  1. CONGRATULATIONS RACHEL, I HOPE MORE COME YOUR WAY!!!:highfive:
  2. Hey GG, When you get ready to sell those or if you need a tester, let me know I'll be more than happy to try that beautiful bar. Yeah, it may look like your acid trip, but this bar has a brighter appearance, it looks good girl!!!
  3. Wow Karen, I may have to get some of those off your hand, I hope they are not gone!!! :D
  4. Very nice site CandyKane, I just love your pillars!!! The wedding pillars that sparkle are so cool looking!!!
  5. Well when starting out, I personally tried every starter kit from Peaks!! I tried the Pillar, votive, and container kits from them and I must say they gave you plenty of supplies to work with. The only thing that they didn't give you was a scale. Other than that they provided you with a great start to begin with, plus their kits are less than a 100 bucks. I believe they run for about 49 bucks.
  6. Bumping up!! They look like they would be nice, I just wonder how easy would they be to come out? I guess they would be okay if the mold is coated with some Pam spray or other type of self releasing spray, before the wax is poured in, similiar to what I would do with a metal votive mold. Or use a self releasing type of wax for votives.
  7. Has anyone tried these clamshells for votives before? http://www.alabastercandlesupply.com/proddetail.php?prod=VCLAM
  8. GOOD LUCK ANGIE!!!:yay:I HOPE EVERYTHING GOES WELL FOR YOU!!
  9. Peaks Warm Apple Pie is a hit with alot of my customers, it's one of my personal favorites as well.
  10. Fall I must say, is my favorite time of year. The leaves start to change and the weather gets a little cooler. Although it's still hot as h*ll here in Georgia, just the thought of every candle supplier filling up my email with new fragrances for the fall gets me in the mood!!! I just received an email from Just Scent mentioning their new fall fragrances, and just because of the names of some of them I have to try them, only because they are similiar to my business name..they are Warm and Cozy and Cozy Kitchen!! A couple of other fragrances I would like to try from them are Snow Angels, Cranberry Orange Spice and Apple Cider. So my question to you is this: What other new fragrances will you try this fall or will it be the same as usual??
  11. I just bought some from Candle Science, they work great with their votives as well, but you can buy them separately. They are located at www.candlescience.com .
  12. If you've never tried Go Planet Earth, they have excellent customer service, plus they give you plenty of freebies as well with your order !! They are located in MI so I don't know how shipping will affect you but I think they're worth it. Matter of fact they started doing flat rate shipping so you might be okay depending where you live. I live in GA and I order from them alot!! My favorite molds are the Mold Market Collection, they are made out of plastic yet they are very sturdy. You can find Go Planet Earth at www.goplanetearth.com Good Luck with your search!!
  13. Thanks for the info...I'll make sure to save those links!!
  14. For a great apple pie fo try Peaks Warm Apple Pie. I've had good luck with it in the past and it smells just like the real thing, it makes me want to get a scoop of vanilla ice cream to put on the side!!
  15. I just got a sample of this fragrance from CS over the weekend, it smells pretty good oob. I am going to make some votives in the next couple of days and test them to see how they smell. I hope I don't get the burnt smell that I've been seeing in alot of reviews from others on this board. :undecided Hopefully in Ecosoya PB I won't get the burnt smell...wish me luck!!
  16. Do you sell your logs as is, by the log, or do you cut up smaller bars of soap from that log and sell them? BTW, I love the pics and like you said the river fits perfectly with your products. I received a package from you via my secret buddy, and I still have my cranberry pillars, I refuse to burn it!!!
  17. I really like your new labels very clean and modern...great job!!!:highfive:
  18. I work for a major health insurance small business department and I work with SIC codes basically all day when quoting a business for health insurance. There are 2 SIC codes that can be used depending on how you classify yourself. SIC code 5999 which is Miscellaneous Retail Store with Candle Shops-Retail as a category. The other SIC code is 3999 which is mainly used just for manufacturing candles.
  19. Hi Shy!! Welcome to the wonderful world of candlemaking, it seems like you have everything you need to get started except maybe a candlemaking book or two to add towards your list as well. There are several out there but one that sticks out in my mind is, The Candlemaker's Companion, try checking it out at the library. Where to start.... That all depends on you... I started with votives as you don't need alot of wax to make a couple, and they are easier to test. Once I got the hang of making votives, I went onto Pillars (they're only bigger votives, right??), containers to me is a little harder as each container is different which may require different wicks due to different burns, bit once you get the formula that works there's no stopping ya!! Whatever you decide make sure to conquer one thing before moving to something else and take plenty of notes...lord knows what I would do if I didn't have my notes!!! Don't forget to post pics of you work as well!!!
  20. I think the name GalaxyScents is a cool name, and the name of the scents fit perfectly with the name of your business, very creative!!!:highfive:
  21. I really like those blocks and I'm sure your client will like them as well...keep up the good work!!!:highfive:
  22. I so wish I was having a girl, so I could pay you to do some cute little things for her, although a rockstar onesie would be nice for a little boy.
  23. I personally use both liquids and dye chips. I buy most of my chips or liquid color from Peaks. With dye chips my colors are very consistent in each batch of candles I make, with liquid dye you may have to test the hue each time you make a batch if you want to stay consistent. If you don't mind your batches being different shades then what I just said doesn't really matter.
  24. I totally agree with Breanna, I just purchased the pillar kit for my mom, and it has everything she needs to get started. I love Peaks starter kits, I purchased a couple for myself when I first started making candles and IMO I think they are the best, you can't go wrong with them!!!
