If you have never tried this scent I HIGHLY recommend it. It's absolutely amazing, strong and sensuous. The men in my house LOVE it.

I did a search to see if others carried it and I found that it is a man's cologne made by Creed. Now I need to go out and find it and compare and see if it's a close dupe. I purchased it from Lynden House International (in Canada). I missed a word in the scent, it's "Green Irish Tweed". It's a hit in this house and my husband loves the scent as well. This is a keeper for sure.

I wanted to soap a "man's" soap bar, something "macho", lol, and I found the perfect scent, it's called "Green Tweed" and oh my, I can't stop smelling this stuff, AMAZING. I didn't want to soap it green, but I wanted a masculine look so I used some black, grey, blue/green, and brick red... I am calling this one "Cold Steel". My son who doesn't usually take an interest in the soap I make went by the tray they are sitting on, I unmolded them tonight and cut them.. and he grabbed a bar and said "I am taking one of these"... I said you better wait, they need to cure before you can use them and he said "darn", lol. Here is "Cold Steel"

:D . I was just thinking, senior moment, we must be only ones up at this hour, ain't menopause and sleepless nights fun :tiptoe: . I best try and get an hour or two sleep, I have to go to work in the morning, yuck. I would rather be soaping!!!

We don't have birthdays anymore, those are only for old people, lol, we are forever young (from one grandma to another) . Everyday is OUR day, since we are "vintage" and "priceless"

The large one is a donation I am giving at work for the United Way Campaign and the basket will be raffled off and all proceeds going to that charity. I still have labels to do, but will do that tomorrow. and a pic of a smaller basket I did up to give to a friend

Boy, I want what you are having, seeing doves and... just teasing you Grandma!!! I laughed at your description of the airborn gold particles. You should have seen Makayla and I after we made that soap (sparkles) she had been handling it and I looked at her face and she was very "bright" and "sparkly", ROFL.

I like them, you did well trying to swirl in melt and pour, it's not an easy thing to do. If you want taller, depending on your mold of course you will either have to make more M&P to fill your mold higher. Good job!!!!

When everyone warned me this was addicting you weren't fooling me. Here are a few more soaps/salt bars Made this one last night and it seized on me REAL GOOD but I am pleased with it and it smells wonderful - scented "Orient" The next one is the vanilla salt bars I made in the middle of last week and was concerned about because I knew darn well it would discolor and last is a melt and pour I did about a month ago with my grandaughter and the tops are sprinked with silver sparkles. Makayla and I thought it was a good idea at the time until I looked at my hands and I was really really sparkly, lol. Scented "Country Christmas"

Holy hannah, I had a batch that seized on me last night but nothing like you went through . Mine was fine until I put in the FO which I had never used before and it traced sooooooooooooo fast.... and once I managed to get the stuff into my moulds it heated up REALLY FAST and I thought, oh oh..... but I managed to unmold and cut and they are okay and the scent is wonderful, is called "Orient". I am about to attempt another batch with an FO I bought from the same place which I have never used as well so I am prepared for it to go really quick on me too. I think I will use the whisk just to be on the safe side. I don't think you will be able to re-batch that and it sounds like a problem with the lye solution, not the FO.

Well, I am happy to report that everything turned out just fine, phewwww. I will unmold late today or tomorrow and then cut and will post pics on the other forum here. It SMELLS DIVINE!!!!! I am going to call these bars "The Orient Express"

Boy, that sure wasn't fun...never had that happen to me before. Should be interesting to see how they turn out. I managed to get in one mold and then the remainder into the second mold . It sure heated up (jelling) FAST. It must be the fragrance I used. I bought it today here in Ottawa and the girl told me it was great in soaps . I love the scent though, it's called "Orient", now lets hope it turns out, keep your fingers crossed. The oils I used were crisco, coconut, avocado, olive and coco butter and superfatted with sweet almond oil. It should be a nice lathering/conditioning bar, now we wait and see. Keep your fingers crossed for me please.

Well they are done, out and cut BUT not sure I like them. Will post pics tomorrow in the other forum. I found when I was cutting them that some pieces, the bottom and scented part was a biy crumbly. Will wait and see if they harden up like the other I did in the last couple of days. Same recipe so there is no reason unless the Vanilla FO is the culprit.

I am SO SAD, I can't see any pictures, that has happened to me twice on this board. I am wondering where you host your pictures and if the other person I could see pics of their soap if they also have the same photo host site as you do?

ROFL, well I am french speaking and never heard of "pastore" BUT who says we can't invent a new word, heck in France they use words such as "stop" instead of "arret (in Canada), le bagel, lol, le tune (meaning the song), etc. etc.

Well it's in the mold now. I did it a bit different. I took 3/4 of it and scented with the vanilla madagascar, then I took the other 1/4 and split that and left part of it non-colored and non-scented and the other part left it also unscented and colored it beige/gold color. I poured the scented part in my mold first than poured the unscented and beige/gold color and swirled in into the scented uncolored and then took the unscented and white part and carefully poured in over the top and put the lid on and now I wait to see what happens.

ROFL, I saw it too, as a matter of fact, I read the title the wrong way, the way you are all thinking and took a double take and saw that it was "masterbatching" and not what my mind thought my eyes had seen, lol. Candlespastore, you don't see it because of the "pastor" in your nick,

Darn, didn't think of that. Guess I will have to save the honey for a regular soap. I am just waiting for my lye/water to cool and about to make these. Oh well I will make it without and see how dark the vanilla scented part gets and if it leeches into the rest of the bar. The thing is I have used this FO before when I made my very first bar of soap, which was at the time a melt and pour, clear glycerine bar which I had colored a very pale blue .... looked really nice and then 3 days later when I walked past the soap IT HAD GONE CACA BROWN to my utter dismay, ROFL. You should have seen the look on my face when I spotted them that color, I said to myself WTF, lol. I learnt real quick that the vanialla EOs for the most part, even if they are clear in color, like to throw the brown gremlins into the mix . I am itiching to use this honey that I got from a co-worker. Her father is a beekeeper and he sells his honey which is amazing looking and tasting too and I also got the most amazing bees wax from him that smells DIVINE too and at a steal of a price. I have yet to use it as well in soapmaking or my lipbalms but I plan to do that really soon.

Oh sorry, I just the scent that you used. Oh it must smell like heaven and they look like heaven to me!!!

just to scare you more... IF it was scientifically documented that breast milk in soap was safe and WAS the answer to the "fountain of youth" (scarey to me is BOTOX injections, lol) how would you feel about using it then????

Thanks for the information, yes I just read that honey may superheat in straight soapmaking so adding salt may spell disaster. I truly want to incorporate this into my recipe and perhaps I have to tweek the recipe and ensure that the white part doesn't contain salt (which means only using 1/4 of the batch at most, and not swirling but layering Oh well, I guess the only way I am going to find out, lol, is by trying it. The worst that can happen is I end up throwing the batch out but if it works..... Wish me luck. If you hear a BIG BANG, you might hear "Oh honey, I blew up the kitchen"
