I use the starburst and don't have either of the issues you two mentioned. My tarts fall right out of the molds and I've not encountered but a very few that have had air pockets. My haphazard way of doing the palm tarts must be the key because I prefer it over any other wax for tarts. I just heat my wax to 200, add fragrance and color, stir like mad and pour. I don't measure my pouring temps for tarts with the starburst because it just works for me. I don't know what to tell you other than there is at least one of us boardies that uses the starburst and loves it.
