  1. I want one!!! Gimme... Gimme... Gimme!!!! Gosh... that looks frickin' awesome!!
  2. Awesome... it looks marbled. Nice!!! As always... you rock Maryann!
  3. Maybe, but IMO... M&P is VERY drying. You might be able to make something for the more oily complexions. But hey... experiment.... you might come up with an awesome recipe!!
  4. That's what I was gonna say too!! Go easy on the Peppermint... it'll be too overpowering. And some people have a sensitivity to peppermint EO. Don't use too much!
  5. My first laugh of the day!!! Too funny!
  6. Girl, believe me...lol... I've read and researched sooooo much... I'm DREAMING about it EVERYNIGHT!!! LOL Everynight... I dream about making a batch of CP.... rotf lmao.... I don't think these dreams will go away until I make a batch. LOL Gotta get it out my system!! I'm going loco!!
  7. Very nice!! Pretty soap!! I hope I'm this good when I start CP!! Good Job! I love it... and I can almost smell it too!!
  8. Mango Margarita? Desert in Bloom? Sandy Canyon? Cherokee Sunset? Santa Fe Trail? Cactus Salsa? Tropical Fruit Salsa? I keep coming up with Pinata... but don't know what to put with it... Papaya Pinata? LOL
  9. These oil soluble dyes are for body butters, bath butters, lip balms, anything that contains alot of oil..... I'm assuming I can just add the dyes to my oils. I'm not going to attempt swirls, cause this is my first time making CP. I want to do just the basics... I'll just try and see what comes out!! Thanks a bunch!
  10. I was wondering, can you use Oil Soluble liquid dyes to color CP? I have mica, but after researching on here, I read that some micas morph. I don't want to waste my micas on trying to color CP. Maybe dusting the soap with it.. yes... but to color the soap... no. So, it's either my oil soluble dyes, food coloring, or just plain natural soap.
  11. I know the Eucalyptus Spearmint smells good. Clean. I REALLY want to try the Cucumber & Ivy in CP soap... now this one would DEFINITELY smell awesome. I really don't care for the smell out of the bottle, but when I put it in body cream.... omgosh... it rocks!
  12. I searched and searched... but found nothing. Has anyone ever used Cajun Candle's skin safe FO's for CP soap? I wanna do my first batch of CP... but don't know how the FO will react in the soap. I went read up on the thread "FO that rock in CP soap"... but I only have TWO fragrances on the entire list!! LOL
  13. Is hydrogenated soy considered a hard or soft oil? I'm starting to think twice about the lard. Does adding lard usually make a good soap? Doesn't lard have an off smell? Or is that Tallow that has the off smell?
  14. I'm VERY new to CP soap, I haven't tried it yet, but I'm goin' for the gusto. I'm ready to take the plunge and just DO IT. First of all, I didn't realize how confusing these recipes and stuff could be. I played around... (going on four hours now) and came up with this recipe... please give me your thoughts on it... advice welcomed also!!! Palm Kernal 15% Coconut (frac.) 10% Lard 15% Cocoa Butter 5% Avocado 15% Olive 20% Castor 15% Hemp 5% Hardness 36 Cleansing 19 Condition 59 Bubbly 32 Creamy 31 Iodine 64 INS 141 A few questions: Lard.... I'm assuming CRISCO right? What does INS stand for? :embarasse What does iodine have to do with CP soap? Can you tell I'm a cp soap virgin? LOL I will be ordering my lye tomorrow... I have everything else on hand. I'm really excited. But why am I so nervous? LOL
  15. I don't think they are the same. You are right. I think the flakes is the wax. What I have looks like a butter. Oh... and to update on the texture... it's light and fluffy!! It looks like cake frosting. Hence the new name... BODY FROSTING. I slathered it on last night... woke up this morning... SOFT SOFT SOFT skin!!! I love this stuff. Making some more today!!!
  16. I grow my own calendula... it's way cheaper than buying the dried herb. You can find the seed basically anywhere... either under calendula or pot marigold. It's not like the regular marigold... those smell like skunk!! LOL But calendula is REALLY easy to grow. And very purdy!! LOL I usually buy the rest at Mountain Rose Herbs. I've tried growing St. John's Wort, but I would always end up killing it!! LOL The comfrey just really takes over everything... so decided not to grow that. The chickweed is actually a weed... they say you can find it in your own backyard... I've yet to find it in mine. So I just order it with the rest!!
  17. Majestic Mountain Sage.... good price I think!!! I think I might have bought it for CP soap... but I'm too damn chicken to try it!! LOL:embarasse
  18. Any kind of olive oil would do... I love making infused oils. I made a St. John's Wort infused oil one time... came out to a beautiful ruby red color. Awesome. I usually do calendula, St. john's wort, comfrey, and chickweed. Makes an awesome salve. I just let mine sit on the kitchen window sill..... 6-8 weeks... depending on how strong you would like it. Then I strain through a cheesecloth. (very messy!) I usually have to strain two to three times... especially if the herbs I use are cut really small. But the end product is worth the messiness!!
  19. I didn't know it came in flake form!! LOL No.. this one looks like a hard butter. Soybean fixed oil.
  20. You know when the bug hits you to try something exciting and new? LOL Ok... I've been playing around all day... trying to come up with something different. I have been having 10lbs of Hydrogenated Soy Fixed Oil hiding in one of my cabinets...can't remember why I bought the stuff... lol... so I decided to try to make a body butter with it. I'm assuming this is the same thing as Soy Butter you can buy at certain websites, I'm not sure. So this is what I did... I melted the Soy in the microwave until it was mushy. Then I melted some Cocoa Butter... added this to the Soy. It stayed liquid too long for me (I'm sooooo impatient) so I put the bowl in the freezer for about 10 minutes. Took it out... whipped it up. Looked nice. Put it back in the freezer for 10 more minutes. When I took it out... it was nice and firm. I whipped it again... added a little bit of SAO... added FO... and it looks like a thick body cream. Awesome. I have it sitting on the counter... I'm not going to put them in jars yet, cause last time I did this... I had to take everything out of the jars to whip again.. cause I didn't like the texture. Has anyone ever tried making a body butter with Hydrogenated Soy? I think it looks pretty damn good if I do say so myself!! And... it's not greasy!! Soaks in RIGHT AWAY. :whoohoo:
  21. Don't forget to add Arnica!! Arnica is da Bomb for relieving muscle pain!
  22. I experimented with my whipped shea the other day... I added an ounce of cyclo to it. Then I continued whipping it. It stayed the consistency of a whipped souffle and yes... it's greasy when you put it on at first, but within a few minutes... you're soft... not greasy. When I did it without the cyclo... it hardened up. And it just felt tooooooo thick putting it on. I think the cyclo helped with the texture and the feeling.
  23. That's a GORGEOUS basket!! Definitely looks really girly!! I love it!!
