  1. I called NV Candle molds. And they have some great rates for 50 or more molds. The 2x4 are only $4.88 for over 50. Wish I could afford that right now. Guess I have to stick with candlechem:(
  2. I ordered some samples from them a few months ago. OOB I liked a few. I liked their vanilla bean, magnolia, very sexy for men, and lavender. I have only put the lavender in wax so far. It was very nice, but it didn't throw very well in my soy. The ones I didn't care for were, muscadine (smells like grapes) patchouli & sandalwood. Neither are even close to the EOs. HTH
  3. Ya it figures the ones I was attracted to aren't there anymore. Guess I'll just get the wicks from them. The only other ones that sound interesting are Arabian Spice and Mexican Vanilla. I have most of their other ones from other suppliers.
  4. I guess I will try selling them in my area to see what happens. I'm doing a FM in an area with a lot of retired people and families with little ones. I think I'll start with tins, nice and safe. I wanted to be able to have them at a much cheaper price, but with the price of the tins (w/shipping) they will have to be up there with my other candles.
  5. Here is one I thought looked interesting. Anyone try this one? http://www.wholespectrum.biz/Merchant2/merchant.mvc?Screen=PROD&Store_Code=WS&Product_Code=CAROMA-01&Category_Code=DHSA I wish they weren't out of stock.
  6. Does anyone know of a cheaper place to get these molds? http://www.candlechem.com/tin_round.htm I'm only interested in the 2x4 and 2x6. Love these molds but it seems like they have gone up a lot since I ordered last.
  7. Thanks, this gives me a few that sound good. I really like the sound of Ginger Bergamot, and Tahitian Black Ginger but I don't see them on the list to order from. Do you know if they are still available?
  8. I've only smelled Peaks, but it really is incredible. You can smell the pecans, coconut, and of course the chocolate. And it has a super strong throw in every type of wax I have put it in.
  9. I get it more now. I don't think you have to trademark everything on your labels. As long as your actual business name is trademarked, that's what matters. But you should think about adding other categories to your trademark if you are going from candles to bath and body.
  10. I haven't ordered FOs from JBN before. Are there any scents you can't live without from them?
  11. Good info thanks:)Wonder if there is a way to offer a free warmer somehow to encourage more sales. My cat likes to wave her tail over candle flames. She has singed it so many times. So I could see other cat people preferring not to have flames. We have other cats too, they aren't interested at all, but she is really attracted to flames for some reason. So you sell them for less than your wicked candles?
  12. Did you find out the answer to your question? I'm not sure if I am understanding what you are asking but here's a couple things I know about trademarking. It actually depends on the words you are wanting to trademark. Some words are known as standard words (this isn't the exact term they used ) that they won't allow you to trademark. In my name they would only allow the first part but not the second part. So my trademark is the logo, the first part of my name, and of course the concept of the mark you are trademarking. If you are making an amendment to your trademark, you only have 6 wks to do it. Also, I had a ton of questions, so I called them. They were very good at answering everything, so it is worth a call. HTH
  13. How well do wickless candles sell? I think it is a good idea to offer them to people who don't like to have flames in their homes.Do they sell for the same amount regular candles go for? And can you just use the same containers you use for regular candles?
  14. That's funny:laugh2: Here I was just wanting to get bright colors that don't fade. Not even considering they would have a bad smell. Lucky for TKB I didn't see this post before putting my order in.
  15. I thought is was disgusting too. Could you imagine what your walls would look like? I've heard of people getting a lot of soot on their walls from improperly wicked candles, so you'd have tons of soot and grease on top of it. Pretty
  16. I just got a shipment of all the colors. Now I'm nervous. I'm really sensitive to odd smells. Does this happen to them with MP or only CP? I recently got an order of Alkanet for coloring naturally, but wow that stuff stinks. I haven't used it cuz I'm worried it will leave a stink behind.
  17. Rose clay is one of the most mild of the clays. It is even recommended for dry skin. I've always blended it well with the oils, and other than tinting the lipbalm, and your lips, a mauve/pink, you don't feel it in there.
  18. That's really cute, I love the colors. Good job, glad you found one that works.
  19. Peaks has a good strawberry. I wonder if that would hold up. In candles, I've put some lime in it to make it strawberry marguarita. Actually, I may have to try that in soap too. Peaks is usually good about telling you if the scent you are interested in does well in CP.
  20. If you look at the link Carebear provided they describe it, somewhat. But I just did a search to see if I could come up with more info, and some people claim their patchouli's are "iron free". I'm not sure if the iron distilling process is better than the others. I do know that I have had the other types of distillation and they have been fine in any application I have used them in.
  21. I got the Indonesian kind before. After it aged for about a year it got very thick, dark and very strong. The EOU price was only $50. so that's not bad. I would like to try the iron distilled one to compare it.
  22. Now everyone does agree that it is between 4-6 wks for soap to be cured, right? I've been doing this for a while now, I'm not new, but I haven't had to work with time frames before. I have some soaps that are 4 wks old now that I could make finger impressions on if I squeezed them hard enough. I would have to squeeze very hard, but with older soaps you couldn't leave any impressions by squeezing them. Also, as a few of you have said, curing isn't only about hardness, but how well the lye and fats have combined. I'm curious what you all use as an indicator that your soap is fully cured? What type of test tells you they are ready to sell for certain? Top, I am going to try to go with lower linoleic acid numbers to see if this helps. Can you recommend a good range?
  23. I found this website selling patchouli eo for only $41.12 for a lb. Is patchouli coming back down everywhere or is this a really good deal? http://secure.soapmaking.com/products.php?cat=54 (down near the bottom of the page) They actually have two prices on here the other says $47.86. That is still about 40-60 dollars cheaper than I've seen other places selling it. Lucky me they are in San Diego
  24. Did you try emailing her with the email address on the first post? All of her stuff is incredible. She really is talented.
  25. Misty, what form does silk amino acid come in? Sadbarber, have you tried cornstarch? I'm not sure exactly what type of silky feel you are looking for, but it helps cut down greasy feel, gives it more of a glide.
