  1. Just need a little help here. I had a sample of this, and it smells so good in the candle, just can't remember for the life of me where I got the sample... anyone know a good supplier for bamboo verbena? tia!!!
  2. Well, I owe it to you guys, so thank you!!! I was thinking about doing the tart thing for the leftovers, now I guess I need to find some molds for that! (this candle thing just keeps growing, doesn' it? There is no hope of escape!!)
  3. okay, i tried again last night. made 24, and poured the first pour just to where the mold starts to turn out for the lip, second pour about an hour and 1/2 later (on a cookie sheet), all the way to the top.....and 90% of them came out great!!! I'll take 90% considering before it was more like 10%!! I was so happy I wanted to cry!! haha!
  4. That is the cutest thing I've ever seen! I'd definitly buy that!!!
  5. okay, i am sorry it seems like I"m always asking questions. And I promise I looked and looked to try to find an answer first...... I am trying to get some pretty votives to make for christmas gifts. I have tried 4761 and 4794. My problem is in the repour, even on the the low shrink wax it still shrinks up too much for me. I do the repour the next morning, and I pour at 10 degrees hotter than the first pour, and I can't seem to get the repour to match up. I mean the color looks great, there are no lines, but when I repour it's not the same shape as the original top. it's like I can't get the repour to seep to the very edges of the mold, so it looks super crappy. Can't tell you how many times i've melted and re-melted to try to figure out what I"m doing wrong. Please help me before I throw all of these molds in the garbage!!!
  6. This wax is really messy, but I second the gloves, and the hot throw is great! The only FO that didn't throw for me was cotton blossom from lonestar. but to be fair, I only tried wicking it once, and I haven't gone back to try again. (sorry, can't remember off hand what wick i have in that one)
  7. BCS gave me three free samples with my last order. (and it was a small order)
  8. Right, my question was about the holders, but you ruined it and brought up a whole different issue that I didn't even know I had! Honestly, you guys are the best!
  9. Thank you so much! I have some 4761 I am going to try next, so I get to start all over again!!
  10. Thanks Scented! I hadn't considered that there might be a smaller wick than that, since that is the smallest that my supplier carries.....
  11. Secondary thought... (since I've never really burned votives) do they have to be in a cup that strictly fits around the votive, leaving no space to melt away? (sorry for the duh moment)
  12. Okay, I have been trying to make some votives, and am having bad luck. I am using 4794 and zinc 44-24-18. Tried Apple Blossom and Sweet Pea FO, and both did the same thing. As long as the votive cup is small enough to conform to the shape of he votive, all is great. But if I use a votive cup that is rounded, or a different shape than the votive, it just burns straight down the middle, using up the entire wick in 30 mintues... any ideas?
  13. Wow, that is crazy!!! My first thought was that you could use that somehow in your selling... "Even crackheads can recognize the better candle!!" (sorry, it's late in the day............)
  14. NO, I have not broken the news to her yet. I am such a huge chicken. I keep rolling around in my head what she could do....I even wondered if she could remove the wick, would that make it okay? I don't know. Her daughter said she was putting stuff like ribbon, flowers, and beads on them. She also mentioned someting about stick pins if I remember right. (I pictured in my head those pins with little pearls or something at the end, which she would have to stick into the candle, causing even more problems) And no, she can't stand, she is confined to her wheel chair, so what she can do is limited. But I know there are tons of other things, I'm thinking she picked this because it was small and easy. I am going to call the daughter today and tell her I've done some "checking around" and kind of ease into the conversation from there!! yikes!
  15. Thanks guys, and yes, sudsnwicks you make a very good point. I have to tell her one way or the other, to keep her out of trouble, and others out of fire hazard danger.
