  1. Well my soap is in the oven. I used Carries 7 oil recipe that is quickly becoming my favorite! Hopefully this will work well. I just really wish I had a see through mold so I could see what my swirl attempt looks like.
  2. You sure have been busy!! I think they all look great!
  3. I think they look good! Why wont you do it again? Do they feel that bad?
  4. Ok so I have been reading about cpop for the last 4 hours, instead of cleaning my house or doing laundry lol I am thinking of trying this today but I just want to make sure I havent missed anything I can use my wood log mold, line it, cp the regular way, cover with saran wrap. Put mold into preheated 170 degree oven. Cook for 2 hours turn oven off. Let soap sit in oven for at *least 2 hours. Then once it is completely cool, cut. Did I miss anything?
  5. The failure one? I have NO CLUE! It immediately went to a thick trace as soon as I poured the lye in. Than it became a crumbly mess. No clue!! Heres a pic of the green one that was in the mold. Tried the layered swirl but I guess I am going to have to pour even thinner to get what I am trying to achieve.
  6. Well after my HUGE disaster batch last week http://i118.photobucket.com/albums/o108/traceysdrunk/Picture037.jpg I was blessed my the soap Gods yesterday. Everything went so smoothly!! The first batch is still in the mold but here it is. Tried a layer swirl, scented with Millcreeks Kudzu, no problems! Then MC fresh fruit slices And here they are cut which I SUCK at cutting but it is my best swirling attempt yet! Oh and I used Carries 7 oil recipe I am really proud of this one. It is my best yet!!!! Thanks for all the swirling adivce!
  7. Very nice!!!! And those are some Lovely colored hooters!

  9. BEAUTIFUL!!!!!!! It looks great! NIce job!
  10. So yesterday I was attempting to make some soap. While my lye and oils were cooling I accidentally knocked the bowl with my oils over. So cleaned up that mess but I ran out of pko. So now I am on a soap hold until it gets here tomorrow. I still have my lye water. I dont want it sitting here because I ahve kids and am deathly afraid of it sitting here. Can I pour it down the drain? How can I dispose of it?
  11. I am with Donna, I hate you lol Your clouds are amazing!!!!!! I love ALL of your soaps. Great job!!!!!
  12. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Tracey, I've used Grapeseed oil in several batches without any problems. You wont be sorry after you try Carries 7 oil recipe .I will use today (has been curing for 4 weeks today). My husband has been using for 2 weeks already (couldnt wait), likes the patchouli scent and I must say his skin is softer than mine now, feels like silk. I've made several more batches using her recipe and I'm stickin with it. So happy to hear that! I had to readjust it a little just because I only do 2lb batches and her percentages didnt work well with my scale lol But I think I finally got it all figured out, now I just have to make sure the fairies are gone or I am going to stab them to death, twice lol
  13. I just placed my order with them for the week lol. I always get a shippingnotice within 24 hours. Maybe check your spam folder? I did notice that they raised shipping prices. I always pay no more than $14 shipping for 50lbs of wax and like 20 2oz scents and a few 8 oz. Today it was $21 shipping. It was a HUGE shock, I ahve been so used to the cheaper shipping for the past 4 years. =o( Oh well I still love them and buy from them exclusively for my candles
  14. Wow they all look great!!! I love the swirl in the Brut, and love the one with the honey m&p EXCELLENT JOB!
  15. I really wished I video taped this experience lol seriously it was a THICK soap glob with 2 swirls with the stick blender. Stick blender wasnt on I was just mixing. I will never know how this happened. I dont get it. Maybe the oils were too cool? TOnight when I get home from work I am going to do it again. However with Carries 7 oil recipe, no stearic, no grapeseed, not room temperature, with a safe fo. My ego can not handle another garbage soap
  16. From what I have been told that cheapo works as well as extra virgin. I buy the cheapest and have no complaints. As far as veg shortening, Crisco is what I have used
  17. hmmm smurf soap??? lol sounds like fun. I am sitting here debating if I should go wash my soap bowls and try again before or bed hmmmm its 1:14 am lmao DOnt know what I am thinking
  18. Maybe it was the stearic. Now I am so discouraged, I dont want this to happen again. SO depressing!
  19. Forget it I had a question but I used what is left of my brain and figured it out. I think I am gonna try this before bed hmm bedtime WAS an hour ago lol
  20. lol well good than I am safe tomorrow! I used Castor 3.2 Coconut 6.4 PKO 9.6 Shea 6.4 Grapeseed 6 Stearic .6 Lye 4.8 Water 12 No fragrance never had a chance Used full water. I am so sad, lined empty mold
  21. Well I guess I got vistied by the soap fairies. Did my usual recipe went over by lye (see Help thread below) adjusted recipe. Poured lye water into oils (room temperture) and it IMMEIDATELY started hardening. Swirled it with the stick blender, power off just mixing the oils before sb'ing and it went to immediate clumped soapI turned the sb on because I dont know what to do and soap on a stick. Still stick blended through it for about 1 minute and it was a very thick trace (if you could even call it that) tried to save it even though it wasnt worth it. poured green gel tones in which usually works just fine, the soap first wouldnt absorb hardly any of it. Then it turned orangeish brown with a bunch of orange liquid on the bottom of the bowl. WT hell happened? I bought some PKO from the classifieds and it looked different than what I am used to, a bit thicker flakes a lil darker in color. COuld this be the reason why?
  22. OK I am making soap, melted my oils and went to measure my lye. Unfortunately I forgot to buy more plastic cups so I decided to measure my lye inside my water. Did this a few times and it was fine. Of course this time I went over by.2 ounces. It was supposed to be 4.6oz but I poured 4.8. I went to the sage and added 1.5 ounce RBO and it than calls for 4.8 lye. Is this ok to do or do I need to check anything else? Recipe is Darwins 3.2 castor 6.4 coconut 9.6 PKO 6.4 shea 5.8 Grapeseed .6 Stearic 2lb batch 12 ounce water 4.6 lye added 1.5 oz rbo than water changes to 8-13 but 12 is ok right? and 4.8 lye
  23. I just asked for help on the soap section. Thank you so much!! I am going to try this again tonight. I guess mine was way to thick. And I let the uncolored part sit there until I was done coloring the other part. Maybe I waited too long. My problem is I can never tell exactly when its a thin trace so I have to go with at least medium trace. I love soap!
