  1. I followed Candlescience's recommendations for wicks and am having a tough time. I have tried HTP's and Eco's in 9 oz jars and it's not burning all the way to the side of the jar. Just made one today with a zinc core wick. Will have to try CD's & LX's next. Thanks for the info! I want to be impressed too! :undecided
  2. FOH's Pineapple Ginger is awesome in 4794! :smiley2:
  3. Hey, I got my digital at Target about 6 months ago for $16 and didn't get any extra battery.
  4. Just poured Raspberry Patchouli from BCS the other day. Wow! Awesome scent!
  5. Solas does have it and it is an interesting scent.
  6. Rats! Just got an order from them the other day. I already used my sample of the Apple Maple. I'll have to find another apple to mix it with. Thanks for the idea. It sounds great! :smiley2:
  7. Waaaaaaa! I hope my FO gets here today. I am so anxious to test these oils.
  8. I made the Pumpkin Crunch Cake for our Christmas dessert last year and it was delicious! :smiley2:
  9. Vanilla Plum, Kojiki, and Candy Corn (smells more like a yummy cake to me).
  10. FOH's White Chocolate Karibu and Peak's German Chocolate Cake
  11. Thanks to the Pumpkin Custard Spice thread, I ordered a bunch of these FO's last week and can't wait to get them. Tomorrow just may be my lucky day.
  12. I think Nature's Garden has a Fortune Cookie FO. I got a wooden rose scented in it with my last order. (can't wait to try it, Deb)
  13. Got some yesterday even though I've never tried it before. I've just heard it is fantastic!
  14. I also LOVE this fragrance. As a matter of fact, I'm getting ready to order a BIG bottle of it!
  15. I have VBN, WCA and AMT. They are all wonderful FO's. Can't wait to try the others!
  16. Thanks to you all, I am placing my first order with Bert. This is what I am going to start off with: 4 ozers: Pumpkin Custard Spice Lemon Biscotti Pie Redwood & Cedar Almond Old Fashioned Sugar Cookie 1 ozers: Vanilla Latte Oatmeal Cinnamon Crunch Bar Cinnamon, Nutmeg & Clove Fall Festival Holiday Spice Fig & Melon Creme Brulee You guys were right. She is super sweet to deal with. Can't wait to test these out! :smiley2:
  17. I, too, am guilty. I have been a power burner for years. If I am home, you can bet there will be candles burning in just about every room of the house. I wander around periodically checking on them and make sure I blow every one out before bed. I just LOVE for my house to smell good! :smiley2:
  18. I only make paraffin and palm tarts, but the temperature of wax is extremely important when making any candles. There are recommendations from the wax manufacturers on what temp to add FO, and what temp to pour. If your temp is too high when you add the FO, you could be burning off the fragrance. Get yourself a good thermometer. :smiley2:
  19. Don't think I could EVER choose one supplier! There are several that are outstanding to me. I love FOH, Daystar, Backwoods, IFT, Candlescience, Wendy's, Candle Cocoon, Flickers, and Peak (where I get my wax). Sorry, that is WAY more than one .
  20. From what I've read, it's the citrusy oils that tend to "suck" in more. I have a Lime one that is really in need of a transfer. But I have had a few others that have done it also. Go figure!
  21. I just ordered a bunch of amber glass bottles from Specialty Bottle the other day. I have quite a few of bottles that are "sucking" in and I don't want to lose any of that precious FO. :smiley2:
  22. Congratulations!! In no time at all, they'll ALL be great! I throw the leftover wax in the pot to remelt, them make either layered tarts or tealights with it. That yummy smelling wax is far too precious to waste!
  23. I started making candles last November with 4794 and love it! My votives turn out beautifully. I pour at about 180-185 all the way to the top, let cool for several hours (until no longer warm) and then do the repour, pouring very slowly until it looks like it is going to spill over (and sometimes it does a little bit). When cool, I put them in the fridge for about 5 minutes and they pop right out. I would never dream of using anything else! :smiley2: hth Valerie
