Now I know WHY I did lousy at my craft show in Sept.I always make almost $400.00 give or take a few dollars. Even when there were 30 candlemakers according people. I looked over the program just today. Well I am not on it. Seems I am listed (my booth) as Luster Jewelry. It said 2 spaces.I had one.The lady used to sell that jewelry but this year it was sheets.I wondered why I was so bored and not alot of people at my booth sniffing. Now mind you this year there were only 6 candle booths(with mine) and I only made $170. Booth space is $125.00. I have my program and will be sure and show them.I think next year I should get my space for FREE. I blamed the economy. A few years people said they looked for me. Why look this year I wasn't there according to the organizers!!!!!!!!!!!! When I did check in they had me there.Name and all and said booth 667. LynnS

Interesting,FOOTBALL??? My husband told our postmaster to put Fragile on the box but he probably didn't.I try to watch but once I did tell him and he said he would.We are getting Fragile stickers and I am writing on the box myself red FRAGILE in red. This has only happened to her. I bet it got lost in the shuffle and tossed about. After that long in getting to her it was in the way. Thank You I have learned something about the PO. The rates are so good everytime I send a order but UPS is outrageous when I have checked their cost to ship LynnS

:angry2:I just got a e-mail from a FLA customer.She ordered before and a couple candles were broke. Again broke.She transferred them to other jars without problems.I don't like that and ticked.I have PO put FRAGILE.I send orders to 5 other customers many times throughout the year and the orders are much bigger.Not one candle breaks but send to FLA(Miami)and always broke. It has to be her PO.In fact I sent a order to NC the same day and she said her candles were fine. That NC order arrived to her within 2 days.It took 8 days for the Miami FLA lady to get hers. I know get insurance and have before but all other orders are FINE.I told her to call her PO.I know when the order was sent. It got shuffled somewhere and likely where she lives. LynnS

I have that scent.Just got it.I am not sure but seems about 3 years ago I had it and never sold.Christmas Candles do not sell around here but do have someone interested now in Christmas scents. Interesting with this review.I cannot remember 3 years ago but seemed to me I wasn't impressed but got it anyway a couple days ago. Gotta start over with this one.Hate that. LynnS

I did paint my Santa Claus jars a couple years ago but cannot remember what I used.It stayed on fair but would like something more permanent but not sure about glass. Hope New Orleans Lady can help us with that.I probably still have some paint in the basement but been on the back burner for 2 years.Sants didn't sell. LynnS

I live in Ohio too but whenI first started I went to domain names and typed in the name I chose.If it is taken it will let you know.If not you can buy it usually for a small fee. I am looking for a soap name now and of about 10 I chose the one I started with was the only one that is NOT taken.I am going to buy it even if I don't use it . LynnS

Those pumpkin jars for $14.99 I would have to sell for $25.00.:laugh2:I am sure no one on this Board could sell any at that price. They can keep them. Are they getting bids???? I bet not from candlemakers.:rolleyes2 Yes I would be like New Orleans Lady.Paint a face on the clear and make orange candles.Anything called pumpkin or maybe a carrot cake.That one is a seller for me. IF they are interested in buying the displays I would do it.If my husband had the time he would make displays but he works 7 days a week. Who knows there might be some on here who would be interested in your displays for their soaps at shows or in their shops. Go for it!!!! LynnS

I am not worried about Wal Mart.One person I know who buys Wal Mart is a jealous friend. Always talks about them so I got a BIG candle to try. The scent wasn't bad BUT it burned about 10 hours.My candles that size will burn almost 80 hours. I was seeing the candle disappear before my eyes.I have purchased a few tarts, the scent wasn't bad but I have to remelt them to get them out of the jar or else spoon them out to put another tart on my warmer. I use pillar wax for tarts so I know they will just drop out without any leftover wax or mess. At my shows the past 2 weekends I was asked "How long do your candles burn"??? I said" the 8 ounce will last about 40 hours".They liked that. Maybe they purchased Wal Mart Candles??? Another said they got soy candles from a person.They smelled awesome when you opened the jar BUT when they got home the candle smelled good for maybe an hour but after that the candle had no scent. So I cannot count how many times I was asked how long do your candles burn.One lady said "I still have a few of your candles from last year".She said they last forever. I just hope other potential customers were around. People say over and over they purchased last year but the new customers I hope come back. I need to start a mailing list like some of you have talked about. LynnS

We have a Sam's and Staples in the same area. We belonged to Sam's few years ago. Got Thank You bags and our EZ Up. Now we need to join again. We need both things. I needed bags so bad I did go to Wal Mart.NONE.Had a show the next day and was getting ready to set up that night so REAL desperate.Finally brought the larger brown lunch that will hold about 6 candles. No handle but will last till tomorrow the second day of the show. Off to bed. Beat LynnS

Where can I buy the plastic bag that we package our candles etc at craft show.Doesn't have to be the THank You bags. Plain also is fine. Need ASAP.Realize I am about out . Seems a few years ago someone said Wal Mart and now someone told me the Dollar Tree.I've never seen them at either place.Sure a store will not give me any.Need some to get by the next 2 days. LynnS

Can anyone get to Starla'Candle supply or I think wax-wicks-scent. I can't seem to get on the site but last week ordered car fresheners but now nothing seems to come up. Anyone else having a problem or just me???? Thank You LynnS

Thank You, Care Bear Figures always a day late. I was afraid those were going to be disappearing like the others. Plenty of time to test for next year. Halloween will soon be over and I have no shows in Nov as of yet. Think a school is having one and I did fair at it years ago for the first time.Might check that one again. School craft shows have great attendance where I live. LynnS

Doggone it.I go on Candle and Supplies site today and didn;t see the clear pumpkin jars. Have to assume they are out. I wanted a few to test and maybe try painting them like I did the Santa jar. Will now go back and see what the other sites have. I looked once but will double check if I would like those. LynnS

I am contemplating those at Candles and Supplies and told my customer.Yes I will be doing them in orange. I used to paint the face on a Santa Claus jar. I would think Santa would be harder to paint a face than the pumpkin jar. I hope those pumpkin jars are not more than 16 ounces.If so they will be a bear to wick. LynnS

Been thinking the same thing.I ordered and it has been almost 4 days o and haven't heard a thing. I will wait a while longer and e-mail them to make sure they got it.I want to know it is being processed or at least worked on. I keep up with my customers.I have a order now later than usual but she and I had emergencies. She said it was fine not to rush. Her life has been busy and so was mine. E mailing her tonight and it goes tomorrow but she knows the circumstance and I know hers. My computer went out last week just as I needed to label some candles that would have sold.I was so ticked. We got one that is not expensive but working pretty good.Got it at Office Max It is a HP Officejet 6500. I love it because it prints fast but the warming up takes some time.The only problem this printer spits out fast BUT there is no way to catch them.I have to wait to get the labels or anything else I print before they end up on the floor.We are going to rig up something to stop that. Just what we got but will have to work.Such a bear when this happens at the busiest time and I know how you feel. So I guess I can't have the best of both worlds since the old one lasted for almost 9 years but was always slow. This is fast but have to catch what I print. When you are desperate you deal with anything. LynnS

I have on line customers thinking fall but the craft show people want more florals this year than I've seen. Strange. I did sell Pumpkin scents and Creme Brulee. Those were the 2 biggest sellers.But those florals were going fast. I will make more for my next show and I will probably bring them home.Wish we could read people's minds. Something different every year for my customers at shows but my online customers stay pretty much with the same scents. LynnS

Seems to me even at Big Lots they were a $1.99 a few years ago. I had some left and got some from a CT member last year.Now I have none. Joker We don't have a Dollarama in our area.Seems to me as scarce as they are getting not many stores were carrying them or move to other stock.I need to check out the Big Lots just to see if they have any pumpkin jar.They did have some real small ones but they were a $1.00 the same time they had the ones with the witch hat.
