    I just received a snowman mold from Flexible Mold.... I poured using Ecosoya PB and started with an ECO4 but it blew through the side. Wicked down to an ECO2 but it drowned out. Anyone experienced with this mold - do you have a wick starting point. Thanks....

    I'm using all Soy......don't get me wrong, I love the scent but thought the sample smelled more woodsy...maybe because it's cured longer....

    It's so odd, I'm burning a candle now that I made from a sample of Twigs and Berries from CS when it was released. It smells much more woodsy (pine or fir) then the 16oz bottle I purchased and since made candles with...Anyone else notice this?

    Thanks Pam.....I think I have every lotion made at this point. The derm suggested using a free and clear type soap to help with the issue and glycerin was mentioned. I'm working with another forum member to test out some of her products.

    Does anyone sell? I was told this would be very beneficial to extremely dry skin. I don't want anything dyed or fragranced. I would prefer to buy if I can find without alot of additives. I guess I would be willing to try and make but would need some instructions since I've never done soaping only candles. Thanks

    Yeah, some suppliers seem to be taking advantage. Without mentioning names, I ordered 2-3oz samples and UPS was $13+...they didn't offer USPS, maybe because of the oils, but come on....if we all go out of business, they won't be doing too good!

    Shipping prices are way up all over due to the cost of fuel.....I'm trying to order in bulk as much as possible to cut down on multiple shipments.

    Ok, I should know this being it's my state flower but I don't think it has a scent??? Anyone know any supplier that has something to represent the CT Flower. I found the below info at Millcreek but not sure what a mountain laurel base is Happy, type--A unique floral with top notes of fresh red grapefruit and a cool petal floral bouquet. The heart blends mandarin tree blossoms leading to a mountain laurel base. Body Safe. FP200 Thx

    A customer asked about a yankee candle that was swirled with Macintosh Apple and Granny Smith Apple. I'm not familiar with any Yankee swirled candles. I currently use CS's Mac Apple.... Anyone know a dup for the Yankee Granny Smith....and if soy swirls?? Thx

    Yes, it's Penreco High Density Gel (Versagel CHP) from the Candlemaker's Store. I ordered a 2lb bag for $8.50 and it just came in a plastic bag in a few chunks. Since it's the first time I've seen it, I didn't know what to expect.....

    Thanks Cathy....I think I may need to get a gel that is not so thick...i could barely stir it until I heat it higher. I did add the fragrance when it was hot because when cooler it would just get clumpy....I'm going to melt down what I have done and try again and maybe add some more fragrance and see if I can smell it better...

    I'm new to using gel wax. Purchased some Penreco HP gel wax to make some air freshener tins. I melted in a Presto to about 240F and it still seemed kind of thick. Added FO (5%) and poured into tins however unless I stick it up to my nose I really don't smell it. I wanted to use as a car air freshener.....what am I missing? Do I need to add more FO? It's not like they're going to be lit. Also would Med be better for this...this stuff is really goopy. Thanks

    Thank you for the nice comments. The owner says he's doing alot of business. Since I only have my online store, it's a nice alternative to a brick and mortar without the overhead. My candles are also represented in quite a few other retail locations but not to this extent. This past year, my wholesale orders have increased alot....not sure what that means for the future of my business......if I could only find my crystal ball :smiley2:

    I'm also disappointed to see she's having problems. Went to reorder her Coconut Lime and it's no longer there. Hopefully things get straightened out for her soon. In the meantime, if anyone knows a good Coconut Lime with more Coconut than Lime, let me know. Just ordered MC's Coconut Grove to mix with a little lime but it's not really Coconut enough even before I add the lime Thx

    I start with the dye chips in my pouring pot, pre-melt with my heatgun and then add wax from melter. Temp is anywhere from 180F to 200F.... I stir, then add FO....., stir again, let sit to cool a bit and stir again. It seems like the dye is incorporated but sure enough, it shows up in the finished product. Purple is pretty bad too, but the red and cinnamon are the worse. I use C3, not that it should make a difference.. I think I'm going to try pouring through a mesh coffee filter since the cheesecloth didn't work....

    I'm thinking about switching to liquid for reds because I just can't seem to get rid of the sediment found in the red and cinnamon red dye chips. I get from CS. I melt prior to adding wax. Pour hotter. Tried straining through cheesecloth. However once the candle sets up they are near the bottom of the jar or bottom of clamshell. I love the colors I get but wish I could get rid of the extras.... Anymore ideas out there or a liquid red dye that compares in color and burn. thx
