    I enjoy eating at a middle eastern restaurant called Taboon My favorite Sandwich is the Lamb Shawarma Is there anywhere I could get a Cumin FO and a Cloves FO to make a candle. That would make my house smell like a Shawarma I've been in the candle business for a while I just checked peaks candle and candle science they did not have these FO's any Suggestions for FO Suppiers???

    I wanted to add some insight as a consumer and avid candle burner.... I buy and burn them all Parrafin wax, soy wax, palm wax, beeswax, etc. What I have learned though the years is that they all have their own pros and cons.

    I would like to experiment with making a long lasting taper I figure The highest meltpoint Wax I can find and the Coolest wick will make a long lasting taper Or does it not work that way? I wanted to ask the experts here...LOL...

    I want to get into making candles just for myself someday... But Money is to tight at the momment....LOL... I can tell you when I buy candles I hate anything rose scented...YUCK.... LOL... I have learned alot here just reading Thank You All!!!

    To Me a Candle with Nice hot throw you should be able to smell standing anywhere in the room you have it in, yet not be over-powering.

    Since this board is also about home scenting... I wanted to reccommend Glade Glass Scents inperticurly the Clean Linen Scent for people that like subtle to moderate throw.

    I Agree Vio. When I'm eating if I'm gonna smell wax I want to smell straight parifinn. I like the smell of parifinn wax with no fo just as much as I like scents. Call me crazy if you like...

    In My book if it can fill our 11-ft. 3" X 15ft. Family-room... I will buy that scent again. Keep in mind this room as a Bay-window which adds about an extra 2ft. of width to the middle of the room.

    1.) Is 3x6 a Standard Pillar? OR, if there is NOT a Standard size 2.) Is there a most Common size Pillar? 3.) For those of you who make Pillars What size do you sell the most of? ---Thanks In Advance.

    Sorry, if this is the wrong spot. I was searching the web trying to come up with the reason different kinds of candles were originaly made. I know the taper was first used for light. But, what was the origianal intent for Votives, Pillars, Jars, tea-lights etc... And who first made them? (I'm guessing the tea-light was for tea-time before the light-bulb was invented...LOL...) I found this a mind-boggling question.

    This is very interesting... I Don't make candles, I just buy a alot of'em LOL. I read this board to be an informed candle buyer LOL... I'm in Michigan and our high was 49ºF for today. we kept the heat at 70ºF Bought a pillar at walmart a while a go and it did nothing but tunnel, I think it was under wicked because the wax it's made of is hard as a rock LOL

    As far as I'm concerned Zinc Wicks are tottally safe... They've used Zinc on penny's all these years... Plus its in the morning bowl of cereal also...LOL...

    I Do Believe it varies from wax to wax... I'm sure it would help the chandlers here if you told them the kind of wax...LOL
