  1. Has anyone tried the bases from Kelsei's? I really like the ingredients list and was going to order a few pounds to try it out but they have a minimum order of $25 and I don't want to spend that much if the bases suck.
  2. Have you had a chance to melt any of it yet to see if it clears up? I have a sample of the clear and white on the way and was hoping to be able to find a better clear but that doesn't look too promising.
  3. It says this on the product page for the clear...
  4. I get my tins from Paper Mart and have absolutely no complaints. They are the cheapest I've found WITH shipping. The only difference between their tins and some of the ones that other suppliers sell is that the Paper Mart ones don't have the feet or the indentation for the wick tab.
  5. I have a question for the oatmeal pros. Do you add your oatmeal at a certain temp? I'm getting ready to experiment with my first batch using oats and I don't want to end up with a slimey bar of soap.
  6. Anyone know of a wick that would give similar results to a CD8? I have just about every type/size of wick but the smallest CD I have is the 10 and I need to go down a size. I have some 8's on the way but it can't hurt to try another type of wick in the interim. Thanks!
  7. Welcome! I haven't been brave enough to dive into "real" soap making yet but there is some amazing talent here in these forums.
  8. I put my liners into a cupcake pan and that seems to have kept the creases intact. And believe me, these suckers are packed TIGHT. I used a 2.5" wooden dowel to pack them down.
  9. I definitely need to work on the frosting since I apparently got it too thin and it wilted on me. I also have a question for those of you that make these....do you put the frosting on immediately after packing the bath bomb mixture or do you wait for the bath bomb to harden first? The reason I ask is because I removed one of the icing tops 24 hours after I had made them and the top of the bath bomb was quite wet. With my normal bath bombs they are completely hardened within 24 hours.
  10. Here's the mold I made. I used screws instead of nails and also made it so that I can use the mold as a soap cutter which is why you see those slits on the left end. I just remove the end piece and slide my loaf to slice.
  11. I tried one of these over the weekend and while it worked I have some kinks to work out. I used soy pillar wax for the hearts and apparently the melt point is too low because they bled into the overpour. I have some 6028 stashed away so I'm going to pull that out and try again. I found the cookie cutters at Michael's and some 10 oz cubes at Dollar Tree so I didn't have to pay shipping or I wouldn't have even attempted these this late in the game for valentine's.
  12. Thank you so much for the videos. I watched them and made my shopping list Saturday. I am proud to say that I made my very own log mold!
  13. Grumpy recommended the clear from The Chemistry Store. I've seen her fish slice soaps and it sure looks clear to me so I ordered 25 lbs to try. Should be here Wednesday and if you haven't ordered anything by then I'll let you know how it compares to the SFIC Crystal Clear.
  14. This is one that CS hit right on the nose with the leaf rating. If their ratings went higher than 3 leaves this one would definitely get more. I've burned a single votive using Ecosoya PB and 6% MM and it stunk up the whole upstairs. Did I mention that MM is one of my "gag me" scents? It's just one of those that I can't stand the smell of. If it wasn't such a great seller I think I'd dump the entire bottle down the drain. LOL
  15. Am I just overlooking it or does EBC not have the ingredients listed for the m&p bases?
  16. I've got some of the SFIC Crystal Clear and it too is yellowish and cloudy.
  17. Push the button, you won't be sorry you did. I also use Bert's AR and it's one of my top sellers. Her Cucumber Melon is another one that I absolutely love.
  18. Haven't tried the neon .... but with my POP colors I add them before I melt my M&P now. When I tried adding after I had melted I always ended up with some residual specks that would sink to the bottom/top.
  19. Anyone know which supplier carries the best banana FO? I've searched a few of my normal suppliers and am not finding much in the way of a plain banana fragrance so any help is appreciated.
  20. Not sure if it's a seasonal item or not but I used to buy them at Dollar Tree.
  21. It's not a co-op, it's a pre-buy. The notice was sent by SS in a newsletter and is also posted on her website as well as the weekly sales post here on CT. http://www.craftserver.com/forums/showthread.php?t=78974&highlight=sfic
  22. Welcome to the insanity! I guess I'm one of the lucky ones because DH built me a work room in our basement with cabinets and counters and the ONLY thing in that room is all business related. I will say that when I get busy working on orders or restocking inventory that things never end up where they once were so I end up having to search things down ALL the time. Of course whatever it is I'm searching for is always where I left it last. LOL
