  1. As far as Yankee goes their Tarts/Wax-melts are the best thing they have going for them... Just My Opinion...
  2. I Agree, Maybe, with thier Pilliars and Votives, you might have to light 3 of the same scent at a time to get a good throw...LoL Or when you buy votives from yankee just cut them in 3rds and take the wick out... and you got 3 tarts/melts for the Price of ONE... I believe their Votives and tarts are the same price... Not sure though Just be Sure Not to overflow your melter!!!
  3. Topofmurrayhil, and Abbiepql... You both have very valid points IMHO...
  4. Di_in_AZ, Could you perhaps link us right to the page that study is on... Thanks in Advance
  5. Maybe a piller wax 'Cause when the candle was new it waz one big hunk of wax with swirlls carved in it to make it look like a hunk of wood. It tunneled; so now I got all this wax I don't want to waste
  6. I have an unscented candle, that I bought I want to melt it down and scent it!!!, I was reading the parafinn fragrance loads on candle science... I'm not sure what kind of wax this is but I know it is straight-parafinn for sure. How much frangrance should I add to 1 12oz Jelly jar? From the camparisions I made of different parafinns on candle science I read the fragrance loads of all their parafinns... I ended up with about 1oz per. pound Does this sound right? The 12oz jelly jar that I'm working with is 3" in diamiter and 4" tall of wax any wick suggestions? I'm Planning on buying from Candle Science or Peaks. I greatly appricate any advice.... I was planning on putting the wax in a jelly jar on a candle warmer and stirring in the fragrance and putting in the wick than turning off the warmer for cooling... would this work??? Kind of like a pesto-pot...lol... but with the jar instead... I'm waiting for a response from you experts before I atempt anything...lol
  7. I've been mildly thinking about dabbling around in the candle making in my basement over the winter... for something to do... My Question is When using color-dyes; Does the Candle usually look darker or lighter When it is completey cooled. As aposed to what it looks like in liquid-form while in the presto pot? Liquid Dye in General Or does this vary with the kind of dyes and additives used? Thanks In Advance...
  8. Does anybody think the fabreze glass could hold up on a Warmer? Without Cracking that is...LOL...
  9. I was watching "Good Eats" last night with "Alton Brown" He said Scallope shells, Can Be used for cooking so long as you are carefull with them. So I figured one could probably pour wax in them to make a cute decortive Breakable Tart, Wax-melt, or Wax Air Freshner. If they so wished. Or Maybe even Floating Candles if they were deep enough... "If decide to Dive for them just make sure it is the season and get a scallope license so you don't get in trouble...LOL..." :DJust and Ideal Anyway...
  10. Since its going to be in cold weather, I don't see it melting or anything... You should be okay-dokey!!! But if you have a Basement, why not just store it there....LOL... If no Basement, I feel your pain none here eiter...LOL...
  11. If the Febreze-candle is was new with uncraked glass do you think it could hold up to placing on a warmer? Just Curious...
  12. Why not give "IGI 4627" a try for Tarts!!! It can hold 2oz/Per lb. of Fragrance!!! At least thats what it says on candle science...LOL...
  13. Yes it is a CD that emits Fragrance, they are made for the FeBreze Scent-stories player!!!, Y***ME is just making disk for the player with their own scents that is all...
  14. My Thoughts on the Fabreeze Candle, I Think you would have to dig out the wax from about 10 or 12 and put it in a Jar to place on a warmer, or a Tea-light melter to get any throw... Don't for get to De-Wick first...LOL...

  18. Does having an electric warmer on constantly count as a power burner?
  19. I don't know if I count as a power burner, But I do have a melt going on my electric melter all the time... Electric melters are much safer when not home or in bed...LOL... Here is the one I use... It has a 20watt heatting plate, and it plugs into the wall. Similar ones can be found at tartburners.com an NO IT IS NOT my site. I found it surfing the web one-day...
