  1. I'm divorced so only one income....I think it would be very hard to do this full-time and make enought to support myself. I work full-time to pay the bills, I do candles part-time to give me an extra income which enables me to do things I could never do on one income. When I retire in 4 yrs, then I can do this full-time! :-) Kudo's to all of you who are doing this full-time and making a living at it!! You are an incentive for the rest of us!! Karen
  2. I've been trying all morning to get into their website and it's down or gone or something!! :-( Is anyone else having trouble with it?? Does anyone have their 800 number to call??? Thanks!!
  3. Island Girl...thank you so much for the Safe Shop info. That's so smart, now why can't all CC's offer that!! Sorry this has happened to you before...what a PIA! Sure makes you re-think the whole credit card thing!!!
  4. I've made the decision that from now on all my online purchases are going to be paid for with a pre-paid Visa card. I can get one thru my bank and have it loaded as needed...or heck, I can get one at my local grocery store! It's going to be a pain but I would rather go thru that inconvenience than having to keep closing out CC's due to some low-life hacker who has nothing better to do than make hard working people's life miserable by stealing from them. There is a special place in hell for these people!!

  6. I agree...pick out a different name!! There was a girl years ago that had a really good candle business. She had been doing candles for years and one day she got a "cease and desist" letter in the mail. The business name she had used for years we too close to the name of a big company. She fought it but lost...cost her a lot of money to change everything over to a new name. I just found out last week that the business name I have used since 2002 has been trademarked in Canada within the last 4 yrs. My business is small and the chances this company ever hear's of me is slim...but I went ahead and picked out a new name, re-did my logo, and have started re-doing all my brochures, labels, order forms, etc.!! My point is...easier to change now than down the road!!
  7. The charge on my card that I knew I didn't make was MassiveGood CA. I checked them out and they have a website plus a page on Facebook. Here's an explanation of who/what they are.... MASSIVEGOOD allows travelers to make a micro-contribution ($2,£2,€2) towards major global health causes every time they buy a plane ticket, reserve a hotel or rent a .... Hopefully by my bank cancelling the card this morning that will be the end of it...but when she said SHOULD stop further transactions..that did not exactly re-assure me!!!
  8. My VISA has a $1 hold on it for a company out of California, placed at 330am this morning. Called the bank immediately and they have flagged the card as stolen so whoever is using my number SHOULDN'T be able to get anymore than the $1. Am so thankful that I checked my card this morning!! Just hoping the bank doesn't screw up and let them take more!! Now to wait 7-10 days for a new card! BTW...this is my personal card, not a business card...I use it for everything so hard to pinpoint where the breach might have come from. But I have ordered from 3 suppliers this week. :-(
  9. I have been testing quite a few of their oils and the ones I have tested have performed extremely well in 415. I have switched to their Sugar Cookie as well as their Hot Apple Pie and Banana Nut Muffin. Have added...Apple Mango Tango, Cinnamon Bread, Blueberry Bread, Prairie Kitchen, Pink Sugar, Vanilla & Oak to my line and will be adding more of their scents as I test. Have not been disappointed in a scent yet. Great customers service too!!
  10. Pomegranate and Pear...I love these two together!
  11. The last 2 weeks I have been testing Pumpkin Spice Latte and Caramel Cinnamon Latte in GB415 and they both have killer throws. Will be testing Pecan Cheesecake Brulee, Christmas Wreath, Becky's Ultimate Vanilla, Cinnamon Roll w/Frosting over the next 2 weeks. JS oils have been very hit or miss in GB415 for me but when I find one that works it always ends up as one of my top sellers. The Orange Chiffon is the best OC I have ever poured...and in the past 7 yrs I have used them all at one time or another. Karen
  12. I've used Visa Print for 5 yrs and have never had a problem. I get my business cards, brochures, advertisting post cards, open house invitations and even have ordered for other people and have never had a problem. Knock on wood! LOL Hopefully it all works out for you. Karen
  13. I just tested the Summer Garden in GB415(pure soy) and had the same results as you! WOW!! My new favorite scent. Karen
  14. Banana Nut Bread (ICS/Snowtop) Toasted MArshmellow (KY) Amish Harvest (TCS) Cranberry Marmalade (CS) Wildberry Mousse (CS)
  15. The only thing I did was get a vendors license. $25 thru your county office. Karen
  16. I haven't ordered from them in a couple of years but they had fantastic customer service. I used their soy FO's and they were excellent quality. Karen
  17. Definitely downsizing. Not adding any new scents and will be only offering one jar this year. Also, going to concentrate more on fund-raisers and less on retail. Karen
  18. Maple Pecan Streusal from WSP is excellent in GB415. I haven't tested KY's, I think it's called Caramel Pecan Pie, but I have heard it's great in GB415 also. Karen
  19. I've tested the one from Flickers and loved the scent but found it lighter than I prefer in GB415. Karen
  20. Right now I still have plenty of supplies bought at the old prices to possibly get me thru spring. But as soon as I have to re-stock supplies my prices will be going up $1 on my 9oz jars and 50 cents on my tart packs. At my customer appreciation day in December I warned my customers it was coming. They were all actually surprised I hadn't raised my prices sooner since I haven't raised my prices in several years. Karen
  21. This past September I changed my label design to include the scent...had used 2 labels for the last year and before that hang tags. The only reason I changed was to make it easier for customers to find a scent on store shelves. For fund-raisers I am going to continue using separate labels for just the reason you mentioned. My thinking is the same as yours...I can have my labels pre-made and not worry about how many of each scent. The scent labels are easy-peasy to print off later after determing how many of each scent you really need. JMO! Karen
  22. My GB415 hasn't gone up yet but I know it's a matter of time. The shipping has gone up from $13 - $21 a case in 2 yrs, but by changing soy suppliers I have been able to save money on my wax which really helped. The jars I have been using have increased. My last order (Oct) was at 56 cents each, the order I am working on now is 65 cents each. Just thankful I can pick them up. I haven't raised my prices in 5 yrs but will have an increase this year for sure. Going to try to hold off till September but depending on what the soy does it might be as soon as March. Karen
  23. Sinus Relief from Flickers....and it's working, I can finally breath after 3 days. Karen
  24. Spicy Apples & Peaches - TCS Cranberry Orange Spice - ICS/Snowtop Karen
