  1. Thanks for the nice comments guys. Wildcrafter, I think the same way. That's why I called it a pedicure bar. Is the sassafrass your using the powder for color, or an eo?
  2. Thanks you guys for the nice comments. Thank you Carrie for commenting on my website and products. I struggled with how to label my shallow tins. I'm getting a lot of positive response from people who are buying them.
  3. This was the first time I've made a soap with loofah in it. I love the scent, but I'm not sure if I like the loofah personally. I sold some already today, and it was my first day having out, so I guess other people like loofahs in their soap. :smiley2: It is scented Rosemary, Peppermint, Tea Tree, Spearmint, & Cajeput EOs. It has benzoin powder and Green Clay for color.
  4. I made this mold recently and I love it. This is Pink Sugar on the bottom and peppermint and Balsam Peru EO on the top. The yellow is when it was straight from the mold. And the brown is after curing all the way. I thought it looked fun after cutting it with the brown edges. Wish it could stay that way.
  5. These are Orange & Spearmint EO. Colored with Sea Clay and Morrocan Red Clay. It was fun to try something new.
  6. I've been using these guys http://www.fatcow.com/fatcow/fatcow.bml I really like them. Very reasonable, they have a website building program and e-commerce options too. I went with my own design, but kept their hosting. I love their customer service. It is rare these days that you can reach someone on the phone to help you, and they do that.
  7. Ok did you guys get this email? This is weird! Out of the blue their doors are closed and now they are open again. And saying they "are still committed" to us. With totally no explanation. Hmmmm We thank you for your patience and support during this past week. We apologize for any inconviences and problems you may have experinced during our down time. We are now up and running at full capacity. We are still committed in helping you with our same great products and excellent customer service. Thank You for Your Business and Support!
  8. Does your label program allow you to do shapes? If so try alternating one solid square to one not all across the area you want as the border. Basically your making your own border. You can use your fill button to make it whatever color you want. Does that make sense?
  9. http://craftserver.com/forums/showthread.php?t=45738 Here is another discussion about this. I get it that you have to add them manually but I don't know how. I still need to know this for later too. I'm still working on shipping:tongue2: I can't stand not having customer service to talk to about these things.
  10. For some reason the shipping calculator isn't working on my website. I've been on hold with pay pal for 45 minutes now, and they can't tell me why. I'm hoping maybe someone here can help me. I picked to charge by weight, but I don't see where to put the weight of an item. I did set up the rates, so it should be registering something, but it isn't.
  11. Another thing I have to do is cover the unlit candles or store them somewhere so I have periods of time that I don't smell any FO at all. I'm not nearly as bad with EO. Maybe the headaches are stress related too, since ice cream helped:D
  12. I have really sensitive lungs and throat. I get really bad lung congestion and soreness in my chest if I test like you are talking about. I also get a scratchy throat. I've had to back off power testing and just burn testers like a normal person would burn their candles. I can test a couple candles per day, and for about 3-4 hours at a time. Sometimes I give myself a break here and there so I'm not smelling anything for a couple days. I also have to wear a respirator when making them, and when making soap. If I do this I am fine. I had times though when I thought I would have to give it up. It worked for me to just slow down. And I've learned some of the particular scents I should stay away from and don't test them at all.
  13. Well this place is in the US. But they are in WI. On a map they look closer to you than they were to me. http://www.woodlandmarketing.com/ I got a really nice portable shelf to take to the farmer's market. They have many other types too that are nice. Compared to other shelving places they had good prices. I'm pretty sure everything is wood. HTH:smiley2: Not sure why they require a password to look at their products though
  14. i saw they have an email there for comments. Maybe they will share who they got it from. then you'd at least have a shot of seeing who else carries the same one.
  15. wow that was out of the blue, at least for me. I just ordered from them a couple months ago and nothing was said about closing. They were one of the best places to get CDN wicks, glad I decided not to go with CDNs.
  16. Oregon trails has the best sandalwood I've smelled. Soaps wonderfully. I put the link cuz it is a little hard to find. It is in the M rather than S list. http://www.oregontrailsoaps.com/fragranceKO.html#m Chris is right, there is nothing like patchouli EO. Some of the FO are almost as expensive as the EO. I've never smelled an FO that even comes close. EO goes a very long way. I only use .5 oz in a 4lb recipe of CP.http://secure.soapmaking.com/products.php?cat=54 here is a link for patchouli for $48 pp If you are doing candles, the sandalwood isn't too hard to wick. But the patchouli FO and EO can be a challenge in containers. I don't have much of an issue in pillars though.
  17. Has anyone soaped this scent from Aroma Haven, AKA Rustic Essentials. I'm wondering if it sticks and how well it behaved in CP. Also how does it do in soy candles. OOB I really like this one.
  18. I just did a guy's scent black and brown. I poured the two colors at the same time. It looks pretty, and very masculine. The only issue is the bubbles turn color. Did you make up that name or is it a dupe? Just wondering, a company called Aveda makes a perfume called "Love" and it smells wonderful.
  19. Another idea could be to use the transparency film for overhead projectors and cut it to the size you need. I've done this with a circle cutter for round containers but you could do it easier for a square container with a slide cutter. You can still punch a hole for the wick. Everytime I use cardstock or paper for candles some of the oils absorb on to it. The plastic wouldn't do that. You get the film at Staples, and it is $20 for 100 sheets.
  20. Are they the standard votive molds with a wick pin or a different type of mold? Are yours like this? http://www.peakcandle.com/products/Votive-Mold--Standard-15-Hour__M1020.aspx
  21. I love the folded instructions inside, but when I tried that mine got splotchy with the FO. Even plain soy wax is oily. How do you keep the paper from getting oil splotches?
  22. I've tried Peaks. It was easy to wick, and had a good throw, but I haven't tried the other ones mentioned to compare.
  23. I use about 2 tbsp of liquid silk in batches about 3-4 lbs. It is fine on my skin. It makes the soap feel really nice. I've always read that the amount to add is a tbsp pp. You should be fine. As for the condensation, are you sure it isn't oil instead of water? And if it is water, are you using the full amount when mixing your lye and water? Maybe you could use less water. I get much less ash when I use less water, but then I don't have as much time to swirl.
  24. ok I figured it out. I needed to skip their create a button part and just take the url of the image and copy and paste that into the custom button area. PHEW! You guys really helped me alot, thank you very much. The tech devil site made it make more sense to me. I just had to play with it. I just found this site too, where you can totally make your own and save it or get the html code for it. http://cooltext.com/ They have other free tools too, like logo design stuff. What a fun website. I can upload everything for online previews, or publish online. I don't want to publish it yet until I am done. I am just working with the preview options for now.
  25. Ok I just tried a couple. As long as it was a single item it worked fine. But the items that had drop down menus didn't keep the drop down selections, and the view cart button asked to have a price to make the button. I tried that and it added the price to the cart. Obviously that didn't work right. So am I supposed to be saving them somewhere like jenscandles said, importing them to the paypal panel, then adding the changes through the paypal panel? I'm not actually connected to my server yet so how, or where would I store them? As you can tell I am extremely new to all of this, sorry if these are stupid questions.
