  1. SW's and soapsilly's don't smell anything alike to me. I like SS"s better.
  2. I've used both in my own formulations (we don't use bases) and never noticed an off smell, and I have a good nose, so I've been told. Anyhow, I'd purchase samples first and test them with some of your fo's and see how they turn out. Testing is key regardless of what anyone else tells you.
  3. I recently blended Sweet Pumpkin from Soap Silly now Daystar and DS's Poison'd Apple and they were tdf! Nothing beats Soap Silly's Sweet Pumpin IMO, it's a great blender and stand alone for me and sells all year long.
  4. Soapsilly's aka Daystar now. The best lemon curd. I had tried some of AH's fo's that were similar to some other suppliers fo's (they're newer fo's) and they were off to me. So I decided I'm sticking with my original suppliers.
  5. With the way the economy has been going, it's no surprise to me to see another supplier closing.
  6. BB, I have found that SS has unique names, but many of the oils smell the same as others which can be disappointing when you thought you got something new and unique.
  7. I don't think they are pricey at all, given they are oils that have been tested and formulated for both body and candle. The composition makeup of oils that are pure undiluted and safe for body applications make up a pricier oil. Just from the oils I purchase myself directly from manufacturers, I recently saw $60.00 for a pound of fo from one of the manufacturers places. Some of my oils I purchase from the manufacturers are just as costly as the ones from places like these. SC's and SW's have higher prices on many of their oils than SS and DS.
  8. I really like using shrink wrap on ours.
  9. I think it's a good idea they want to implement something like this. But I think $12k is high. Think about all those get rich quick people who start up soap and candle businesses only to make a bad name for the rest of us by not learning and spending time and having a desire to offer quality products??
  10. With the economy going the way that it is, how's business been going for you? In the spring we noticed sales had declined by 15%, but as summer hit, we've seen an increase of sales by 25%. So overall there's been an increase in 10%. We are in the southwest, where are you?
  11. We've raised ours from $8.00 for 8oz to $10.50 for 8oz.
  12. I love how they look so creamy.
  13. soapsilly's smells just like vco to me.
  14. Justscent is one of my top favs. The only thing that bothers me is that she's always discontinuing something or adding a better version. Personally I like the older ones better. Anyways, with that said. My favs are (of course these change often ): Coconut Milk (now gone) Iced Champagne (exactly like Southern Soapers champagne and cheaper!) Berry Licious (gone too) Strawberry Daiquiri Cherry Limeade Lollipops Enchanted Orchid Hyacinth Chula Orchid
  15. Thanks for the reviews. I love soapsilly. I have never had problems myself. I think I mentioned long ago that only one time my order was delayed. I recently had the opp to speak with her before she closed. I really feel for her. She is a one woman biz, working from home, with children, a husband that works 14 hours a day and travels away from home, goes to school part time and has had a run of bad luck with her health, she's quite young too. She just had surgery last week on her shoulder from her car accident. Anyways, she was really nice and answered my questions I had regarding phthalate free fragrances. We were on the phone for probably an hour. Her marshmallow is the best. BTW, I asked her if she was going to sell her biz with her closing it down for her surgery (I was a bit worried I might not see my beloved marshmallow again) and her response was a stern never, so I think you'll be waiting a really long time. That's ok, it just gives more for me to buy from her. (hehe)
  16. I actually blend mine with Sweet Pumpkin from soapsilly and milk from just scent, plus a hint of lait sucre and buttercream frosting from daystar. After testing so many pumpkins I realized I just had to blend my own. :smiley2:
