  1. At the moment, one phrase comes to mind....one mans trash is another mans treasure. I think it kinda fits here, don't you?
  2. I have a paraffin wax machine (used in beauty salons). I WAS using it for my tendonitis and arthritis in my hands and don't really use it that much. Not sure how hot the wax gets once melted but, could I use this as a safer alternative to melting wax then using my gas stove? Not sure about mixing colors in it though, as it might stain it?
  3. With a 3" diameter, I believe, from what I have read here, you should wait 3 hours for proper melt pool. Please correct me if I am wrong of course.
  4. That one on the far right front looks like a foot missing some toes to me. Or maybe it's to much budweiser?
  5. I just got my starter kit today (EZ Soy wax). I have the creme brulee scent and just love it. I would like to make a dessert candle and was wondering how to go about getting the wax to look crumbly for the topping of the dessert. TIA. Dawn
  6. I just received my kit from BC. Boy, that creme brulee is AWESOME!! Not to keen on the verbena berry or the escape. They also forgot to include my free sniffies. Dawn
  7. So with this wick dipper, you are dipping the wick? That doesn't cause any smoke?
  8. I thought they were called snuffers. What you do is put it over the flame and it extinguishes it without having to blow it out and risk getting wax all over the place.
  9. I would make the trip and let them know your next course of action. You might get your money then.
  10. Note to self: 1. Take others notes into consideration and learn from there mistakes. 2. Get myself a full body suit. More notes to come after Tuesday, when I get my first kit.
  11. I would say if you can dip TP....you can dip just about anything.
  12. That was a very interesting story. "the pill" may turn out to be just like "triple scent"? Who knows.
  13. When we are making up our own names for scents, would it be a good idea to see if it is trademarked? I know that business names can be trademarked but not too sure about the scents. Dawn
  14. My mom's into online poker (been to vegas in the WSOP last summer) and she has been on a "bad luck streak" and I was googling for money candle scents, hoping to find a scent that could bring money (just like the green color is suppose to), and I came a cross this: http://www.candleme.com/moneycandle.html Have any of you ever seen this? Done this? How would you keep the money protected? I am new and just been cruising around the WWW and am finding all these facinating ways to make a candle. (going to need to put a hand mixer on my shopping list) Good thing I have a 1 GB hard drive...my favorites are getting a workout. Oh, and all the scents.....OMG!!! That's going to be the toughest part of this buisness for me. I am seriously thinking about doing pre orders so I don't waste too much money on scents that won't sell in my area. Either that or a survey type deal. Dawn
  15. I see one error on your homepage. We believe in making all of our products with fresh, high-quality ingredients and providing prompt courteous service. HTH :smiley2: LOVE the soaps on that page too. How did you do that with the swirls?
  16. I ordered my first stater kit from BC yesterday. It comes with the veggie wicks. I notice that I don't see to much of these wicks being used. Is there something I should know about them? Thanks. Dawn
  17. Well, Just placed my first order. Can't wait for it to get here.
  18. I love those labels too!! I can't wait to get to the point where I can design my own labels!! I already have my business named picked out though. Should I get that taken care of now, or wait till I have tested some candles? Also, what types of candles do you girls/guys test?
  19. I checked them out too. I am still thinking that this kit http://secure.candlesupply.com/catalog_page_detail.cfm?queries_index=index7&title_bar=Soy%20Container%20Candle%20Kit&recordno=9&Product_CatalogID=2191&ProductCodeID=76&ProductSubCodeID=249&NewProduct=0 would be better though since I don't have any equipment at all. Dawn
  20. Angi, I just asked this same question the other day. Here is the link to a great form. HTH. http://www.candletech.com/forums/showthread.php?t=34521 Dawn
  21. Sorry. I thought that's what you were looking for, was to buy it.
  22. Deb, Thanks for the link. So far I think I like the starter kit from BC. I am still searching though. Oh, I am in Michigan buy the way. Dawn
  23. Hobby Lobby has a Candle Creation candle making machine. Has anyone here ever used that? And if so, what did you like/dislike about it? Thanks. Dawn
