  1. I had a local competitor send her 7 year old grand daughter to my booth. She sprayed some of my freshener, and got about three pumps of lotion and took off. I just laughed. So, they have to steal lotion?
  2. My fear with banning a customer is what sort of image you are creating for yourself. That customer could be one of the determined type of people and raise heck everywhere she can. What do you do then to secure your reputation? Do you tell everyone why you banned this woman and risk them feeling odd about ordering from you? There are a lot of things you have to consider when it comes to an issue such as this.
  3. You know I used to get those little "Out of Stock" slips all the time and I don't recall ever getting my FOs. I always got busy and forgot about them! Oh well, little to late to bring it up now. ETA, email inquiries seemed pointless to me as well. I always had to call.
  4. I do something similar to this. I have baker style racks for craft shows and I just stretch the bungee cord between two of the bars.
  5. Actually, from experience, customers choose to register so they can keep up with prior purchases. It also allows customers to check out more quickly. Further benefits include options such as frequent customer discounts. (BTW, I make registration optional.) I don't think Mals currently offers this option. I would contact them and make the suggestion. Who knows, it might be something they've looked into.
  6. "Stand Alone" just means that it functions just by adding the code onto your site where as "Systems" are your site.
  7. IMO, Mals is the best free "stand alone" shopping cart. It handles multiple payment methods and shipping methods. There is also PayPal's cart but I just don't care for it. You are obligated to using their payment methods and its a pain to use, imo. There are also lots of shopping cart "systems" out there that are free. You have Zen Cart, Cube Cart, osCommerce, and TONS of others. They will be a little more difficult to design for, however.
  8. Never mind, couldn't get it to work.
  9. If you'll email the file to agrace@gracefulhosting.com I will extract it and email it back to you unzipped.
  10. Hiya! There are several ways to password protect a page. The easiest way is going to be acheived by placing your wholesale pages in their own folder and password protecting the entire folder. If your webhost uses cPanel you can use the option "Password Protect Directories" under the security heading. It will walk you through protecting the folder step by step. If your webhost does not offer cPanel then I suggest visiting http://www.addedbytes.com/apache/password-protect-a-directory-with-htaccess/ . They tell you how to do it manually. If you do not want to have a seperate folder for the wholesale pages there are other options but they involve coding. Please let me know if you need help. Adam
  11. I would advise you to sign up with a DIY hosting company. It may cost you a little more over regular hosting plans but most everyone will agree that the extra cost is worth it. Simply using Mals is going to require you to code your own pages unless you have software to do it.....not really a problem but definitely hard to manage. Here is a brief list of place to check out: Designer218.com PapaShops.com MerchantMoms.com ShoppePro.com EcoChicHosting.com
  12. I use Scrapbook Factory and I love it. Every once in a while I will have issues getting them to line up but I think that is user error. I actually have PrintShop20 and I have never even installed it...go figure. Here is a post where I have pictures of the labels I designed using ScrapbookFactory. http://craftserver.com/forums/showthread.php?t=73699 Scrapbook Factory is one of those super easy to use programs that has the features you need. If you are looking for something that has more power but is still pocketbook friendly, check out Serif.com . I have been using their DrawPlus program for years now and I don't know what I would do without it. I actually just purchased five copies for my annual staff and we are using the software to produce all of the pages for our annual. Here are some of the pages I and the editors have done so far: http://www.wpconlinedesign2.com/2009/edit/UserFiles/5500/115811/SavedPages/Hi-ResPDF/Hi10032891.pdf http://www.wpconlinedesign2.com/2009/edit/UserFiles/5500/115811/SavedPages/Hi-ResPDF/Hi10032877.pdf http://www.wpconlinedesign2.com/2009/edit/UserFiles/5500/115811/SavedPages/Hi-ResPDF/Hi10032842.pdf http://www.wpconlinedesign2.com/2009/edit/UserFiles/5500/115811/SavedPages/Hi-ResPDF/Hi10032841.pdf http://www.wpconlinedesign2.com/2009/edit/UserFiles/5500/115811/SavedPages/Hi-ResPDF/Hi10032830.pdf http://www.wpconlinedesign2.com/2009/edit/UserFiles/5500/115811/SavedPages/Hi-ResPDF/Hi10032821.pdf
  13. Avery Name Badge Labels (5395) are about that size. Not sure what you are using them for but they are the perfect size for clamshells. I get mine from our local Walmart.
  14. I use the linen base from Gelluminations.com . I find that it works great. FO incorporates very well even at high percentages (don't ask me how I know, lol....still using that mistake...)
  15. Hi, I'm not here to defend myself, I am here to defend the "middleman hosts" in the world. First off, reasearch should be done on the requirements and the costs of running your own server. If all of these "middleman hosts" owned their own server, do your realize how much we would need to charge just to overcome the huge overhead we would have? Second, do you realize how many "middleman hosts" there are in the world? HostGator, for example, runs a HUGE operation and hosts thousands of customers. Guess what, HostGator is a "middleman host." HostGator probably doesn't own one server. All of the server space/hosting that they sell is leased through ThePlanet. Suprising, eh. Even further, your pal VodaHost.....they don't own and manage their own servers either. They appear to be leasing space with SoftLayer Technologies. Before complaining about the number of people who are "middleman hosts," maybe you should consider what would happen if those "middleman hosts" did not exist. You would be forced to pay ridiculous prices or you would have to buy your own server.......
  16. If you plan on having hosting with someone, email addresses are typically included at no charge. Some services, however, will require you to have email with someone else. If you plan on hosting with Designer218, diyEstores, PennyLayne, GracefulHosting, Pappa Shoppes, MerchantMoms, or most any DIY service you will probably receive email address with your hosting.
  17. I agree, GoDaddy is the way to go. Their site is very busy and it has way too many ads but their prices are good and their DNS system updates quicker than most any other registrar. Before buying, go to ask.com and seach for GoDaddy Coupons. You can normally save yourself a few dollars.
  18. My tins will occasionally frost on the top as well, just depends on the fragrance and what color I am pouring.
  19. Here is the description for Kojiki. This complex woodsy green scent is named for the ancient history of Japan's account of the creation of the earth. This floral holds subtle hints of spearmint and grapefruit rounded out by a touch of plum vanilla sugar. The supplier who sold this fragrance went out of business. Unfortunatly, no one picked up their oils...
  20. I have ordered twice. The first time I ordered, I only bought one flexible M&P mold to see how the quality was. It took me almost a month to get the one mold. She was hard to get in touch with (via phone or email.) When I finally did get in touch with her she gave me some story about it being USPS's fault that it was taking so long. My package finally got here and it was post marked just a few days before it arrived. I ventured to order once more to get a few more molds but they arrived in a reasonable amount of time. My biggest complaint is her website. There is too much going on with the home page....everything is listed in a million different categories....its almost as bad as BitterCreeks site.......
  21. Honestly, I have never ordered from ICS but just from your experience I will never even give her a chance. Whether or not she sealed the box is besides the point to me. She probably made enough profit off of the two bottles of oil that she could have sent you the other bottle of oil AGAIN and she still would have broken even. You would have been a happy customer and she would not have to deal with this post or the loss of business your experience could cause her.
  22. Maybe I have been in the dark the entire time I have a been a memeber of this forum but I have never once seen a post about a supplier be removed unless it got out of hand. Peak may own this board but that is where it ends. People are allowed to talk the good and the bad about ANY suppliers (in my experience) so from what I can tell this board is not "biased". Just because the board is supplier owned and suppliers are allowed to post doesn't mean its "biased"
  23. Hi everyone and thanks for the positive comments! Adam
  24. Well, the new owners have nothing to do with clients that signed up with Frank so you will need to contact him. As far as squirrelmail, not sure what the problem could be. Have your tried using horde or roundcube. Those are the only two I will use. I hate squirrel mail.
