Ok...frosting is the white stuff that you see on pillars to give them a rustic appearance. Also you see it with soy in containers. Some people work hard to acheive the frosted look while others try hard to avoid it. HTH. I removed the pics.....so there is no confusion.

How did I miss that on their site?? I was desparate to get them, I guess I did not pay attention to that fact.

They SUCK!!!! I bought 50 (4)oz containers from them and when they arrived today......they were all packed together in one bag! Not to mention they are all either dented, scratched or dirty with something on them that will not wipe off. Plus they are not even big enough to be 4 oz tins. The ones I usually order from Candlechem are great and these suck!

I am all done with shows too. I am awaiting a case of 50/50 so I can make 50 (4)oz tins for my boss to give out as Christmas presents. I am also working on a web site.......not sure if I am ready for that? Gotta finish Christmas shopping for my son. I spent more on my daughter than I had planned so I either have to do extra for Josh or take some stuff back that I got Lauren. We are also trying to get our coffee shop/ice cream parlor ready and opened for Jan. That is exhausting in itself. We just ordered all of the machines that we will need, and all I can say is WOW....I thought candlemaking was expensive!!! We are also sitting idly waiting to hear about the little boy I keep who was abducted on Monday. I hope all is well for each and everyone of you and that you stay safe this weekend.

Yes.....they look like pellets, not flakes. I thought they looked kinda cool to add to my candles and wanted to see what purpose they served.

What are those things they have on top? They smelled wonderful though but when I read their info, all I could think of was this thread!!

I have seen many soy candles with these little chip looking things on top....what are they?

I really do not want to go back and read thru all posts but is it not illegal to mis represent your product with lies and unsupported facts? There is a company called Swan Creek Candles that I saw their stuff at a local store and there pamphlet appauled me with all of it's nonsense between paraffin and soy and simply stated in bold letters that "the debate was over". And that soy was better than paraffin.

Does this work with any odors? Does it matter what kind of apple? We transport our boxer and lab in my suburban and with the kids eating fast food and leaving half eaten burgers hidden, the truck sometimes has smells I cannot explain.....

Let me see if I understand.....you made candles......tested them.......had them for sale.....then tested them again? When you say they burned a very little burn pool, how long did you let them burn when you got the little pool?

I use the 50/50 blend and I pour at 165

I love 50/50 from Farmhouse. It has the benefits of both soy and paraffin. It adheres well to the jars, it has a wonderful hot and cold throw, burns even and mostly clean. I think you might like it. BTW~ what are you heating in the oven? I was thinking jars but it was not clear.

She said that she used a 1/2 in tapping screw and a 1/4 x 1/2 inch nipple. 1/4 in FIP x 1/4 in FIP needle valve. Titanium plug tap 1/2 in and a titanium drill. She said you have to drill into the pot with a smaller drill bit than the 1/2 in like a 1/4 in drill bit. She also said that you could call or email her and she can get you the stuff and mail it to you or she can just tell you what to get. Lowes has everything you will need, you just have to know what you are looking for. PM me if you want her email address or phone number.

TBH, I have never seen them made with battery operated lights. Although that is a good idea. Have you looked online at some of the wholesale suppliers? Try that and see what you can find.

My Mom did my spout for me and she used something that you would use on a bathroom sink? I can ask but whatever it was works really well.

Someone correct me if I am wrong but isn't 50/50 from JS the same as C&S's 1275?? I know that JS sells the same wax as C&S and they get it from the same manufacturer but I am not sure what JS calls theirs. Anyway if it is the same.....there has been a lot of controversery about this wax and the problems surrounding it. Check out some other threads on it if you are having burning issues with it.

Yes I know but Candle chem only charges $5.00 flat rate on shipping but their tins are 12.95 for 12 of them and they come with tops but I found a company called www.bestcontainers.com that has them for .45 ea and the tops are .14 ea so they are cheaper for me to order larger quanity. Have you ever heard of them?

Is CandleChem the cheapest place to get the 4 oz tins?

I know there is that waterproof sealant that you can use on vase's and things....not sure if it would work. Worth a try?

I took this from another thread.......this is a lot more informative than what I told you. Once you get the candle made, let it cure before test burning it. With paraffin most people only cure for a couple days or so. But with soy most people wait at least a week, many wait 2 weeks. The basic rule of thumb is to burn 1 hour for each inch of diameter, so if your jar is 2.5" then you want to burn it for 2.5 hours. It should achieve a full side to side melt pool in that time and be giving off a good scent throw for a reasonably sized room. If it isn't getting a good melt pool and is leaving wax around the edges, chances are you need a bigger wick. That's when the fun begins... time to start over and try again with another wick! Don't forget to document your testing, write down how long you burned it for, what size room you burned it in, how well the scent throws, etc. I have a testing worksheet here that might help. Once you get it burning and throwing good, give a few to friends to test for you and get their feedback too. The best way to learn is just to try it once and then come back with questions. Get your feet wet and then you'll have a better idea where to go from there. HTH!

I had that problem with containers I bought from Wally World a couple of yrs ago. What did you do different with the others that they did not leak?
