  1. Hi,,you can not use Pillar wax for containers as it is too hard,,Have you called back your supplier???
  2. So glad you asked that question,,I have some from Nu-Scent and I am just now trying it. I have the pillar/votive blend,,This stuff is cool but you really have to babysit it,,I have 6 votives going now,,,,Does it matter how many holes??? TIA
  3. I too have to add my 2 cents in here,,,,I have been smelling a burnt smell too and thought it was my wax, but when I changed back to zinc wicks it stopped and the throw was better. Also these mushroomed worse then my Zincs ever did,,,I personally do not care for these wicks,,+ I used the 798 in the 464 and it still hung up a wee bit,,,If I have to wick with 2 wicks I will stay with my zinc or keep with the HTP 1312,,, Edited to add: I didnt have to much problems with sooting,,just the mushrooming
  4. Oh yes it is strong,,I made a 3x6.5 Pillar and it was Strong @ 1oz,,you may want to try 1/2 oz as it is a heavy FO if put into paraffin,,,
  5. OH YEAH!! it is a perfect Dupe of the real thing,,I made my BIL one for Christmas as a GAG gift,,, He loved it and it reminded him of his good ole days,,LMBO
  6. THANK YOU!!! I was a tad worried there for a minute!!!,,,Okay Im opening the box NOW!!! LOL,,Thanks Jason!!!
  7. GREAT!! I just bought a 50LB box of 464 and now i am kinda scared to open it!!! LMBO!!!
  8. Okay here is my report on the 474 and I have pics,,,I heated my wax to 170, added Orange Blossom FO by Snowtop, added half a orange dye chip. Poured @ 150, set box over to let cool slow,,, I also used wick pins and I sprayed molds with Canola and wiped out excess. I had no problems with getting them out of the mold or the wick pins. I got 1 that came out okay but has a lot of frosting,,,I have one with Cracking with a pit, I have another with pinholes and cracking,,hope my pics show all this. The Cold throw is awesome and I am going to go ahead and burn them. I like this wax well enough BUT it wont take me away from my 4625 as yet. ,,,I will wait for the Pillar wax GB hopefully will be getting out for testing soon,,,Thanks
  9. I have always been told to Embrace your wetspots because you WILL get them. If you go to a store and look at even the highest priced candles, they get wetspots too,,HTH;)
  10. I think I am going to try one of those easy wick setters,,I have the pillar Pins and the centering tool but still eyeing my Jar for my wick,,Need to change that,,LOL,,,THANKS!!
  11. Lauren,,I believe J223 is a Astrolite product, here is a link http://www.astorwax.com/html/astorlite/astProd/fullProducts.htm HTH
  12. Hi Kat,,,You wont get jump lines unless you pour your re-pour all the way up,,,you stop just before it gets to the top of the last pour if this makes sense, then level it after you un-mold it,,,remember the bottom is the top....HTH
  13. do the Square's same as you do your Rounds, I think you have a Blend the way it sounds. I do my Squares the same as my Rounds. I do not like pouring hot either because I do get the bubbles so I pour at 175. Let us know how that works. Also Top is a person to read his posts,,he knows his Chandling!!!! I have learned a great deal from him!!!! I down to EXCELLENCE!!!!!
  14. Hi All,,,Kevin (wv_candleguy) reminded me to test the 474 but I have been so busy,,,Jason, I promise to get these started today with pics when I post. about 24 hours.....
  15. I can so relate to this,,,LOL,,I had been reading and collecting info for about a year. Then I started to perfect AND learn hands on through this forum of information. Test Test Test,,,,LOL Serious though Top is right :-),,,,Get the kit,,Peaks is the best for the money when you add it all up seperately. Their FO's are wonderful,,the 4630 Harmony Blend is a good wax,,,, I started with Peaks Pillar Kit and the 4625. I love this wax too,,,
  16. Thank you,,,Im still working on it but its always a work in progress,,,
  17. When they first came out with free samples I got 10LBs of the J225 and if the price was lower would be carrying it now,,I loved it,,,When I look at the 2 I like them well enough the same,,,YES it adheres to the glass well and burns great BUT so does the J223. So between the 2 I would stay with J223. JMHO,,,
  18. I make Pillars also using 4625 and I dont add anything and I pour @ 175 for a shiney pillar. it releases on its own very well and I DO heat my mold just a little with my heat gun. and I also wrap a towel around my pillar to cool SLOWLY,,,, Edited to add: Didnt know it was a chunk candle,,,had to re-read,,and Top is right,,,the wax was to hot and the FO wax bubbling,,I have done that a lot,,,I re-melt mine if they get this,,,and pour @ 175,,,,
  19. OOOO I like the "Viennese Cafe"!!! Thats a great name for that FO,,,,I dont know why but when I said Strudel I thought Vienna!!!! Great minds think a like!!!! Austrian is not bad either!!
