  1. I package my body creams (very thick) in 8 oz jars. I have no problem with people not reordering... I guess they really like my body cream. LOL I do my body frostings (body butters, foot butters, etc) in 2 oz jars. In my opinion, you don't need much of this, it's already an intense moisturizer. And my body frostings are alot more expensive to make than the body cream. I've had customers finish off my body creams in like 2-3 weeks, then they are calling for more! Me, I apply the body cream EVERYWHERE.... lol... and sometimes more than once a day, I have really dry, sensitive skin. My customers also prefer the 8oz. jar more than the 4oz.
  2. I did a scrub in just castor oil one time, it was great at first, then after a few days... it really had an off smell. Ugh. Never again.
  3. I love your swirls!! You did good Grandma!!! Woohoo!!! I'm still fightin' with my swirls. LOL
  4. That's an awesome color girl!!! I LOVE that!! What is it scented in?
  5. Yes, I would be upset. This has happened to me before, but I never received shipment or anything. They were quick to charge my credit card, but never received any of my supplies. After numerous emails I sent them, (which they never responded by the way)... I disputed the charge on my credit card, and I was reimbursed. Now this supplier has to fight it out with the credit card company. HA. So no... you're not overreacting. If I were you, I'd find another supplier. What supplies are you getting? I know of a great supplier in Texas... just received my first ever order from them recently, and I am very pleased. They do not have FO... only EO and lots of other supplies to make soap and B&B products. Very quick shipping, excellent customer service. Texas Natural Supply I also got a free pen with my order! How cool is that??!! LOL;)
  6. I usually order the Ultra Concentrate when I order from SOS. I've tried the SOS concentrate before, and I find it's way too light. I find I have to use more of that oil in a product. (B& I only stick with Manufactuer's Grade... Ultra Concentrate...
  7. Yeah, but it wasn't what I was TRYING to achieve. LOL It's almost like I can't get my swirls in the middle. And I'm doing the layer thing, pour a bit, add the swirl color... pour a bit... add the swirl color... I think my next batch will be swirled in the pot. Gonna try that next to see what comes of it. I'm thinking.... CUCUMBER & IVY.... oh my... let me get soapin'!!!!
  8. I know....lol... I'm already planning my 3rd batch. rotf lmao My family will have the cleanest butts in town. LOL:laugh2:
  9. Ok... 2nd batch... still can't get those swirls down pat... Grrrr..... one day I will though! LOL I'll keep trying! I used a different recipe, stuck with the basics on my first one. This one behaved nicely, but it seemed to take forever to trace! I thought I was going to burn out my SB. LOL Scented in Lemon Sugar from Solas
  10. I have this bar... and let me tell you..... O M G!!! It smells soooo fantastic!! I haven't used it yet... but boy... I'm countin' down the days on my calendar!! LOL It's almost time I think!! LOL I've tried a few of Maryann's soaps before, and they are divine!! I've loved every bar I purchased from her. But this bar.... oh my... it's my favorite scent of all time!! It reminds me of orange flower blossoms at bloom time. I swear... the smell brings back so many memories!! And it's a beautiful bar!
  11. I love the lavender one... but they all look awesome! I hope I get as good as this!!
  12. Oh that bar looks positively delish!! I bet it's gonna feel awesome! I bet it smells awesome too!!
  13. Ok... now I wanna use them RIGHT NOW...... rotf lmao.... It's gonna be HELL waiting.... lol
  14. Ok... here's some cut pics... I didn't have swirls throughout the whole log:cry2: maybe next time I might be successful.
  15. Thanks for all the compliments everyone!! Makes me feel so good! Yes, this is my very first batch of CP... I read... and read... and read... and read.... and researched... until my eyes crossed!! LOL I educated myself really well before even THINKING about making it. I'm so interested in what it's going to look like when I cut it... You were right Maryann...I wanted to cut that thing right away! LOL I will probably be making another batch again later on today. LOL I think I'm an addict... after getting my first taste of it. LOL Now my creative juices will start flowing!! LOL I'll be sure to post a pic of the end results...
  16. I jumped right in.... and I TOTALLY ENJOYED MYSELF! I finally made soap! I'm sooooo excited! When I poured the FO in... I was hand stirring... then... it started to make these little lumps.... I panicked. LOL So I took the SB... and mixed it a couple of min... the lumps SEEMED to go away... I attempted swirls... said I wasn't going to try my first time... but I lied to myself! LOL This is in the mold... scented in Purely Herbal...gonna post more pics after cutting....
  17. The smell really isn't all that bad Jadryga.... I guess some people just don't care for it. I put some on the other day... straight... out the container...and after you put it on... the smell goes away after a few minutes. AND... I noticed how my skin was alot softer... I loved the way it made my skin feel. The only unrefined shea that I've purchased that wasn't all that bad was from The Scent Works. This one I have now, the smoky smell IS kinda strong, but not turn your stomach, nasty strong. LOL If you decide to try unrefined shea, buy you a small amount first... and play around with it. You might like it!!
  18. I whipped it up two nights ago, and as I was whipping, the color got lighter, almost white, but not quite. I was able to dye it...lol... and scent it, but I had to use ALOT of FO. I actually used THREE different FO. First one didn't hide the scent. Added the second one... still had that hint of smoky smell. Added the third one, and it worked. LOL Maryann... the Whipped Shea Soufflee I gave you to test was unrefined shea. But that one was from The Scent Works, and it wasn't green...lol... it was a mustard yellow color, and the smoky smell was there, but not like this green one I have...lol... The Coco Mango FO seemed to hide the smell VERY well, so I think I will try whipping up some more green shea... and adding the Coco Mango scent to see if it helps the smell on this one....I hate the idea of using soooooo much FO... first of all, FO is expensive. Second, you never know who will react to the high percentage of FO.... so... I guess I'm getting out my mixer again... lol
  19. I've contacted the supplier, and this was her reply to me: "Thank you for requesting clarification on the shea. Shea nut butter is a slightly greenish or ivory-colored natural fat extracted from fruit of the Shea tree by crushing and boiling. Depending on the harvest it can vary greatly from season to season and year to year. We therefore have minimal control over what is available. The green is actually considered more desirable (said to contain greater nutrients). We do have some of the unrefined that is lighter and creamier in color. The Refined shea is very creamy and not rough in texture at all compared to the unrefined. It is lightly refined and no chemicals are used. (It has also had some of the nutrients filtered out, but is still an excellent choice)." So I guess maybe an option would be to educate my customers on natural unrefined shea eh? LOL
  20. I ordered some unrefined shea a while back, it came in... and it's GREEN!! OLIVE GREEN to be exact!! It's supposed to be natural, unrefined shea butter. I've seen a yellow, golden, mustardy shade of unrefined shea before... but never green!! LOL Does shea have different colors? Does it depend on the location where it comes from?
  21. Looks awesome!! I bet it smells awesome too!!
  22. I add the FO to Natrasorb, then I add it to my bath salts. I've never had a problem with wet bathsalts using this method.
