FO's in reeds and not have them work out so I decided to try premixed reed diffuser oils. I have found two companies that are great! I try to order enough so with the cost of shipping it comes out to $1 an ounce my cost. Wellington's can fill a formal living/dining combo room. Northstar's tend to travel further including into my kitchen, family, and up the stairs. When selling these I include 10 3.5mm reeds. I have actually had people tell me that they have had to take reeds out because they are too strong. If you are interested in the fragrances that I have tried and liked from these two companies, let me know.
  6. Thanks. I guess I'm going to Walmart tomorrow.
  7. I sell reed diffusers and when I do shows the reed diffusers are packaged in cello bags so the customer can't open the jar to smell the fragrance. I have come up with an idea for sample tins. I use these small circle tins and place a round thin piece of cork in the bottom and then use a Q-Tip to spread fragrance oil on it. This works for a little while but then the fragrance goes away and I have to touch it up. Does anybody out there have a better idea?
  8. Does anybody know where I can purchase something similiar to these ceramic jars. I make reed diffusers and these would be really cool to sell. http://www.bedbathandbeyond.com/product.asp?order_num=-1&SKU=119558 Thanks so much!
  9. I have a show coming up towards the end of November. I have made some aroma beads and I am placing them in a 3x4 organza bag, I then put that bag into a polypropylene zipper bag. I then have been placing those bags into a large freezer zip bag however when I get close to the freezer bag I can smell the fragrance. I'm concerned that since the show is one month away I don't want my beads to release all of their fragrance. Am I OK? Should I be storing them some other way until the show? I need the glass jars to make some more beads so I don't know what to do with these packaged beads to keep them full of scent. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
  10. I sent an email to Cajun and asked if they could be refreshed, here is what they said: Yes, you can resoak the aroma beads, you can actually do it a few times before they won't hold any oil. You can also use heat to refresh them such as a hair dryer or a heat gun.
  11. 1. I just started making aroma beads (Cajun's) and placing them in a 3"x4" organza bag. I was wondering once the fragrance is gone can I refreshen them by placing them back into the mason jar and adding a little bit of oil, the same oil that they were in the first place? 2. Prices: I was thinking one for $3, two for $5? Is that reasonable? Also if I was to sell these wholesale how much should I charge and how much should the store charge? Any suggestions on what you do would be great. Thanks for your help!! I love this forum!!!
  12. It was BitterCreek and they are sold out too. OK here is one more site but these are $6 a piece with a 3 pack for $15. I don't know what is a reasonable price for these but I thought I would share what I found. Good luck! http://www.brookstonecandles.com/candle.making.supplies.dippingbears.html
  13. I don't do bears and I was trying to find where I saw them but I can't. I went ahead and did a search on the web and I found these. Now this company has a $150 minimum order so you would have to order 85 bears but they are really cheap, plus they have a lot of different ones to choose from. Just trying to help! I will keep trying to remember where I saw them. But meanwhile you can check these out. http://www.plushinarush.com/index.asp?PageAction=VIEWPROD&ProdID=135
  14. I ordered some base from ICS and made a spray. They say to use 1% which is what I did but I found it to be really light in smell. If anybody out there uses this do you put more than 1% of FO in it? I'm doing a 4oz spray bottle so what would you recommend I try? I did email them and they said you can use as much as you want however I was hoping for more of an exact amount. Also how long do you normally smell the spray? I have never done these sprays before so I don't know what to expect. Thanks for your help.
  15. I'm trying to find a very good reed for my line of reed diffusers. I don't know which size is the best 2.75mm, 3mm, or 3.25mm. I need to use the 10" reeds. I have purchased from www.reeddiffusers.org which seem to be OK but I just didn't know if there were any out there that were just "great" reeds. If most reeds are pretty much the same then which size is the best 2.75, 3, or 3.25mm? Thanks for your help!
