  1. Thank you i'll check on that one to.
  2. I bet it did ! That sounds very creative. I do a little mp and am thinking about more molds that I can use with cp or mp, just ordered some dyes that are mp safe so I'll just have to play around with it. [ QUOTE=Sharon in KY;978669]My friend did this with lime Margarita, green CP and clear M&P for ice cubes on top with large salt crystals sprinkled on. It looked so good.
  3. That might work, I've got some white mp base that needs to be used.
  4. Thanks for sharing so glad the little dog has a good home and is not going through the nightmare anymore. Hope the tarts do the trick. You never know what will work till you try, please thank her for being so compassionate and taking this little dog in.
  5. I may just fore go using that one in soap, I'm not to the point I guess that I could figure out how to compensate for it, I'd like a soft pink, cream or white, but guess it's not to be.
  6. Love them both! I'm not sure if I'm going to color or not, I was curious as to how brown the soap would be without adding color. I like what you did with your colors.
  7. I received my order today from Lebermuth. Mandarine Cranberry, Tree (BB), Velvet Tuberose. Love them all. I like the way they package the oils, there is a seal on the inside of the bottle, and I can still smell the oil in the bottle. Now to figure out which one to try first. Thought the Mandarine Cranberry or Tree would be good for the holidays, I'd like to make a few family gifts of soap and or candles.
  8. Do you think I add colorant to the soap, cp, without a change in the color? It smells so good, I can't wait to try it in soap.
  9. I just want to comment that this is one of the best fo I 've tried. Not only is it strong out of the bottle, but it gives a very good hot and cold throw in paraffin wax, haven't really tried it gw 464. I have a bottle that is a year old and it is still strong. Thinking of trying it soap.
  10. Occasionally I've noticed that some suppliers will tell you that some of their oils are not compatible in soy, that being said, I am thinking of testing this sample of 464 that I have, using various suggestions I've been presented with here and go from there. My jar is an 8 oz mason jar, I'd like to test with cotton wicks again, but not sure where I want to start, maybe the 51-32-18 would be a good place to start and using Peak's Pink Sugar(real strong in paraffin), no dyes, heat to 180, pour at 165?:smiley2:
  11. I'm going to try a different ceder scent in the next week or so, if it doesn't work out, i'll keep looking till i get the right one
  12. I didn't get the chance to try Bert's oils, but most everyone here has commented on how good they were.
  13. I am waiting on an order from Lebermuth now, but since i can't afford their order minimum, i'm not sure i'll reorder. I ordered because someone gave bottles of fo from them that were 13 yrs old and still strong, can u believe it?
  14. I thought Peak's Cedar was a little musty, but, it cured wonderfully in my cp soap recipe. Thanks, I'll check out your suggestion; I wanted a cedar that smells similar to Mountain Madness' Cedar Soap, it was named either Red Cedar or Western Cedar, not sure, it was a gift and I loved the scent
  15. Could anyone suggest a good Cedar fo that is not too "musty" smelling? Something that has a sharp scent? I am trying new scents with gb 464 and though I like Peak's Cedar ( I used it in a soap recipe), it wasnt exactly what I wanted.
  16. How to make melt and pour soapbase from scratch by Kayla Fioravanti, R.A. is the book and its author. She is owner of Essential Wholesale. I ran across the site by accident; will her a kit and give it a try at least once
  17. I ordered and received this week a book from BN that has instructions on how to make your own Melt and Pour Soap Base. This isn't a lot of recipes for MP, but the actual procedure and formulations on making a white base, clear base, extra sudsy base, etc. Very good info and safety procedures as well. A Kit from the authors online site makes about 10lbs of MP, but you still have to have the book. I might make a batch once just to see what it would be like, I haven't figured out cost wise if it would be worth it, but I make soaps just for family and friends, so cost would not be a big issued for me, I can mold a lot of soap with a 10 lb batch:smiley2:
  18. I could look at yarn all day 2:) it's hard to get me out of hobby lobby. I got 2 skins of RH Team Spirit to start, the pattern I got with it has a simple afghan to crochet, i didn't see one for a knitted afghan, but since i crochet and knit(not real advanced yet, still teaching myself), I thought this would be interesting to try. I saw your pic of the ruffled scarf and got 1 skein or RH Boutique to knit a scarf from, I REALLY didn't need 2 buy that (LOL)
  19. I'll give it a while longer with 464, want to try a few things yet; it seems to be so easy to pour other than my scent issue. glad its working out for you with the 415.
  20. Thanks everyone for your suggestions I'm going to make a few changes and see what happens. I'm appreciative to any more ideas if anyone thinks of anything. I make the candles and soap for family and myself, but I still want them to be made correctly and safely.
  21. Thank you, I'll see if it works ,,Peak's Pink Sugar is fantastic in paraffin blends at 1 oz per lb, but a little light in the 464, so maybe if I increase that it may just be what I'm looking for with that scent.
  22. You're right about trying everything---gets expensive to. I wanted to make a change and try soy, since I 'd read many good things about it, but I guess like anything else, it has its issues to. What works for one always work for another, but I thougt I'd try the soy since some of my family members seem to like it.
