  1. Not sure about that, but this FO is awesome in 4794 wax. :smiley2:
  2. After reading this thread I had to try a couple of these mixes~ well, I had to improvise :undecided . I did a Ms. Randy's Vanilla Bean (WF) and Jasmine (Peak) blend and a Cranberry Fig (Flickers) and Eggnog (BCN). They both smell awesome. Can't wait to see how they burn! Thanks for the ideas :smiley2:
  3. You can't go wrong with any of Candlescience's FO's. They are all awesome! The only one of their clean type scents that I tried is Rain Water. I loved it. I'm sure you wouldn't be disappointed with any that you get. Just order samples and see what works. I poured Pearberry yesterday and was quite impressed. Happy sniffing!!
  4. When I started with that wax a short time ago, I started with zinc, then HTP wicks and wasn't happy with the burn at all. Then I got some of the ECO wicks, like Candlescience recommended as their first choice. I did some last week in my 5 oz jars using an ECO2, and they burned great. For the 9 oz jar, they recommend the ECO8, so I will be trying that soon. But I have RRD's yet to test as well. You are just going to have to start playing and see what works. On the jars I used HTP & Zinc wicks with, I just burn them all the way down, helping them along the way (by using my handy-dandy butter knife to gently push the wax down). Then I re-use the jars as testers. I don't really sell, but if I did, I wouldn't sell one of those. I've read that the stability of the jar can be compromised after many burns, so that worries me. Anyway, hope this helps some. By the way, I started with a votive kit a year ago, then branched out to try jars. I found votives to be relatively easy to make. Got my kit from Cajun. I still make more votives than anything. Valerie
  5. I started with a votive kit from Cajun and was very happy. Their site is also very informative with lots of tips for candlemaking. They have some really good FO's, too. All are super strong. Have fun! Valerie
  6. Sultry Angel from Candle Cocoon and Vanilla Bean Noel from Wendy (TCS)~ both are awesome for bath & body.
  7. From them I have L'Occitane Honey & Propolis (wow!), Christmas Mulberry, Pink Sugar, L'Occitane Lavender Amber, Strawberry Daquiri and Mediterranean Archipelago~ all are superior oils. IMO
  8. Cherry Clove Chutney, Apple Butter, Pumpkin Vanilla, Sugared Spruce, Cinnamon & Sandalwood, and Grandma's Zucchini Bread are all awesome in 4794 votives. Gotta get big bottles of them all!
  9. I just had a request for Fig Basil and have been off looking for a straight Basil to mix my own. BCN has it in their closeouts, so does Lonestar, and I think a couple of other places. I am going to order it from BCN. They also have a fabulous Raspberry. Maybe you could mix those two.
  10. Green Tea is a wonderful fragrance. Got a big bottle off of the classifieds and am now totally in love with it! :smiley2:
  11. I must be in serious trouble then. Don't EVEN ask how many I have.
  12. I second the Cranberry Fig from Flickers. It is wonderful! Also, FOH's Mediterranean Fig is really great.
  13. I don't use soy, but got a soy tart from a friend in Winter Hug. OMG!!!! You must get this one. I bought a big bottle of that yummy stuff after trying it! :smiley2:
  14. Today it's Butterscotch Brownies from TCS, only 'cause I just poured it today and absolutely love it! :smiley2:
  15. My soap looks like it is loaded with Cream of Wheat? Is that what ricing looks like? It still smells good, just looks weird. Will this soap still work, or do I need to pitch the whole thing? Guess Sultry Angel doesn't like to be soaped. What a drag! It is such a beautiful fragrance.
  16. I waited until both the lye water and oils were cooled completely, then just used a whisk to stir, NO stick blender. It didn't take long to get to trace, but I didn't get soap on a whisk. lol That's the good news. I swirled with purple, put it to bed, and peeked a while later. It is looking brownish yellow actually. The purple seems to have morphed brown, too. Something looks funny about it, but we'll see what the morning will bring. I am not even sure it still smells like Sultry Angel. What a bummer if this is a wasted batch. It would be my first ever in 9 months of soaping. :undecided
  17. Great! :undecided Wish I would have checked this thread again before I started getting my stuff ready. I have my oils and my lye water cooling to room temp and will be mixing it later today. I was going to do a purple swirl. And this is a 4 lb batch I am doing for a swap. I am worried.
  18. Candlescience's Cranberry Marmalade, Mistletoe or Hansel & Gretel's House.
  19. Thanks Eugenia! I always let my oils and lye water get to room temp before I mix them, but thanks for suggesting the whisk. I will definitely try that. :smiley2:
  20. Anyone soaped this? Does it accelerate trace? TIA for any responses. Valerie
  21. Daystar's Banana Spice Bread is awesome in 4794 wax.
  22. Thanks Candlebuddy! I have been burning a couple of votives in CS's version and LOVE it, but I do tend to like 'em spicey. Guess I'll try my TCS sample and compare for myself. Next I'll need to order a big bottle! lol
  23. Which one is better? Or are they comparable? TIA :smiley2:
