  1. Thanks Stella, I'll give that a try I must say though I always do clean my wick pins but I'll try the release stuff, I'm sure I have a can somewhere
  2. Damn I hate the British weather, especially the scottish weather, a bit chillier here. Gonna be pouring some swirly votives I think in every scent I can get my hands on lol
  3. Lol was looking for the same answer myself Got my pillar wax on monday and having probs getting the wick pins out too

  7. Had mine arrive this week great for my small jars that I'm testing just now, should have really got some extra wick sustainers for all the extra bits lol. Top of my list when I order again
  8. Thanks Sharon so far its looking good for one of them, will have to wick up the other. On the 3rd burn just now once thats done will be out making a mixture of scents to see how they go, so glad I just had a load of wicks arrive lol
  9. For the first few years of making candles, I stuck with the paraffin wax, then will I was recovering from an op at the beginning of the year I had so much time on my hands to sit on the pc, I began looking at soy. Having seen so many gorgeous looking candles made with soy, I thought this would be the time to do some reading up on the subject. So I ordered some wax and as soon as I was able to stand long enough to pour, I was away, testing this fo and that fo. For the past few months I've tried to make container candles with the soy but wasn't entirely happy with the results. So after scanning the message boards thought right I'll give the parasoy a try, so I've now got 2 different size jars with a 50/50 blend, and YAY they have a great scent throw and so far the mp is looking good. Can't believe I never tried this before as it was so easy. Fingers crossed they still burn great after the first burn. Will let you know how they go
  10. Just taken delivery today of some new scents, so will definitely be pouring some Vanilla Mint Apricot, its awesome and really need to get my container jars sorted with correct wicks, so will be busy, busy, busy here
  11. Oh definitely not, my husband is always saying I stink even people I work with can smell them off me
  12. "Why don't you make your own candles instead of buying them" said hubby 4 years ago.... lol. I bet he regrets it now I've been up till the early hours of the morning making them and had a full time job to go to. Started off selling to friends and workmates, now have an ebay shop and website. Spent an absolute fortune, took over the house and now have a workshop that hubby built for me to move all the candle stuff out to, but they still spill over into the odd cupboard in the house lol.
  13. I got mine from our local DIY store, Homebase but I'm in the UK, that was only £20. I certainly wouldn't be without it now. Sarah
  14. I've got Cierra Candles Lavender FO, not sure about it, the 2 bottles I had before this last one were great, really strong, not sure about this one, but it could just be me, spent days pouring and think I've killed my nose lol, can't smell much of anything Sarah
  15. I have to agree, I certainly wouldn't be without them now, perfectly centered wicks everytime. Sarah
  16. Wow that is some list, have already been doing some of them, but will go through them and add them to my things to do Many many thanks for that Sarah
  17. I got a sample pack of all the sizes on ebay, it was easier as I'm in the UK and would know what size I needed to suit my jars when I placed my order in the US. Have you tried ebay.com. I know they tend to be a bit dearer but I found it was the best way for me Sarah
  18. Hi everyone I have recently opened my website, that was the hard part, so I thought. Have a fair amount of products available. As I live in the UK, and as the rest of you know that suppliers for candlemaking are few and far between over here. I started with my shop on Ebay and so I'm bringing customers from there over to the website with just my candles and a few FO's. So I thought the next move would be to really get into the supplying side, ordered a load of FO's from the US. That was easy, now I need to get the customer's in, I've already listed as a supplier on a few community forums, am being an active member of every message board I can find and adding to details to search engines. Am I missing anything? Oh, nearly forgot had adverts on ads by Gooooogle too. I'm not expecting overnight miracles and realise that building a business isn't an instant thing. I just need to know that I'm heading in the right direction Any help really appreciated Sarah
  19. Have to agree with Breanna there I've just opened my website up using http://www.diyestores.com they're very helpful and are ideal for prim sites as you can buy the graphics there too. You don't really need to have a great knowledge of html as you can get loads of help from the support team. Sarah
  20. They look great Vicky, I've just started using the centering tools as well, I bought a load from the US as no one was stocking them in the UK. I certainly wouldn't be without them now. I haven't seen the ones for tealights but will certainly be looking out for them when I do my next mass order Sarah
  21. LOL I had someone complain about pillars that burned almost to the edge, when I explained that was how a well made candle should burn, they replied they just wanted one that burned down in the center. Think I should send them to buy some of those ones then. Sarah:grin2:
